- On the latest episode of The Solid Verbal college football podcast, we take a look at the always active transfer portal, especially at who's coming and going from and to Colorado as the spring window closes. I originally thought Deion was on path to be successful. Now, I see too many signs its more show than program. Deion (IMHO) shows no signs of coaching up. Its more like trial by fire, survivors play, but nothing is about growth.
Dan’s got it right. On the digital version of this game they should just let you choose whatever player you want
I still find it interesting TSV has reservations on Buffs buildout by Deion. Inherited a really, really, really bad 1-11 program. Team gets better after Dec 22 portal, Spring 23 Portal and goes 4-8. Gets better after Dec 23 portal. It stands to reason this trend line continues and will be better by the end of Spring ‘24 portal. Pretty sure they upgraded across the board and added much needed depth to balance year 1 portal. Not sure how you don’t see this team winning 6 games (minimum ) which would be a faster rebuild than Jedd Fisch did at Arizona. I have them winning 8 games . Think you are way underrating defensive back, line and edge rushers coming in, believe O-line and Tackles is assuredly bigger (Zechariah Owens from Clemson for one). This is a better team and will be year 2 of Buffs under prime but if the Buffs win 8 you’re gonna have to admit the portal approach worked. Also, still believe Prime can recruit Prep… cupboards were so bare to achieve a quicker buildout it required the portal. PS, Shedeur obvs will be one of the cover boys for the game.
You say the floor is 6 wins, but the over/under is 5.5. Also, one season is not enough to tell if what Deion is doing with the portal is going to work better than what a traditional approach would do.

They prescribe to the Old Boys network and don’t like uppity black head football coaches. But unless you’re in the locker room, you don’t know sh-t. So, move along Duckling, Chinese child labor and your daddy Phil Knight will buy you a team one of these years than can actually win a national championship.
@@zoam7881 that right, one season isn’t enough to make an assessments. That’s why I gave a projection for the coming year (minimum 6 wins, max 8) and used Jedd Fisch at Arizona as a comparable benchmark of what constitutes success as Jedd inherited a program in dire straits as well. If Deion wins 6 this year, he would be a year ahead of Jedd in speed of rebuild. The question then would be will the Buffs program continue to improve, as the Wildcats improved each year for all 4 years he was the head coach.
