As both dancer and filmmaker I can really appreciate both sides: the awesome dancing and the unique speedramps on the right moment to show off/highlight certain moves and expressions! The person who shot/edited the video probably experimented with this effect (didn't see it around very often in these types of videos) and did an awesome job! IMHO he created an extra level of craftsmanship on top of the awesome dancing couple!

The other couples didn't look at their partners while dancing and it looks like they were dancing for the camera.
