Bullion Dealer Shows Newest Fake Gold Coins From CHINA

  • In this video I talk to a bullion dealer about the new fake gold coins from China. These fake gold eagles are made of tungsten and plated in gold. They weight the same as real American gold eagles but they have no gold in them. These fake gold coins are worthless, but the scammers pass them off as real gold coins. The fake gold coins are manufactured in China and sent to the USA. Counterfeit gold coins should be reported to the treasury and destroyed. If you want to avoid buying fake gold then utilize the gold tests and purchase gold from a reputable dealer. It is a crime to make fake gold coins and fake gold eagles. I have seen many different fake gold eagles over the years, but these new fake gold coins are some of the hardest to spot.

The ring test was the reason why bank counters were made of stone in the past.
The bank teller would let jump the coin on the stone and hear the ring.
So I was told by an old bank guy...

I had a guy pull up to me at a gas station and he told me that he needed money to get home and had gold to sell. He wanted me to buy it from him. He said he was from Dubai. First thing I tried was the old magnet test and it stuck. He tried to tell me that Dubai gold is magnetic.

I used to deal with a lot of silver when i was an antique dealer. I got a feel for the real thing and I didn't need to see the marks to know it was solid silver. In the days when gold was normal currency they used to bite the coin to test its authenticity. I guess you can't do that with mint coins.. I've known a few fakers of antiques and it can take a level of skill much greater than the original craftsman to fool the experts.. Your advice of buying from a reputable dealer sounds like very good advice to me...

11:20 If you have silver that has tarnished, you can revert much of the silver oxide BACK to silver so it's shiny without polishing... mix a tablespoon of table salt and a tablespoon of baking soda in an aluminum pot of very hot water and just set the silver piece in the water so it's covered by the water. Virtually instantly the silver will "polish" itself when it touches the aluminum. (It does have to be an aluminum pot, not steel, or just fold up a section of aluminum foil into the bottom of a steel pot.) The process gives off a bit of metallic odour and it will turn the aluminum dark, so use an old pot or the foil option...

You see many slight of hand magicians doing up close coin magic making coins disappear and reappear and not just famous magicians . I'm surprised no one dealing coins has had a problem with that . Hi Anthony
I used to work in a jewellers years ago but mostly they would snatch and run when it did happen. The nearest we had I think was people swapping rings around on a tray and trying to claim it was there from the start and that meant we had to sell it to them for the lower price which we didnt. The rings also had tags attached you couldn't remove without scissors .
So anyway that wasn't a great plan on their part.

Just an observation on human nature not an accusation.
People are more likely to get lazy on a $30 coin than a $2000 coin if they are going to get lazy at all.
The most confident that I have ever been was when I bought some silver directly from First Majestic. They mined it and then sold it direct. The only middle man is the refinery which is about as safe as you can get.

In 1972 in an Amsterdam outdoor market they were selling 18k replicas of American gold coins. I think I paid $35 for a xx eagle. They were completely open about it and excellent quality. fine gold was still selling for $35troyoz at the time.

This is definitely why ive only bought from reputable companies. Id hate to have to give someone street justice for trying to pass something fake off on me. Even if im spending more on a piece through online dealers you're paying for that peace of mind along with the authentic metal. The scary thing is ive heard of Coin shops even getting fakes slip through the cracks. I carry around a pretty powerful magnet on my key chain but its only good for one test. If i was buying gold from random people i think id definitely want to bring the testing acid along for further testing.

@@ddlago it’s great, no issues using it and it’s easy to use. You cannot fake a metal’s magnetism, which is why this is a great tool for detecting fakes.
For more info on the GVS, look up Strategic Wealth Preservation (channel on UA-cam). Then look for their video called “Testing gold and silver - expert tips on testing gold and silver”. You’ll see the GVS machine in action; you can decide if the GVS is right for you.

THIS sht is why I ONLY buy new product that has been ordered direct from suppliers.
There are some chinese sites you can buy some great stuff from, but they also sell these fakes, some of which ARENT marked as 'mills' or plated in any way so someone who is new to all this metals stuff could easily fall victim to a rip off.
