good thing too, those stupid Nordyne heating grid assemblies are like $300 now. a restring kit is about $30 each. i have a Miller 3 ton unit with a dual element 8KW heater, so only 2 heating elements. the OE heater grids are rated at 4k each string though, 5k is the max and what the restring kits are technically rated.

Other than overstretching the nichrome coils a bit, not bad. It looks like you could leave the coils short initially, make the two end terminations, then stretch the coils in situ to fit the space. Alternatively, use a piece of copper or aluminum wire to simulate the serpentine path of the coils, then straighten and measure to get a more accurate length.
Do you find those adjustable thermal switches to be as reliable as the fixed ones?

I haven't had any callbacks or problems with the adjustable limit switches. Definitely go that route to save space on the service trucks.

it did look a bit sloppy to me but the coils also look thicker so hopefully they have less tendency to sag once heated. i was concerned with how loose it appeared to fit as well.

    How well did it work?
