Nice job, I would recommend that everyone with similar problems to order a Mercury service manual from a Mercury dealer, it inlcudes all the test and steps to diagnose issues with your motor. Its very detailed and easy to follow. Mine has a similar issue and the resistance test on my trigger tells me it bad where the test on the stator says its good. Saves you a lot of money. Also, when replacing the stator or trigger you should verify that the timing is still correct, and adjust if necessary.

I've got a very similar issue. Thanks for taking the time to share and post this video and your experience. I've got a two cylinder engine that's not firing on one cylinder. Mechanic says it'll be $800 in parts alone bc need to replace whole ignition system. I'll probably do some training on ignition systems then order CDI box, stator and trigger and replace it myself. So I watched your video I have a 2004 pro line walk around with a 200 saltwater mercury and my boat started having problems like the video you have I couldn’t clean out and it was running rough super rough after I rebuilt carburetors I went through the fuel system, put all new hoses and fuel filters fuel pump new spark plugs still nothing so I decided to buy a new stater and trigger CDI ignition call packs everything on the electronics. I’m waiting for the parts. I’m hoping that solved my problem.
Similar here on a 1994 mercury 135. I diagnosed with DV adapter and multimeter that there was no spark firing on a specific cylinder on each bank. Due to service manual measurement sequence it suggested bad switch boxes. Replaced both boxes and the old girl fired up and ram amazing at idle, but still super rough and no power above 3000 rpm. I did gain about 1000 rpm and 10 mph though from changing the boxes, so I think I’m at least running a v6 now instead of a v4-and-some.
