The field is 1/2 mile by 3/4 mile. 240 acres. Swathing happened on the half mile and with a 35' swather, that's 4 acres for a complete round. The combine has a better chance to make a complete round on a hopper fill. Not the other way. This makes a lot less chasing around for the grain cart. Hope that makes sense?
So does curing it crossways help in picking it up with the pickup front on the Combine? We have never cut wheat this way before, but I am interested in how you find it when it comes to actually Harvesting it. We are also looking at updating our Swather to the same model you are using, a JD W150 with a 40ft front. How do you like it?
The field is 1/2 mile by 3/4 mile so 240 acres. It was seeded the long way (3/4 mile) but swathed on the 1/2 mile do the combine could make a compkete round do the grain cart didnt have to chase around as much. However, when the swath is thin, the swath has a better chance to not fall through between the stubble rows, depending on your seeder row soacing - if that makes sense. Like the swather. Makes a nice swath. Built by MacDon and they build a lot of swsthers
I miss my youth....spent hours/days/weeks swathing grain. God bless all of you
Good looking wheat thanks for sharing 🚜🚜👍👍
Nice video, but why cut crossways?
