Oklahoma’s Quartz Mountain State Park | New Horizon Trail in the Wichita Mountains

Located in the Wichita Mountains of Oklahoma is a oasis of scenery and beauty. Quartz Mountain State Park is home to hiking trails that get you high above the great prairie. It is a wonder that these granite mountains exist here in the southern plains of North America.
The New Horizon Trail is one of the best ways to view Lake Altus and the Quartz Mountain Lodge. The park is, also, a haven for RV and tent camping. Fishing and swimming are, also, popular activities along with rock climbing and bouldering near Baldy Point.

I just retired a year ago and I have just got all my ducks in a row to travel. My camper van is ready and that area of Ok. will be my first stop area when I leave Texas. I will be headed all the way north to North Dakota and Montana for the summer 😍
