Hey! nice implement (M-F) I thought I heard You hit a rock or some rocks when that sheer pin went! also that is a nice Farmall My other favorite red tractor I H, M-F's 1st
Thanks for watching and commenting. We don’t have many rocks here in South Carolina. Might have hit something tho. We have several older tractors we us on our farm. Farmall A-Cub-140. 504 gasser. 464 and a 574. Have a good week.
@@GerraldFarms You are 2 for 2 for ,my 2nd favorite east coast state! as I hale from Va. My brother is into Cub Cadets garden tractors not sure on what models but he has 3 of them. I have 59 M-F 50 z134 continental gas engine, & my new girl is a 2018 M-F 1526 4wd with a loader, this is my 1st diesel so far so good anyway thank You for your reply also I think I will subscribe to see your tractors.
I used this exact sickle mower from like 2010 until 2016 with a Massey Ferguson 245. With first and second cutting together I cut about 60 acres a year with it. I ran mine in 3rd Gear Low Range as close as I can to the 540 PTO level. I had that thing dialed in, it would cut just as good as a disc mower just not as close to the ground. The DF dynabalance is the way to go. The Pittman arm mowers can break the Pittman arm very easily if not adjusted correctly
Thanks for watching and commenting. We still run it a little cutting ditch banks. The MF 245 are good tractors. We do a live hangout every Sunday night 8 pm est. drop in if you get a minute. Normally lot of good farm guys snd gals.
Nice video! I’ll come take that sickle off your hands so you don’t have to worry about it anymore buddy!! Been looking for one for a while and can’t get my hands on one anywhere. Thanks for sharing!
Can you get me a pic or video of where the bar hooks to the bracket on wobble box. I have one someone broke bolts & their attempt to fix it doesn't look correct
Thanks for watching and commenting. We still us ours for cutting ditch banks. Pretty good cutter. We do a live hangout every Sunday night. Drop in if you get a chance. Have a good one
Thanks for watching. I think we picked up some stuff for it at Ag Supply. If I see parts for it I’ll try to leave you another comment. Stay safe. Have a good one
Thanks for watching. I’m glad I don’t cut hay with it. The disc mower has spoiled me. I’ve seen some people cut the ditch banks with there disc mower. Have a good one
Nice video! Try running the tractor ground speed faster, the grass/weeds should fall over the cutter bar not lay on top, that is why the bolts sheared. IF you should have to use this unit as a backup to cut hay, you will need a swathboard, spring mounted to the end of the cutter bar, that will divert 6-10" of hay away from the next path so that the drive side of the sickle won't be trying to double cut the last pass of hay. The manual or an online version will show you a swathboard.
Thanks for watching. I sure hope that I don’t have to cut much hay with it. I’m hooked on the disc mower. I use to use a New Holland hay bine. It cut good but slow. The fire ant hills would plug it up often. Have a good one

Thanks for watching. It works good for us. Have a good one
With what you were encountering as you cut around that 40 acre field with the brush hog, I don't think the sickle bar mower is quite right for you.
No Gators in those ditches?
Thanks for watching. No gators in the ditch. But there is ground hornets. They ate me up. Have a good one
@@GerraldFarms when I was grinding wood waste at the Georgetown landfill there were some big ones in the ponds
Rowdy Yates there’s a lot in Georgetown. Every now and then you will see one in our rivers.
@@GerraldFarms I lived in pimlico on the Cooper River and had a 10 footer under my house. House sat over the river on pilings

It's kind of neat watching it slip underneath the weeds.
We have one for the 350 Farmall I'd like to get working

Have you had to buy sickles and guards for it? If so where did you buy them. I’ve been looking with no luck. Thank you

I use a Ford 451 sickle mower. It seems like I spend more time fixing it than using it. Oh well, I did get it cheap though.

Gerrald Farms Never had to worry about fire ants in Michigan nor in Kansas. Didn’t think of those issue when I never had to deal with them.
