"It Is Just CHAOS!" Civil Servants Threaten To Undermine Rishi Sunak's Rwanda Plan

- The trade union for senior civil servants is launching an unprecedented legal challenge to ministers' Rwanda plan.
The FDA said it was intervening because it feared the scheme to send some asylum seekers to Rwanda could force officials to break the law.
Under a new law, ministers can ignore the European Court of Human Rights and direct officials to organise flights.
The union wants the High Court to rule on whether that element would put civil servants in a difficult legal position.
Talk's Alex Phillips is joined by former home office minister Norman Baker to discuss.

To all civil servants if you don’t like doing what the government tells you to do RESIGN.
No documentation no process no asylum.
Anyone who's thrown away their passport should be first in line to be sent to Rwanda immediately.
How about these well paid civil servants, house these refugees in their own homes?

It is pitiful how the sick & disabled are treated so. The assessors are liars and not medically qualified, the medical evidence is ignored and the assessors are financially incentivised to find people fit for work, even terminally ill people. To see their fear and poverty in the face of coping with illness and disability is horrendous. 14yrs of cuts & over 140, 000 have died since then because they have been denied help. These foreigners arrive & are catered to indefinitely, with no harsh scrutiny or waiting times. It's corrupt and unacceptable. Our people deserve more, not foreign liars who arrive illegally expecting to be catered to for the rest of their lives.
God help us all if Labour gets in , I have a very long memory and I do bear grudges !

Totally agree that the onus should be on the ‘asylum seeker’ to prove their claims as to why they are facing persecution. If they are destroying their documentation then the assumption should be that their claims are illegitimate

Who are these Civil Servants? Who are influencing them to go against the Priminister? Who has infiltrated the Civil Service department? Who needs to investigate the Civil Service Department for subordinates of their leagal dutie? Our Priminister needs to start an investigation into the whole Civil Service not actually performing their tasks inline with their job role that is adding to the legal imigrants not being processed and actually causing new law breaking problems and letting them into British society without documenting who they are and were they are going!

The true asylum seekers would be retaining their papers to prove their case. Those without documents should be. Cancelled . Once this is known the chancers should stop coming. Is it as simple as that??

Once again a problem that could have been resolved years ago by the Tories. Start having a systematic rotation of the civil service under a new government. It can easily be done with simple legislation. A Conservative government, shouldn't have to deal with a civil service that's maybe pro Labour or has a leftist ideology. Same as I wouldn't expect a Labour government to have to deal with a right wing ideology civil service. Start using the rotation method and all this nonesense goes away. The Tories have completely wasted 14 years in power. So much could've been done.

Let's assume they are all genuine (so traumatised, they don't stay in any of the other safe European countries they pass through!!) what then given the numbers? Are we seriously expected to take them all. There are millions all around the world who could arrive and could all be classed as genuine by a set of criteria. Who said we are responsible for them all? Who has the right to force us to be responsible for them all.
Only a few out of every 100 come to the UK. Most refugees stay in the closest safe country.

@@dartskipper3170 It's true. For example, there are 2.3 million Syrian refugees in Turkey and 1.8 million in Lebanon. It's one reason why, among Syrians it will be mostly young men (kids and grandparents can't make such an arduous journey). It is not true of all groups crossing the channel though - most obviously Albanians and Vietnamese.
Trouble with having a criteria and the lefty lawyers would make sure they know what to say and meet it. Thats why so many miraculously turn Gay or Christian overnight. Basically we are full, this is affecting the quality of life of the indigenous population and its way past time it was stopped. Helping others is all well and good but as you say, how can we be responsible for every Tom, Dick and Abdul who turns up on our shores illegally.

Since France are allowing them to cross the channel and even helping them, why don't we build an asylum centre on the border of the Republic of Ireland and help them to cross over and find a better life there. The EU would stop the boats soon enough.

The civil service is ensuring what there being ordered to do will not put them at risk just like anyone else why can you not see this is nothing to do with stopping the plan its covering those who are responsible to act on behalf of the unelected soon to be ex prime minister rishi. You know this all could of been avoided if they simply expected what France first offered process claims in France
