The cool thing about Shinedown is that they don't have any bad songs!! They're amazing live!!
They have plenty of bad songs. Like The Who threat to survival album, all but one song from Attention Attention and every song on the new album. Also second chance is horrible
So you just don’t like Shinedown.
@@Terri6868 loved Leave a Whisper from the first song to the last song, same with Us and Them and like quite a bit of Amaryllis. I liked some from Sound of Madness but knew once Second Chance was a hit it would change the band’s sound and boy it definitely did.
Brent Smith explained on a radio interview program, Rockline, that while the band was writing the new album, he had a dream about a mother whose daughter died a month before her son Trevor was born. He wrote the song about the mother dealing with the death of her child and trying to move on.[2]

Shinedown is Deep and incredible band. If you look they have the most consecutive top 10 songs in HISTORY. They have literally like 20 straight top 10 single’s.
On the Billboard top main stream rock chart they are #1 out of the 40 years of Billboard. Godsmack is #2 another band I love. I knew about Godsmack years before I knew about Shinedown. I can't believe I only found out about them in 2013. I have seen both bands together live but SD over 15 times & met the band many times. Great humble sweet guys especially Brent and Barry.
Everyone thinks that this song is about a relationship ending, but the song is really about a mother who lost her child and is trying to move on from the pain of the situation.
love Brent, love Shinedown, problem is the world is f*****, no one cares about good singers, guitar players, bass players, drum players, anymore.. its sad, i still had the chance to hear them live back in 2006 when I lived in Virginia :D This wasn't even out, and Brent was way more f***** but he still could sing
The high as outer space is just a reference to their love for one another feeling euphoric.
Such a good song. Spending time with one’s children is the ultimate high.
Brents voice is incredible, in my opinion one of if not the best rock/ metal vocalist
I heard this was based on a letter recieved from a mother that lost her son to cancer. The cancer (crow) chasing the butterfly (son).
Have seen Shinedown several times. Great show always. Highly recommend. Will see them every chance I have. Never griw tired of seeing them live. Sound just like this.
He told the story at his acoustic concert in Kansas City. It's about a mother losing her child. The crow is the child and the butterfly is the mother. Very powerful song!
Thanks guys, I told you it was deep. It came to Brent in a dream. He dreamed it was the daughter passing away with cancer 1 month before the son was born. He changed it to the son died I’m thinking as a infant 👶 cancer, Sid’s I don’t know. It was meant to comfort anyone that has lost a child. 🦋

The songs about a mother who lost her child..
I feel like the song has resignation for anyone who has lost anyone, it makes me think of my brother who passed from a drug OD in 2020 (which kills me to this day, being a nurse I should have noticed what was going on but everyone was having to keep a distance related to covid and we lived 800 miles away from each other) but this song meant so much to me after he passed that I got an awesome tattoo of a crow chasing a butterfly on my forearm for him, it's by far my favorite of all my tattoos
The Wolf HunterZ Mad As a Hatter by Larkin Poe live at The Convent Club is mind blowing. Bluesy slide guitar and a wailin' angel. Best song I ever heard

Always been my favorite shinedown song but really took on a new meaning when I lost my son to overdose last year….. I had a tattoo for this song put on my arm years ago… now it’s in honor of my Mason
It got me through a very hard time personally and Call Me got me through my mom's suicide. This band is amazing!❤
