Love the way it turned out! Just a tip, I learned it on my hair. To avoid loosening the curl, as you're taking it down, just turn the flexi rod in the opposite direction of the hair. Basically the hair will loosen automatically around the flexi rod and you can just pull the rod out instead of Interrupting the curl.
It’s funny how your hair can really affect your mood! When it’s wack, it makes you feel wack, when it’s good, it’s so so good, lol. Even more than makeup cuz at least you can wash that off, when the hair sucks after all that work, ain’t nobody trying to redo it, lol!
You ain't never lied. When your hair trash your outfit trash your day trash and you are officially trash. For real I be about to cry when my hair turn out ugly and I'm 39 almost 40. Its serious. My husband finds it funny though.
I did a Flexi rod set for the first time for new years and I love it. I also did the horse shoe method on no heat stretched hair, it wasn't comfortable sleeping in it though. I Didn't separate it though cause I'm not good at separating anything. Love your results, you can rock any style. Tip for the ends can add edge control or gel to hold it onto the rod.
I have seborrheic dermatitis too. Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo was a godsend. Ppl think dry flaky scalp means add more oil but surprisingly too much oil is causing the seborrheic dermatitis flare-up. Jojoba oil is lightweight and mimics our natural sebum. I went back to using grease and my hair started growing thick like it was when I was a kid. After washing and blowing drying my hair, I grease my scalp with Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey Pomade then cornrow my hair into a braid pattern for a crochet style. My scalp loves it and I have less breakage once I take out my braids. Took it back to old school and my hair began looking and feeling like it did when I was a child with thick black 4c hair that stretched mid back
I love the results, those curls are poppin! Two tricks: (1) I've seen people use edge gel on the ends to smooth around the rods. (2) I have the same scalp condition and Stopitt worked better than the prescribed shampoo. Sold on Amazon with a scalp cream!
Looks good! This is my go-to style for a night out. I use mousse on my flexi-rod settings and a little on my twist-outs. Design essentials almond/avocado line has an excellent mousse. It's pretty moisturizing as well.
Ooh thanks for this tip. I bought flexi rods because I like when my hair has some shape but I absolutely loathe the crease/mark that come from using snap on roller setters. And then a beautician told me that the rods actually can be very drying for the hair due to the foam material. So, I'll definitely give that product a try.
I understand about seborrhea dermatitis. It flares at the most inconvenient times. I use Nizoral shampoo and my doctor recommended I use Miconazole on the scalp for any specific breakouts and yes this is the same anti-fungal we use for yeast infections. Seborrhea dermatitis is caused by a fungus on our scalp. Usually I have a flare of eczema at the same time. I use CeraV for tha,t the ceramides really calm the eczema down. Mine is triggered by stress and sugar. And like most of us I've had a lot of both lately.
Your hair is beautiful! I’ve tried the horseshoe method and I loved it on day two. I think I have the same scalp condition. I need to go to the dermatologist.
It came out great! I used to use mousse back in the day when it wasn't as popular. It works well with my hair since it takes so long for my hair to dry as well.
Today’s my day off so I actually have the chance to be early-ish for a video 👏🏽😩 As usual the results are bomb, everything looks good on your hair. Have you done Bantu knots? If not would you try it? ❤️
Could you, if you have not yet, make a video about your hair condition? How you were diagnosed, how you treat it and with which products etc.? Thanks from Canada 🇨🇦!!
Here's a trick to make sure you don't have flaking. -Take a little bit of each product your going to use for your style and put it on the back of your hand. -Mix all the products together. - If the mix into each other well (should be creamy like a lotion), then you won't have any flaking. However, if you mix them and it's mixture turns gummy or balls then you will have flaking. Worked like a charm!!! Learn this trick from Curls of a CPA :). Subscribe to her channels, she's funny and gives great hair advice too.
15:11 I was going say I don’t like it but I’m type that do twist out an then spray so it shrinks up lol I don’t like stretched out look on me . Now this will be cute puff up I’m glad I’m not the only one that likes there hair like that
Seborrheic dermatitis on when your scalp over produces oil and is prone to irritation. I just hope you know you're not supposed to be oiling your scalp as that will irritate you more. Nice rod technique though. Great since it conserves rods too.
Exactly! 99.9% of the time I avoid oiling my scalp for that very reason. On rare occasions right before I wash it, I’ve used oil but usually that’s because California is crazy dry and my scalp hurts from dehydration. I kind of have to immediately wash my hair though.
Hi, I have seborrheic dermatitis and I was wondering besides the nizoral shampoo what else do you use in your scalp meaning oils and conditioner? Curls came out great by the way!

LaToya, you look so gorgeous with your blown out hair...dare I say sexy! The flexirod curl results came out bomb, love this video, times like these I wish my hair was longer to curl, rocking a big chop TWA.
I feel like the curls aren't as tight as I like em to be. Maybe the hair needed more time in the flexi rod or maybe it depends on the products used. You got a better curl from those perm rods. It may be easier for myself just do a twist out with the mouse but thank you for showing us!!

Mousse is EVERYTHING sis 😉
Luv the curls! I use Lotta Body mousse all the time, I've never seen any flakes with mousse.
I think my mother used that brand a lot. I was so nervous about flakes lol!
mousse helps the ends adhere to the rod and you don't have to try pinching the hair to the end of the rod.
I just did my first flexi rod set this week but I didn't do this method. I will try it next time.
Super cute!!!! I am adding mousse to my things to try this years. I loved this look💚

Seborrheic dermatitis on when your scalp over produces oil and is prone to irritation. I just hope you know you're not supposed to be oiling your scalp as that will irritate you more.

Hi ms latoya, want to know the purpose of the mousse plz, what is it for,and what good ones wld you recommend.
It provides a light hold to the hair. This is the first mousse I’ve ever tried.
I wonder if this would work with leave in conditioner instead of moisturizer 🤔 I wanna use mine up
Probably not ideal. The best thing for this kind of style is just a foam wrap for hold-nothing else is really needed.
Is your hair really 4c ? What did you do to have such an amazing lenght? I m really happy to have 4c
Yes 😊 My hair is definitely 4c. You can take a look at some of my other wash day videos. 🤗
