      @BaronSpamedi 18 днів тому +2

      Yeah. I bet they've had their interest shaken by the PSR stuff and by the way the most of the other clubs reacted with the sudden changes to associated party transactions etc.
      They're probably wondering what the point of chucking loads of money at Newcastle is when they can't actually buy in big players without years of wheeling and dealing to increase our revenue.
      Plus, there's nothing stopping the other PL clubs getting together again to throw more obstacles in their way at some point in the future anyway.

  • @terrycook9247
    @terrycook9247 19 днів тому +35

    I love St. James Park, but if we want to get around the PSR rules, then we have to move to a new stadium. I don't think increasing the capacity to 65,000 is enough.

    • @phoenixrisin5848
      @phoenixrisin5848 18 днів тому +2

    • @terrycook9247
      @terrycook9247 18 днів тому

      @phoenixrisin5848 Well, the chairman says he wants Newcastle United to be the best team in the world, and for that to happen, they gonna have to get around the rules. TTR mentioned this on lastnights show.

    • @daniel4224
      @daniel4224 18 днів тому

      @@phoenixrisin5848 I agree. PSR is a convenient excuse. PIF are an investment fund, their motive is making a profit from investments. The can have a nice little profit club with 65k Geordies filling the stands every week and hiding behind PSR as a reason for minimal transfer spending. If they were truly committed then there would be a new training ground in place by now. We've been lied to from the start.

    • @daniel4224
      @daniel4224 18 днів тому

      Yes, it's very worrying. I think the lack of new training ground is the biggest piece of evidence that PIF were never fully committed. It would have been an investment in something that they cannot make money back on e.g. buy players...sell for higher price, expand/new stadium....more fans and higher ticket prices. A new training ground would have been an investment for the benefit of the club, not PIF's future profitability

  • @danbrown5196

    As great as it is... 65000 doesn't help us challenge financially. Also asks questions about the training ground, women's stadium etc... is that also now not happening? Feels like pif are putting the club to one side as a lesser priority now and just focusing on their own league. But still can't complain as its still better than we've had for decades lol.

    In my opinion if they stay at SJP then in order to invest and to increase revenue they are going to have to double or even triple the cost of a ticket in order to bring in the revenue required to push forward. 65,000 at current prices will not generate the income they need to compete with the top 6

    I heard that the split ownership of the club might be causing some issues with building a new stadium. PIF don't own the club outright, so if they foot 100% of the bill for a new stadium, they'd want to own 100% of the club's biggest asset. Creates some issues. Not sure a 65k revamp of St James' feels like it will future-proof the club though.

    I have to say I'm thrilled to hear the news about SJP. New stadiums are beautiful but they lack something. Look at the new Wembley, it's state of the art but the old version, even with the running track was special. The new version could be any other new stadium in the world.
    Old stadiums have history, passion, memories and an indefinable something that cannot be recreated somewhere else. The new plans for the Gallowgare would be perfect and make the old ground an intimidating fortress that would be the envy of the world.

      @GianM1000 17 днів тому

      Not his job to assist or score, he can do better when he is forward but how many players do you want in the box? The 3 attackers, the 2 fullbacks and if the No 6 (Tonali) is in the box, what about the other 2 midfielders that should play in front of him? 8 outfield players in attack and 2 cater-backs holding the fort? No balance, and that’s how you concede easy goals against mediocre opponents.

    A once in a lifetime cheque means we seize the chance and build a brand new multi purpose super stadium, with retractable roof. Tarting up SJP for the addition of 12000 extra seats doesn’t do it for me. The East stand itself is 50 year old, it’s time to move on, who knows it may change our luck as I’ve never seen us win anything of note and I’ve been going since the east stand was built.
    As for Tonali, I’d move him on. It’s known we need to sell, so rather than lose Bruno or isak, let’s recoup our money for him. While Milan may feign ignorance over his betting while at the club, he certainly knew about it, and the potential implications but chose to hide it while negotiating with NUFC. For that I would have shipped him out at the start of the season, and if he isn’t getting a game then that’s another reason to move him on.

    wilson has looked ok, i can see where your coming from Paul but bloody hell he has only played 10 mins try him over 90 and i guarentee he would be injured for another spell in the treatment room, get him sold along with miggy longstaff and trippier and then we can try and move a little forward with bakoyoko and a half decent rcb, what we dont need is Howe dishing out new contracts to these deadwood

      @@LaurenceGill-l4p it was widely reported he was struggling after Liv, remember he wasn't playing regularly for a year. Can't risk injury from fatigue, look at last season. He played 2 in a row for the first time in ages, int games are slower paced. Our training sessions are as intense as games. His press in the Italy games is beyond everyone else. The setup was working in the first half. Poor defensive errors killed us, then some weird subs from Howe.

    It sounds to me that PIF are going with this option because they are losing interest. I don't blame them to be honest because the premier league are just screwing us over anyway possible. This option certainly doesn't bring in the revenue like a new stadium would. I am sick of hearing about PSR it is a real downer and destroying the football we all love.

    To think the club had plans ready to go on an 80K new stadium in 1998. Hall the local tycoon was more visionary than the richest men in football 30 years later. A bigger Galowgate isnt an amazing or visionary upgrade it's more an amber light than a green light and makes us competitive with Liverpools ground rather than Spuds.

    Huge news indeed Paul but not good news, I'm not convinced that the owners intend to be here long term, a new stadium in the park would be a tremendous step forward and a clear statement of intent.

    Extremely underwhelming if this turns out to be true re the stadium expansion. We go from talk of billions of pounds being spent by PIF on a state of the art new stadium to a bloody stand being expanded! What the hell is going on with this project! PIF obviously have no interest in bankrolling the club to the initial levels which were talked about. The more disappointing news like this that emerges increases my thoughts that PSR is a convenient excuse for the club to not spend.

    An 80 year old season ticket holder told me: Number of trophies won whilst the Leazes was the "Home" end - 11: with the Gallowgate as the "Home" end - 0. Tradition went out the window 50+ years ago. A "Black and White Wall" won't win trophies but will earn loads of media and marketing exposure - like Dortmund's it'll be a destination for football-fan tourists.

    I’m not so sure about this Paul. I think St James’ Park with a huge wall is all well and good but it is not fit to house other sporting events and rock/pop concerts in order to expand our revenue. Internally St James’ is also out of date, it’s not just about a new stand. It’s about redeveloping the whole stadium. I think a new stadium will happen.
    I would say watch this space, keep up the good work mate

  • @jamesansell007

    If go for this wall idea I don’t mind but their must start later stages of plan must be them getting into move to a super stadium in 80,000 people with within 2030 to 2034 Newcastle and other fans will fill it easily because of the way that the season passes are setting so quickly

    If we did build a new stadium away from SJP , the logical place for me is skinnerburn rd . In between the Utilita arena and the river . If the money is available you could build a man City type infrastructure . Personally i would love to keep our history and stay at the SJP .

  • @phoenixrisin5848
    @phoenixrisin5848 18 днів тому

    Tonali was brilliant against Villa, had two good games since. He's scored one goal and has two assists, howay Paul, you like your stats, back up your opinion on Tonali with evidence that he should be in the team. Tonali has had less impact on our midfield than Lewis miley did last season and he was 17 years old at the time !
    I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong if Tonali turns his career around for us but wanting him to start because he had a good game for Italy is absurd, it's for Newcastle that we want him to play well and for a player of £52m he's been bang average to very underwhelming.
    He's cost us goals in his last two games, lost track of the times he's turned away from shots or pulled out of challenges. But it's okay when he does it...not Longstaff though, why Paul ?
    The super stand won't happen, just like everything else we hoped for when the Saudis took over. They may have had the most ambitious plans when they first arrived, I guess we'll never know, but it looks to me like it's "jam tomorrow" yet again from the latest owners at nufc.
