    Your use and balance of beautiful colors in this watercolor along with your sense of capturing the serenity of a beautifully idyllic natural setting, give birth to a wonderful work of art. It makes me want to strive to continue to paint in order to someday create this kind of beauty on watercolor paper. Thank you.

      Thank you so much! Watercolours still feel like magic to me - my favourite thing about painting with watercolours is the unexpected surprises they create for us when we paint wet into wet. And this landscape delivered plenty of such surprises :)

    I just made a comment on another of your demonstrations, applauding you for making your textual comments easier to read by increasing the contrast of the text against its background. I can tell this is one of your videos made prior to your having made that change.

    So very lovely this and so many of your pieces, but so daunting to imagine emulating.
    I'll keep studying, practicing.
    Do you use reference images?

    • @AnastasiaMily
      @AnastasiaMily  Місяць тому +1

      Thank you for watching and for your kind words! I do not normally use any reference images - the longer we paint, the easier it becomes to paint from imagination. It did take me a few years though… I hope you do continue playing and exploring and enjoying the process of painting in watercolour ✨

    Love the Twin-acridone trees! 😁 Also love that warm desaturated blue you mixed for the distant hills. You mention ultramarine + violet + burnt umber in the video but I do not see the violet hue listed with the paints. Carbazole?

    • @AnastasiaMily
      @AnastasiaMily  Місяць тому +1

      I think I have to borrow the term "Twin-acridone" from you! Love it!! It was Carbazole, it is the only violet I have on my palette. Thank you for pointing this out. And thank you for watching, as always!

    So pretty! Love the palette you chose. I'm curious. Other than the sky, were the hills and trees wet in wet, or wet on dry? It looks like maybe wet on dry or damp. I'm 4:51 seconds into the video which prompted my question. (edited to say nevermind hah. I see now that you did add water to paper before dropping pigment in)Thank you for showing us your style, it's certainly inspirational. I do a lot of watercolor landscapes and I usually soak my paper than smooth it out on a hard surface like a board(something I can move around during painting), and start dropping in color washes. I work with the paper at various stages of it drying, but don't do fine details and until paper is mostly dry. I like that you are preserving your white space...that's a hard aspect of watercolor painting if not using masking fluid.

    • @AnastasiaMily
      @AnastasiaMily  Місяць тому +2

      Thank you so much! I love your question - it was actually a bit of a mix of wet on dry and wet into wet for the hills and the trees. I do not soak my paper before I start painting. I only wet the areas I am working on, adding more water/paint as I go. The sky was painted wet into wet, then I added the hills and the green mass of foliage wet on dry, but since these areas were close to the sky, the paint spread into the wet areas creating soft transitions. Then I dropped various colours into the wet wash. This helps me create both soft and hard edges where needed, and it also preserves some of the "speckles" of white paper that add a bit of a sparkle to the scene. Hope this helps!

    Nice, but why are you all using awful music? It seems it’s a trend for all UA-cam teachers to be using horrible music. You are forcing us to choose to listen to it, or leave the channel. You are teaching. What teacher, in any classroom, uses this awful music behind what he is teaching? It would put his students to sleep. It would be distracting from what he is teaching. It would not be a good teacher. I refuse to listen or subscribe to any artists who are stuck on trends. Think for yourself to make these videos watchable.

      I just mute it. The directions are all written, so sound is unecessary. Her videos are fabulous and surely worth just tapping Mute if you prefer silence. PS: If the speaker has an irritating voice, I mute the sound and turn on captions.

      Was this comment generated by AI? It certainly lacks any real human kindness, love or compassion. I am glad you elaborated your positive approval of the painting by your generous expression of the word, "nice." If you are a real person, I just hope you aren't a teacher, if this is your manner of being nurturing.

      For goodness sake just turn the sound off. No one is forcing you to do anything. Keep your negative thoughts to yourself. Just appreciate the stunning art that is being produced.

      there is a button you can push that mutes the sound. Too bad you don't have one of those.
