Younger folks like yourselves talking about jazz collecting is such a breath of fresh air. Ryan, your sense of humor shines through in this format. Both of you, it's a pleasure witnessing your enthusiasm for the hobby.
Thanks Richard! That means a lot! Some our inspiration for this started when you interviewed Jazz Peasant on your channel that was quite the listen! Initially I wanted to do some sort of interview thing among my friends where we could get an idea of how we all collect and learn about different artists in the process but before we do that I figured it’d be fun to start a podcast up with Donovan and just see where it takes us!
Really enjoyed that. Thanks for the heads up on Mitzi Gaynor. And Gene Shaw is very underrated, Breakthrough is an excellent record. And two hours is fine, the longer the better lol. Looking forward to the next one! - Mike
Thanks Mike! Mitzi is an awesome singer and actress as well, I’ve been addicted to her music since I first heard her! Also thanks for the feedback, we weren’t sure how a two hour podcast would be but glad to know it’s all good! Didn’t know if it would get boring for everyone😂
From an avid collector on 53 years of my favourite artist Connie Francis, she did 80 albums in USA alone 2 of them are Jazz related 1960 SONGS TO A SWINGING BAND and 1964 A NEW KIND OF CONNIE. Also Benny Golson arranged and conducted 3 songs on the album MOVIE GREATS OF THE 60'S 1966 Dance my troubles Away,Wives and Lovers and The Good Life. Ryan i have a list of my deceased younger brother's jazz vinyl, there are 100 vinyls i'll send you the list. Greetings from Greece
Great video guys, really enjoyed it. And thanks for the shout out! 🙂 Planning to start posting videos again soon myself, after about a 6 months hiatus. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to the next video.
Thanks Fredrick! I got post notifications on for your channel so I’ll keep an eye out for your next video! Also me and Donovan were planning on have guests in future episodes, if you were interested you could come on and arrange a few topics to dive into!
hold on, it's not an addiction unless you spend all your time and money on it at the expense of being social and leaving the hous... oh wait, it's an addiction isn't it
