Likely due to pushback on the original Sky Strikers in 2022 which were awful which is why they fixed it a year later with all the good ones we ended up getting.
Each Magistus card has crossovers with its original archetype now. Crowley with invoked Verre magic with witchcrafter Endymion and Thor Hammer with PEndymion.
5:50 I think its fine because magistus do have their own fusion spell that can fuse monsters from s/t and its searchable via rilliona. I do understand the ideology of moving away from the older magistus cards because not all of them are great, but I like that they kept that identity for those cards to be used if you wish for the heavy/hybrid fusion approach in magistus.
The current state of the deck is a bit funny. There are many 1 card lines that get better if you’re willing to run the old crowley and invocation. Because they get you more equips.
@@nerodragon8703negation effects. I understand that it is a deck "let's pass through everything" vibe but it needs archetypal omni negates to actually get what they want to do (and maybe the next Arc-V set in the series 12 will be about Reiji, so we can get something)
I'm assuming that we will get a fourth D/D monster from the manga in this Premium Pack, since last year we got four Performapals (also because Extra Surveyor has a pair, like ClassiKuriboh and BaroKuriboh, for instance)
There are 2 Surveyors left: Destiny Surveyor and Zero Surveyor. They're both non-Pendulums, so they could theoretically occupy slots 12 and 13 in the set, but I don't necessarily expect them to show up. I hope they have actual useful effects if they do end up getting adapted.
I'm really hoping they print a new extradeck option for D/D/D because right now playing ddd feels like playing a deck that does what firndsmith does but worse :/ I'm hoping another extender to go through in the event gilgamesh gets outed, so the deck isn't so bottlenecks at gilgamesh.
The spell is mid BUT. It can send equips to push for more bodies and it can out floodgates which is worth keeping in mind. But now we actually have a decent end board, even in pure which is awesome.
Spell trap zones are a almost as good as gy now with all the monsters that can utilize the zones This has been the best thing to receive a buff since xyz being introduced Soo many good generic or archetypal cards making use of the zones is alot if fun
Brooo i hope they just started printing D/D Support (I know not in this set but maybe the next) bc .... the first two were well good consistency booster and extender altering some combos and bringing in a little gas. I hoped for the third one to bring in at least a similar effect but well..... this one is litterally garbage. Even tho the first ones were good they still were not what the deck needed...like I said hope to see more new and hopefully better stuff
The zoroa fusion is a really nice addition but that last spell should of been a quick effect or heck a trap thats a hand trap would of made it so much better
I would not sleep on any of the new magistus cards. The new Poplar is good, and if it ends up being, u can use monster cards and potentially the opponent monster that's even better. So magistus is now leading more towards a super poly deck, which isn't terrible. The new boss sounds really good a negate is something they needed. The spells aren't bad. The WC spell to send another spell is good to gain a certain resource back and the ED spell is a great extension for them to get anyone, especially their s/t negate. Obviously, each of the spells seems much better in the other archetypes, but if anything, they're 1 ofs. Take a look at magistus ad whole with these 4 new cards, and you'll see they got better, but obviously, it can get better still.
Since I am long gone and played the original Magistus stuff in Ranked recently, here's my insight: There is no way this archetype will not be competitively relevant. Konami printing a new Zoroa tells me they want the deck to play 'New Zoroa Fusion-control' and if you happen to have enough resources, you can completely lock the opponent out with the Zoroa Synchro or Mechaba on top. I also think you are heavily underestimating Thor Hammer. What makes Thor Hammer relevant is that it can act as Trimagistus, Vritra Magistus OR interruption into boards, Thor's Hammer is already 2-3 cards at once. I can definitely see it being a 1- or 2-of. If there is anything I want the Link-2 to do, it would be providing a way of resourcing (adding Magistus cards from GY back into Deck/Extra Deck) AND/OR allowing for Extra deck monsters to be equipped to a Magistus monster, like Theurgy tried to do, but desperately failed at (good luck EVER meeting those conditions). ...And while we are at it, could we FINALLY get a good ED monster to equip? Vahram is REALLY good against Tenpai, Ninaruru is decent against floodgates I'll admit, but just print that "(Quick Effect): Target an opponent's monster; negate it's effects."-already I am not the biggest fan on how the equip-mechanic is being put aside with these cards, though obviously I still love Magistus and still think these new cards are JustNutz!
The new zoroa is almost the same as what I imagined a good magistus boss monster would be like And it has a very easy summoning material too I wouldn't consider Thor hammer a miss, since Endymion is good going second Or at the very least, it's a monster reborn that's live pretty often in a magistus deck or decks that uses selene but yeah, it would be a lot better if it was a quick-play
@lefteron6804 1 new archetype that might get forgotten sooner or later just like the previous good ritual decks (Drytron, Dogmatika, etc) 🥲🥲🥲 or not forgotten but less and less used
Magistus is about the Spellcasters summoning beings from different dimensions. In other words monsters from the ordinary world (Main Deck) command monsters from parallel worlds (Extra Deck). It’s similar to why in ARC-V Rituals were not considered for their own dimension and Pendulums transcend all dimensions by starting in the main deck and go into the extra deck. And why D/D stands for Different Dimensions. Because these Extra Deck monsters are from different dimensions.
I like that the new Zoroa gives Magistus synergy with super poly without being a generic super poly staple.
It’s kindaaa generic. Any level 4 or lower spellcaster can make Artemis then you super poly their stuff away.
I'm so excited as an og magistus, gonna come down to the link 2. Love this support
still need the link-2 to clutch up and tie the deck together, but this fusion is sick stuff

So they're gearing up the manga-only cards? About time.
I think its hilarious the difference between the sky striker support and the magistus support
all these cards are miles better than what striker got
the first few waves of manga support were bad, the later ones were great.
I mean at least sky striker is already a genuinely good deck. Magistus definitely needs all the help it can get
