A year ago, I reviewed the Momentum 4. Now, a year later, Sennheiser has fixed everything I complained about in this review, and not much to my surprise, the momentum 4 are now in my top 3 headphones. And since they released a new pair of their more budget friendly Headphones the Accentum PLUS, which even though its their budget line, now only costs 40 Euros less than their top of the line Headphones. So, a comparison in my opinion is necessary, to see if 40 Euros more give you the much better Headphones. And for comparisons sake, and because a viewer asked me, im also going to throw the Sony xm5s into the mix as well.

This is not even close. I went to Best Buy and tried them all myself. I'm not an audiophile but the Sennheiser M4 is FAR better than the Sony MX5 or the Beats. Sony and Beats are muddy. The Sennheisers are clear and you can hear all the instruments. Bass is plenty good and thumps right out of the box. I bought the Sennheisers without regret. Best headphones I've ever had.
m4s are pretty great.
same for me - the mom 4 just sound much more crips and they also have such a nice deep bass
oh boy... somebody should help you test the previous ones..M3s :) Less of the muddy bass.. better sound overall.
I had the last three versions of Bose and I liked it, but now I have the momentum 4 and none of the Bose beat them.
I just ordered the m4 today, I was looking for more reviews even tho its already on its way and it makes me happy that based on your review, they dont disappointe!
I've found only one major solution to improving the XM5's sound quality. I installed the Wavelet app and loaded in the professionally tuned Harman-EQ (true neutrality) specifically made for the XM5. It made a huge improvement in clarity and soundstage balance, my only recommendation. Default everything else in Sonys headphone-app and use wavelet for EQ, it's more advanced.
Wavelet has Harman-profiles for hundreds of different headphone-models also.
wavelet is pretty good for getting great EQ results. Good recommendation.

What range is the Accentum Plus?
I hate the sound of the XM5’s. They are so dark compared to other brands and the XM4’s. I think the M4’s and Accentum sound way better than the XM5 in my opinion.
Nice video but maybe next time label the headphones during the audio test. Hard to tell which Sennheiser is which.

Bowers & Wilkins PX8 get rated worse than the Momentum 4's on Rtings.

Hello, may I ask? I would like to buy a top model of wireless headphones mainly for listening to music but also for casual use (UA-cam, netflix, etc.) at home for PC and mobile, so ANC is probably not a priority. I was considering the WH1000 XM5 (or waiting for the new xm6 model) but what I found out from various videos, from the sound side, they are not nearly as good and there are better variants such as the Px7 S2e (Px8 are already expensive for me). I just don't understand that they don't have spatial audio. It's important because I'm currently using airpods for 2022 for music and the difference is quite noticeable there (both for music and movies). So is it an important factor or not? I don't know much about it.
Hey, thanks for the question. This is only my opinion, but i think spatial audio is just a tacked on gimmick. If its sound Quality your looking for, either go for the Px7 or the Momentum 4.
@@LeechTM Thank you for your reply I really appreciate it. Can I have one more question? Is it possible to somehow replace the ear pads on the Px7 headphones? Because I wear glasses, the leather always cracked very quickly on my headphones. They probably won't put pressure on the head, but the leatherette is quite a problem because I had beats and they were completely fine, and within half a year after I started wearing glasses, the leatherette was completely destroyed. I wanted to buy headphones with ear cups without leatherette, but almost none are produced. Thanks a lot. 🙏

What a great review! And the cinematography is impeccable. An eye-candy.
Right now in Poland, you can get Accentum Plus for 140€, while for Momentum you have to shell out 100€ extra. In that case, Accentum Plus gets significant leverage over the "bigger" brother, especially for people who want a good sound quality for the money.
I'd love to see your take on some budget options from top brands, like Sony WH-CH720N (which seems interesting to me but I cannot find any coherent review).
I have the sony in my studio, but haven't used them yet.

Actually, in Canada, Momentum 4 is $170 more than Accentum Plus. Bose QuietComfort is only $10 more than the Momentum 4. If you're willing to spend the $400, I guess you need to consider the Bose.
But if you're only up for the sound, There's nothing beating the Sennheiser. Just pure class. Btw I'm a Sony guy and not Sennheiser 😂
3:20 sorry but maybe it is just the recording in reality on the head it is different perception, but here sony sounds like garbage.
l tryed personaly both at store accentum best of all second m4 last sony. M4 artificial and weak mid range but a bit wider soundstage xm5 high emphasis and less rafine mid section accentum best midcenric neutral and live sound as seems to sound sampless

I used xm5 for over a year and they broke one day. then bought momentum 4. xm5 were better overall specially in ANC and comfort department. I could wear xm5 for unlimited time but M4 although having soft cushions, starts hurting ears in an hour as they have more clamping force and earpads has more contact area with ears. M4 are may look big but they are a bit of on the ear instead of over the ear. Wind reduction mode in M4 is buggy. when turned on it kinda behaves like anc turned off. I hear every noise except fan wind noise. when wind reduction is off, ANC effecting but lets fan wind effect on ear cups feel indirectly.
I agree with you, I have Momentum 4 and it is not very confortable, I think Accentum Plus will better choice for me. BTW I used XM5 and Sony Ult Wear and Sennheisers are more clear than Sony Headphones

Ich liebe meine momentum4 seit dem neuen equalizer. Man kann ihn so schön an alle musikrichtungen anpassen. Mein bester Kauf 2023 als Allrounder. Der Akku.. ein Traum bei längeren Reisen. Hab nur manchmal Bluetooth Abbrüche

i like the shure aonic 40, but the momentum 4 are better. Not by much, but better.

You're lucky that there is a small difference between the Accentum Plus and Momentum 4. In the US, it is $230 for the Plus and $380 for the Momentum 4.

Hey Leech, how would you rate Accentum out of 100 as it is comparatively budget friendly then the other two, also if I compare Bose QC45 and Accentum who will be the better product?
79 for the accentum, 84 for the Bose QC. Id always prefer the QC over the Accentum.

@@LeechTM While being the cheaper pair of headphones though. The accentum plus also sounds better than the momentum in my opinion. It's like the more expensive headphones are using some strange audio processing. I have to say I am judging this from the sound samples you provided, maybe actually trying them would change my opinion.
Probably because it was louder and has more mids. I'm using Bose OE's to listen to this which are smaller driver on-ears that probably match the accentum closer and can't replicate the XM5/M4 frequencies
During the sound test, you hide your headphones behind a plant, and the music keeps changing, so it was a disgusting review.

At least not on my pair, bought a month ago. I believe it's an issue in either the early batches or in some outliars.

i saw they say Momentum4 has some bluetooth problems and easier to broken(can't turn on),is that true?
i had this on my first Version roughly a year ago. But the new one i ordered a month ago hasnt had any problems so far.

I've own 2 momentum 4 during the winter holidays and both had problems. White noise/crackling noise in ANC (high bass music), power button not working, bluetooth random disconnection. I went back to the XM5 who were flawless. I miss the sound of the momentum 4 since I'm a bass head (42mm drivers is really good) but I went for reliability at this price range. I use an 10 band EQ for my XM5 and I manage to almost mimic the M4

Mids are definitely screaming much louder on the accentums. No doubt the M4’s sound awesome but the volume is quite low on my unit. Although I don’t listen at full volume, it’s significantly quieter than all my other headphones. Not sure if a software update will fix this. Other than that I enjoy their sound quality the most. It’s just sounds so clean and enjoyable to listen to.
its just a great Headphone. I'm mostly listening on 50% volume, and its fine for me.
