Pentagrammaton is released in honor of Belial as a product of Shadow Records in 2020, 15 years after it was recorded. Pentagrammaton was recorded under miserable conditions in genuine affliction, torment and chaos above all in Necromorbus Studio anno 2005. Mixed and mastered originally & remixed and remastered in 2020, also at Necromorbus Studio.

This is great. None of that ridiculous post black metal shit. Just furious BM, simple and raw.
I will not undisclose details, but knowing even a small amount of their lives at the time, the final result of this thing makes total sense. It just oozes darkness and negativity.
These guys were fanatics who defied the limits of what is/was generally accepted in the so called "society". Very honestly, the swedish scene of the late 90's and early 2000's were the rightful successors of the early norwegian wave led by Euronymous.
Just to end up my line of thought... Ofermod, Funeral Mist, Malign, Ondskapt, Mortuus, Orcivus, Sorhin, hell... Watain even, to a certain extent. I'm sure I'm forgetting some bands, and also the french scene...those were the true purveyors of Black Metal on the transition into the millennium.
The composition "The Birth of a Man God" 24:40 exudes deep religious emanation. It is one of the best songs from all Ofermod tracks.
I get real old school Samael vibes (but with better production values) off of this track. And as someone who absolutely adores Worship Him, I consider this high praise!
The Holy Union of Ofermod create orthodox Death-/Black Metal like no other metal band on the planet. The texts correspond to the old hermetic-gnostic mysteries, which now illuminate the soul of man in the transformation to the Aquarian age. Besides Dissection and Marduk, Ofermod are the most creative band in the world.

laughs in any proggresive rock/metal band tbh. Maybe they are creative in Sweden black metal style, nothing more. It doesn't mean they are bad, but you are hyperbolic them so much
You want to check out Mephorash and Enthroned too...
Mephorash is crap and Enthroned are belgian...and they became a good band in the last 10/15 years.
It sounds great with massive riffs and the production is top-notch even in youtube!

@@Pestkrieg I saw that in MA moments after my comment, what I really wonder is why they rearranged some of this material into the poorer versions found in 𒀭𒋾𒊩𒆳. "A Likeness to Yah" is so much better than "Pralayic Withdrawal" for instance.
And the production is so much better here, really raw and echo-y vocals, high mixed drums, distinguishable riffing, storming bass. Unlike that washed out sound in Tiamtü
@@afz902k The album "Tiamtü" is good, like "Pentagrammaton" a bit slower and Death Metal. The album "Pentagrammaton" was remastered, certain it has such a good sound, the older version also sounded like a demo tape. Both albums "Tiamtü / Pentagrammaton" by Ofermod are great compositions.

I love the history behind this album. Apparently, this was supposed to be the actual debut back around 2005 or 2006, but the lead vocalist, Michayah, was in constantly in and out of prison before this and even after 2005 when they announced they were working on a new album. Shadow Records, the label this was supposed to come out on, shelved it and it never came out. 15 years later, here it is. Well, it definitely sounds like it came from 2005, haha! \m/

In addition to the original but remastered version of Pentagrammaton, the double LP / CD also contains a version with the vowels of Mika H. the source of Ofermod.
