- Yamaha have really re-worked the style content for this new generation. The old ones were getting a bit too familiar but suddenly they've almost vanished, giving the PSR-E383 a really fresh feel for 2024 :)
I enjoyed it. Wow that’s sounding way better than previous models. And the one free play style Ethereal Movie. That one finally made it into the E series. So cool.
I owned an E343 and an E443 back in the day, and I will say, this is WAYYYYY better! They're starting to put voices and styles that were previously only on S-series arrangers on these consumer-level boards, which makes me very happy! Back in 2014-2015 when I owned those two keyboards, I could have only dreamed of having even the Live! Concert Grand Piano voice, because that was exclusive to the very expensive arrangers at the time.
I agree love that concert grand piano best piano sound ever 👍.
Yes. $300-500 keyboards have features and sounds only available on models costing thousands years ago.
absolutely right!
Hmmm, well you've given it a higher grade than I did, because to me, that keyboard should've had all the sounds of the genos, but not the same demo songs as the genos. Some of the same old Yamaha instruments as was on previous moddles is on this keyboard. I love the drums and some of the guitars, but the medioker guitars are still on there, that's why I gave it an (f!
As a regular user of a Yamaha PSR-530, I can attest that it's great to jump on, dial in a style and just play.
I like that you used the word 'dial' ...I actually miss the dial of the older models. Personal preference I guess :)
In-ter-est-ing. I've never considered PSR life without a dial.
That style at 4:53 sounds very emotional 😭 which I love ❤️ ❤️❤️
Is the "Ethereal Movie"
Thanks Gearfacts. Most are the same from what I am hearing, but just programed with new drum samples that has never been on a PSR E Series bords. One of the new styles that I
herd so far is the jaz style with the articulation sax voice. Thanks again for another good video. Take care.
Yeah that articulation jazz sax is interesting. I think it'll take some practice to get it sounding natural. Maybe I need to listen closely to the masters of old, get a feel for it... glad you liked the video btw
not all of these are new, some of them have been on the e series from the very beginning
Damn, they put a new chimes in like the S series and the SX series! They really got annoyed with that old chimes sample, and the first time I've heard in the E series tho using the chimes as a effect like the yamaha workstation ones!!
What did I hear?! half of the styles are Yamaha PSS-51, and it was back in 1993! But 30 years have passed! Apparently old boards with Yamaha PSS-51 firmware are installed on Yamaha PSR-E383?! :))) What is the progress of Yamaha??? :) The difference from the PSR-E373 is almost unnoticeable, only there are more buttons on the panel. Yamaha is one of my favorite companies. Although I admire the sounds of Korg, Roland, Ensoniq and E-mu.
Yeah. The electric guitars and bass are still annoying to the ears.
Is there any way for it to just play drums as an accompaniment? Or is that a feature that only works with the groove models (ew425?)
You seem to really like this thing
I think it's a good step forward in the series. Wouldn't be my first choice personally, but it all depends on exactly what the user wants to get from a keyboard :)
@@gearfacts thanks for replying. I always enjoy your videos no matter the gear
One thing that I hate from PSR E series is they don't have dedicated button for Variation B.
This feature is available on models that cost more than $200
As a comparison, other brands always have their own buttons for variation A and B. It is hard for me to understand just adding a button may increase the cost. The past model of Yamaha keyboards also have dedicated buttons for variation A and B. Example : PSR 230, 420, 530.
Hotel amigo ese teclado yamaha es nuevo
Yep, released about a week ago
Here's a video suggesion, don't put video effects because the user can't see the video with those effects so please disable those
I was concerned the videos were too boring to look at, not much happens.
My ears are hurting from so much chintzy 80's theme tunes, but somewhere in there was a quasi Nirvana tribute??? Can't say this keyboard does anything for me, more into the weird What The Hell Is That noises, but each to their own.
Love the 'into the weird What The Hell Is That noises' description from another fan of those tones especially processed through loads of late 80s 1990s style multi FX units so I can process in parallel as well as series.
Yet here you are watching and listening.
There is indeed a style called "grunge" so that might be the one you noticed.
Pocche memoria di archiviazione per i live.
Prezzo troppo alto.
Costa troppo. Come tutte le entrate level.
That super shitty, annoying electric guitar sounds are still there. When are they going to change those?
Probably when people stop buying Yamaha keyboards. So never.
I guess you’ll just have to make your own keyboard.
Some of these styles have great drums.
Yes, big improvement in the drums definitely.
@stevehofer3482 Yeah, something that's very surprising. Because Yamaha is usually very reluctant to trickle down their voices to their PSRE keyboards. I wonder what voices will be on 483. They should focus on replacing terrible voices in there, especially the electric guitars. Also some sounds are low fidelity they should improve that too.
Yamaha has great sounding guitars since at least the Motif line. But the rhythm guitars in these patterns are still low quality, despite the drums samples improvement.
Yeah I'm sorry, but that keyboard will never beat the Genos. It may be good for beginners, but for better sound, I'm gonna give that thing an F, because I'd like to see that thing with all the sounds of the genos, but with all the demo songs of the 50's 650's 70's and 80's and with lessons you can learn on how to play. You know those vocals the genos has, the one that says, Get ready, and beat box, those vocals can tell you in a friendly manner how you're doing on playing, and if you need to practise up. Nope! That thing gets an F from me! Sorry PSR 380. I know you're probably crying but you don't get no (A) plus from me!
What an idiot. This guy is somehow able to determine $5000 flagship board is superior to one that costs $200. Gee, thanks for sharing that genius.
