    Sekt = in Germany any champaign that is not of French origin
    Seeckt = pronounced very differently, with a long aaa, like "Saykt"

    It's too much of a change in too short a time scale. Can anyone name a country where the transition from absolute power to democracy went smoothly? (I said a country, a colony rebelling and forming a country afresh doesn't count...)

      And even among seceding colonies a civil war usually follows their secession, either immediately (Ireland, India) or after a generation or two (US of A).
