My iridium showed up here two days ago. I really appreciate all the good stuff you've shown here. I'll be back again!

Man you must have the patience of a Saint...seriously bro how long did that take.
I could not be arsed doing all that for sure.
I tip my hat to you mate.
More like the curiosity of a cat. It's a labor of love. Thanks for watching. TJ
The encoders can not be used to do the sample editing, start end etc ? you have to use the touch screen or you can set it up how you want the workflow to be in global settings etc ? Thank you.
The encoders can be used for sample start, sample end, loop start, and loop end points. It's sometimes easier to use the encoders for fine tuning and the touch screen for just getting close.
Thanks for watching, Cheers, TJ
can it spread one recorded sound along octaves automattically at the correct frequencies/pitches?
Hi, It can pitch spread the sampled sound across the keyboard. As of the current firmware, you do need to set the center pitch.

Good video, TJ! The result is impressive, but getting to this result is terrible imho. So much knob turning. What is the maximum sample recording time?
Yeah, lots of knob spinning. It's not as terrible as it may look, but certainly could be better automated. Hopefully, it gets SampleRobot support soon. The sample time is only limited by available internal memory. Thanks for watching, TJ
What synth is that on the right? I’ve seen it before but I can’t put my finger in it.
Lower tier is a MatrixBrute. 2nd tier is a Pro3.
Hi ,can you loop a sample so it plays continuously,ie for a string sound etc
Yes, you loop samples. Thanks for watching. TJ
Does we can add samples to OSC like blofeld then use it like modulator FM to OSC 2 and 3 for exemple?
Oscillators are not available as a general mod source. Oscillator #1 can ring mod #2 or #3. The Kernel engine is very deep into FM and more. That'll keep anyone busy for a long time lol. Thanks for watching. TJ

Sorry i don't understand,
You can't do FM like the same way blofeld do?
@@overload8741 No, you cannot use FM as a source modulation from another oscillator in the way Blofeld does.
@@tjontheroad
Arf! I love this feature on my blofeld. I prefer that as classic FM DX synthesis. Thank's for the reply i hope in next update they add this option on this way wa can like blofeld add a sample to be modulator for other OSC or do FM between samples.
@@overload8741 Much of what I think you're wanting to do can be done in the Iridium's Kernel engine by itself. I last owned a Blofeld about 2-3 years ago. I can't now make a direct a/b comparison. I however did scan the Blofeld manual to try answer your question. Blofeld does FM between oscillators. Iridium does phase FM as well as true FM, ring mod, AM, and wavetable position mod all in a single Kernel oscillator. So basically, it just an expanded and more powerful way of doing things. Hope that helps you.
That's a lot of work. Can you just sample a long note and stretch it across the keyboard?
Yes, you could do that. Just know the further away from the original sample along up/down the keyboard you play will likely make the sample playback sound less appealing.
Thanks for watching, TJ
@@tjontheroad Thanks. That can actually sound good depending on what's sampled. Especially for hip hop and experimental related music
What stand do use use?
The Iridium is on a VESA mount. The keyboard stand is a Jasper.
Thanks for watching, TJ
@4:21 kind sucks you can just "dial in" to it with the big black encoder wheel.
or use you fingers to have gestures like an MPC live
Agreed, the large black encoder is sort of a mystery as to what it can or can’t do depending on what screen you’re on. The editing method I demo’d is the best workflow I found so far.
Thanks for watching. TJ
That's some surprisingly clunky editing for a premium synth.. Kinda off-putting to be honest. Thanks for saving me alotta money :D
Sample editing on Iridium is relatively quick compared to a lot of other hardware synths/samplers. It gets even faster once you're comfortable with the workflow.

@@tjontheroadhow would you compare it to a Kronos? 🤭
The Kronos’ sample section is a joy to program IMO but still very tedious.
@@CharlesFerraro Never tried a Kronos. Most of my sampling these days is done with SampleRobot.
nice demo but sounds like GARBAGE! it does not shine at all!
