This is so true, I know in the past when I've whaled to such a degree that the challenge is gone eventually, I just get bored. Admittedly, I've whaled on sla, but there's enough content that still challenges me to the point I've yet to even clear it. Great content as also Payne
Life cycle of gacha game or every game - players come and go. as a player I have to remind my self why I started playing the game. Did I play because I saw my favorite content creator playing it? so if they will quit, I will quit also? DId I play to make some guides for other players? Did I play to show-off? Did I play because I just want to have fun? Did I play to be a content creator? DId I play for views? and the list goes on... and what will happen if you met your goal/s or did not met your expectation/s? either way it will just go back to the cycle. So thanks to Typal for the efforts for sharing and helping other players (at least that's how I see his contents) and to all other content creators out there, for fun, for news or for guides, thank you all!! mostly thanks to master Payne for bringing us quality contents! and for lifting up other CC. and with that, see you all in my next game in terms of content creation! I would have added a third type which is used to gatchas not taking much time for dailies but they encounter the opposite in SLA, just for dailies without trying to be competitive. It's just too much compared to dailes on other gatchas.
i agree, its not one of those "5 minute dailies" games. i think this style gets eaten up by the KR population though because they WANT more dailies so they can play more of the game even if its a hassle for others
dailys would take 15 minutes to do if it wasn't for the gates, 15 gates and you have to rescan until you have whatever gates you want, i can easy spend 2 hours on the game just because of that, plus the S rank blue gates are absolutely horrible and repetitive, i really hope they add some more gates or rework the system because it's the weak part of the game for me
@notkiver I use skip function for all gates lol 5 low end blue gates usually c to keep stocked up on upgrade mats. Other 10 I use between S gates. Red/purple/gold. Still takes time but f actually running them. To much time
As someone who played SLA day one, personally I find the game getting more enjoyable and fun. Hopefully it only get better and better as more updates arrive. Also, thank you for your service retired SLA whales 😊

As a whale myself, I got one foot out the door. It's only due to me not getting good gear to get stronger. Got all major units and weapons at A10 but only sitting at about 645k power. Most whales I see with A10 weapons are at 750k and up in power
You can hit 800k + if you just upgrade any full Curse/Blessing/Greed sets with a high artefact score, screw the secondary stats, worry about them later
No wonder so many people are leaving.... the only thing that keeps me going is when Thomas comes out. If it is done badly only a mass of people will leave also I will let go.
I think one way that will feel like the players have more to do (for those who want to) and also the sweaty players would probably love is to change this Registration of score and just keep the record of the best 2 runs and let people do any amount of runs that they want and if they improve keep that score and remove the lowest of the previous 2. This could work on POD and Guild boss.
Both whales in my server have quit the game about 2-3 weeks ago, before I always had to swap gear for POD to get in the top 3 but now any gear I have I take 1st place. I'm glad but it's also sad that there is no real competition now.
I am considered a Wahle or Kranken, and I have still fun. Those Whales or AI´s (like NATTO) have x ammount people investing in those accounts and finishign everythign in day 1 to creat content, get most views and make money. Cuz Netmarble update it every 4 and 8 weeks, they cant make proper content, so no income. Now they make (supposely promo moves) such posts for what reason hey quit yapping yapping and 1 day later, ALpha is taking over with Typal xD Guys - play your account, upgrade it like payn says, and get better and better cuz we are getting so much content this year

Everything becomes boring wen u spend too much on it, what it means to enjoy a game is grinding content (grinding for growth game currency, resource management and hype for the new events , content and characters) . They leave because they were never actual fans of the IP as many have stayed because they love the IP and not because the game is "boring". They've ruined the game themselves by spending to the point that they've beaten every content in the game with little to no effort. Many points you've made in this aren't valid statements as calling whales "pro" players is wrong when no skill is involved to get everything maxed out by spending 100k+ on a game. Only "effort" they put is into the highest score they can obtain, which in POD doesn't really mean anything as at 400M is the cap for rewards. Also getting "bored" of a game within a few months means you never cared or enjoyed the game to begin with. It may sound rude but it's the truth and reality. I quit a game that I've been bored of for nearly 4-5 years but kept playing because I enjoyed the game so much prior with money spent into it. I play both SLA and WuWa atm and have enjoyed them both with the struggle to complete stuff at points and have had to work my way there. If this offends anyone as well just know that the truth hurts the most in reality. As a F2P I compete against whales on my server and am always top 4 as skill is required to beat a lot of things.

Any game that involves money giving you any form of advantage has no Pro scene for a reason is because skill is not needed when you can spend insane amounts of money to reach that goal easily. Spending time to figure builds out and learning things in a Gacha game doesn't=skill in the slightiest, espeically when you got an insane amount of expandable resources in which most people have no access to. Most people that can think and read the information the game gives can think of the same things in less time than the so called "Pro" players Payne has stated. An example I discoverd the POD tech way before anyone figured that out but never cared because POD doesn't mean anything. I also didn't have a full A10 team to do that for insane scores. A Pro player is someone who excels at a game far above the normal player in a game with the same playing field at all stages of a game.
Players come and go in every gachas and that’s perfectly normal like you said. That being said this might be one of the few gachas I’ve ever seen where so many players quit from both ends (whales AND f2p) this early in its lifespan, especially considering how strong and amazing the first few months were. It’s also probably the only one I can think of where a few cc are involved as well. Unless they found a better game to transition which is different from just flat out dropping the game imo. Usually I don’t hear this type of issue till a year into the game, not during your 100 days celebration, so there’s clearly an issue that needs to be addressed and shouldn’t just be shoved under the rug with the guise of “it’s normal”
my dragon fight was bugged right now i auto it since a few days and this time its bugged from like last minute onwards i couldnt do dmg there were no targed to deal dmg to anymore
The game will have no problem getting new players, the only challenging part is making people spend money on it. Netmarble has to invest more unto the game (the quality of the game should be on par on any gacha game), carefully take into consideration what most players want from the game and stop limiting the potential of the game for their other games. It's 2024 and it's survival of the fittest at this point, most people will choose the better developed game

I would also be bored as a whale because whaling makes games boring and easy. That's one reason I usually avoid whaling, because games should be fun. Only buying monthly subscriptions but I got 85k crystals and 28k gold plus all hunters. The game gives you a ton of resources

Why do people care that much who is leaving or not playing anymore? Can you beat more or less content if a whale is playing or leaving? I am in my 2nd month and the only money Ive spent, is for this Growth Support. 1st time beating Cerbi Lv10 with 1,8s left or last weak beating Vulcan on easy was so satisfying, that a whale cannot experience. I can understand why they can´t find any challenge, get bored pretty quick and leave the game, but that´s not the end of the game itself.

Whats the challenge of f2p? XD, the challenge is unironically just how lucky u get with ur pulls, no matter how much u tryhard, ur not beating f25 vulcan until u get a5 alicia or u just keep on doing dailies for 1-2 months until u painfully n slowly get better gear and more cp
lately it feels like the only focus is on new hunters so people can spend more money on them but there is no other or new content look at the guild its there but we cant even do anything there and that huild boss we fight it 2 times per week and get nothing from it ofc people will leave the game maybe after 2 years or so sla will be great but as of right now its far from it
Resources in this game are way too scarce. You literally have to pay to upgrade. I’ve played other gachas and this is the only gacha game I’ve played where resources to improve your characters are locked behind pay walls and lucky dupes. If the major challenge in the game is to level up and you have to pay to do that, that’s a problem. The main challenge in a game should be skill, not resources. As f2p SL:A is really fun but they need to give more resources for f2p and more challenge for whales.
Nah Whales will still get bored and f2p will say that game is hard, nerf them. Spending your own money not a bad thing but too much is bad if you want to enjoy a game. Most of the f2p want things easily but nothing is free in Gatcha so take your time

It's because whales are so stupid. Having cheat codes in a video game makes it super easy to beat. I'm not surprised that people who spend all of their money on a game and make it super easy, getting all of the best things get super bored and leave. The best part of a game is the challenge and the struggle. "Will today be the day i beat this level?" You remove this if you get all of the tools you need to succeed. it's stupid, plain and simple. Speedrunning yourself into finishing a game is stupid, when it's far cheaper to buy all of the things than to make all of the things, you'll never be able to be satisfied with this and always hungry for more thing opposed to the challenge.
Hmm, you gotta be unbiased with this. While the reason you gave might be true for some, I can see people quitting because of the games bias towards their original female characters. This game had a great start partly because of the the manga or novel and their fans, when they see barely anything that ties it to the story except for the obvious one it’d definitely deter people from playing more especially for the ones that started playing cause of the series. Imagine events that is actually tied to the manga? Instead of lottery, rock paper scissor and whatnot. I mean they ain’t bad and they’re generous but they’re also effortless. With the amount of money they’re getting it’d be expected to put some effort and creativity into events like this. Or just the consistent release of characters from the manga. Or even just making the characters from the manga comparable to the original characters(waifus) of this game.

@@PayneBlade The game feels like an absolute chore to play now. There are certainly excellent parts of the game. Speaking from a whale perspective. POD is the worst part of the game. It ruins my day. Especially after the merges. It can take up to 2-3 hours to get a decent score and even then others will outrank you. I watched typal do POD for 3 hours straight and could hear the frustration in his voice. The 2 new hunters is also a huge mistake. BOTime is also feels exhausting and unrewarding to play, sometimes taking 5+ hours of repetitive gameplay to achieve a good time. On the other hand, as a whale, the new BOTrials is super fun and challenging (for someone at 870k cp), even the story (hidden chapters) was challenging too when it first came out. For low spenders or f2ps, POD won't matter anyways since they likely won't rank high anyways. But in competitive servers (especially thanks to the mergers) you need to get a decent score. Which is why dailies which should only take around an hour can take up to 3 hours which is ridiculous.
@payneblade almost every comment and the video talks about boredom and progression block as the reasons for whales quitting but I want to point out another important reason - NM taking a different direction to what the playerbase wants. For example, take the Loli issue. Almost 90% of the playbase is opposed to it. But NM said fuck it and decided to go ahead with it anyway. Imagine if the game which you love based on your favourite manhwa and on which you've spent significant amount of money, being changed to something unexpected out of the blue. Your voice isn't getting heard. You lose trust in the devs. You get convinced that no matter how much more you spend, the game will never be the way you expected it to be. And the communication from NM being one directional makes it worse. I'm not a whale myself but as a dolphin I can definitely see this as a big reason for eventually quitting if NM continues to go down this direction.

What do you mean used to? I still buy PC games but in those games there is not like CP cap or x number cap for playing certain levels or mission. Just complete the previous mission and move on. But in games like SLA they don't make you but it but instead makes you make in-game purchase to complete content fast.

If this game can still rake in 10mil monthly on the nearly unplayable version (mobile) of this game, I think it is doing just fine.
They make more than it though 10m is only count when you purchase straight from the app, most of us purchase via website

@@Blessingsdok_24 In truth it literally means nothing in a Gacha game to call anyone a "Pro" player. Any game that involves money giving you any form of advantage has no Pro scene for a reason is because skill is not needed when you can spend insane amounts of money to reach that goal easily. Spending time to figure builds out and learning things in a Gacha game doesn't=skill in the slightiest, espeically when you got an insane amount of expandable resources in which most people have no access to. Most people that can think and read the information the game gives can think of the same things in less time than the so called "Pro" players Payne has stated. An example I discoverd the POD tech way before anyone figured that out but never cared because POD doesn't mean anything. I also didn't have a full A10 team to do that for insane scores. A Pro player is someone who excels at a game far above the normal player in a game with the same playing field at all stages of a game.
Players come and go in every gachas and that’s perfectly normal like you said.
That being said this might be one of the few gachas I’ve ever seen where so many players quit from both ends (whales AND f2p) this early in its lifespan, especially considering how strong and amazing the first few months were. It’s also probably the only one I can think of where a few cc are involved as well. Unless they found a better game to transition which is different from just flat out dropping the game imo. Usually I don’t hear this type of issue till a year into the game, not during your 100 days celebration, so there’s clearly an issue that needs to be addressed and shouldn’t just be shoved under the rug with the guise of “it’s normal”

The game will have no problem getting new players, the only challenging part is making people spend money on it. Netmarble has to invest more unto the game (the quality of the game should be on par on any gacha game), carefully take into consideration what most players want from the game and stop limiting the potential of the game for their other games. It's 2024 and it's survival of the fittest at this point, most people will choose the better developed game

I am in my 2nd month and the only money Ive spent, is for this Growth Support. 1st time beating Cerbi Lv10 with 1,8s left or last weak beating Vulcan on easy was so satisfying, that a whale cannot experience. I can understand why they can´t find any challenge, get bored pretty quick and leave the game, but that´s not the end of the game itself.
Cause we are a community and I personally care when people who I know had an impact on the game leave

Resources in this game are way too scarce. You literally have to pay to upgrade. I’ve played other gachas and this is the only gacha game I’ve played where resources to improve your characters are locked behind pay walls and lucky dupes. If the major challenge in the game is to level up and you have to pay to do that, that’s a problem. The main challenge in a game should be skill, not resources. As f2p SL:A is really fun but they need to give more resources for f2p and more challenge for whales.
Nah Whales will still get bored and f2p will say that game is hard, nerf them. Spending your own money not a bad thing but too much is bad if you want to enjoy a game. Most of the f2p want things easily but nothing is free in Gatcha so take your time

It's because whales are so stupid. Having cheat codes in a video game makes it super easy to beat. I'm not surprised that people who spend all of their money on a game and make it super easy, getting all of the best things get super bored and leave. The best part of a game is the challenge and the struggle. "Will today be the day i beat this level?" You remove this if you get all of the tools you need to succeed. it's stupid, plain and simple. Speedrunning yourself into finishing a game is stupid, when it's far cheaper to buy all of the things than to make all of the things, you'll never be able to be satisfied with this and always hungry for more thing opposed to the challenge.

Hmm, you gotta be unbiased with this. While the reason you gave might be true for some, I can see people quitting because of the games bias towards their original female characters. This game had a great start partly because of the the manga or novel and their fans, when they see barely anything that ties it to the story except for the obvious one it’d definitely deter people from playing more especially for the ones that started playing cause of the series.
Imagine events that is actually tied to the manga? Instead of lottery, rock paper scissor and whatnot. I mean they ain’t bad and they’re generous but they’re also effortless. With the amount of money they’re getting it’d be expected to put some effort and creativity into events like this.
Or just the consistent release of characters from the manga.
Or even just making the characters from the manga comparable to the original characters(waifus) of this game.

@@PayneBlade The game feels like an absolute chore to play now. There are certainly excellent parts of the game.
Speaking from a whale perspective. POD is the worst part of the game. It ruins my day. Especially after the merges. It can take up to 2-3 hours to get a decent score and even then others will outrank you. I watched typal do POD for 3 hours straight and could hear the frustration in his voice.
The 2 new hunters is also a huge mistake. BOTime is also feels exhausting and unrewarding to play, sometimes taking 5+ hours of repetitive gameplay to achieve a good time.
On the other hand, as a whale, the new BOTrials is super fun and challenging (for someone at 870k cp), even the story (hidden chapters) was challenging too when it first came out.
For low spenders or f2ps, POD won't matter anyways since they likely won't rank high anyways. But in competitive servers (especially thanks to the mergers) you need to get a decent score. Which is why dailies which should only take around an hour can take up to 3 hours which is ridiculous.
I hate POD myself and BoTime. Can't stand those modes
@payneblade almost every comment and the video talks about boredom and progression block as the reasons for whales quitting but I want to point out another important reason - NM taking a different direction to what the playerbase wants. For example, take the Loli issue. Almost 90% of the playbase is opposed to it. But NM said fuck it and decided to go ahead with it anyway. Imagine if the game which you love based on your favourite manhwa and on which you've spent significant amount of money, being changed to something unexpected out of the blue. Your voice isn't getting heard. You lose trust in the devs. You get convinced that no matter how much more you spend, the game will never be the way you expected it to be. And the communication from NM being one directional makes it worse. I'm not a whale myself but as a dolphin I can definitely see this as a big reason for eventually quitting if NM continues to go down this direction.

What do you mean used to? I still buy PC games but in those games there is not like CP cap or x number cap for playing certain levels or mission. Just complete the previous mission and move on. But in games like SLA they don't make you but it but instead makes you make in-game purchase to complete content fast.
