I really feel the use of magic in games has gotten too fake. Whenever you use magic it should be more energy draining and even heal draining. With necessary down time to replenish the energy. In other words some magic will leave you vulnerable. And elemental use is also too phony like an over played action scene in a movie. In games things just appear and disappear no consequences just making magic like button smashing and no thinking about anything else. Ice needs water, water comes from somewhere, you only have so much around you, keep using the ice spell and you will end up draining water from yourself too, aging you by years, understand the depth that is missed in gaming magic, like the convent box of ammo left right where you needed it.
That could be a very creative way to approach the magic in games! Sadly, they all want a quick and simple solutions, which, as you mentioned, don't feel special anymore.

The need for combat to be more realistic is a must. Hack and slash clipping was played out 30 years ago. I want to see where my weapon hits with accompanying damage and see that character move in such a way that defines the collision.

So more copy-paste slop made by big AAA corporations that are risk averse and do what they can to make the "game for wider audience" and in result, blend every feature down to the lowest common denominator.
Boooring. Modern gaming sucks. Gothic demo was a disaster, KCD 2 looks like an update to 1( in a bad way). We don t want mainstreaming....... Probably will keep playing old games in 2025 as well. And year 12 of not building a pc, because i have no use for it.
Only games in here that sound good to me are Gothic and Kingdom Come 2. That is a sad commentary on the state of games today. First, as a guy I’d prefer to play a character that’s male. Immersion is a lot easier for me when I play as a human male. Fine if you to want to play as a female and as an elf, tiefling, troll or whatever. But with today’s tech, developers shouldn’t force you to play as anything but what you want to play as unless the story can’t be told otherwise. And the “souls like” trend is just ridiculous.
5:15 I am so disappointed we have to play as some ugly androgynous character instead of creating our own. W/out a character creator, an RPG is just meh IMO
All these games kind of look the same… one also wonders how much RP is in these supposed RPG. It looks like they all are trying to sell on their art/visuals and combat. I guess the days of RPGs with mostly sophisticated RP are a thing of the past. Veilguard already looks like it is not getting anymore significant content, even though it is less than 6 months old.

Pity no RPG's like Red dead redemption 2 graphics and gameplay which was a true real immersive game!
Clair obscur and fable seem like the actual only true rpgs in the list. Maybe deliverance 2 can be added. All the other souls like arent really rpgs.
Fable looks good I hope they didn't ruin it by going woke. I hope men are men and women are ... well women. KCD II I hope is also.
Avowed seems like gothic and elder scroll games
I want a game like shadow hearts 2 and 3!
KCD2 FTW
There all terrible. Lol i aint got time for that
Lmao calling KCD2 terrible is laughable
@@jmax8095 kcd is gonna be great
So many Strong independent female main characters...
And the “souls like” trend is just ridiculous.
good thing there are other good online f2p out there. not really a fan of open-dead world focusing too much on hardcore combat.
Might as well buy the xbox game pass as most of the games will be released to it on day 1 of the games’ release date.
The Biggest Singleplayer RPGs ....and starts with 2 Action Adventures 🙄
5:15 I am so disappointed we have to play as some ugly androgynous character instead of creating our own. W/out a character creator, an RPG is just meh IMO
Getting really tired of the No Magic trend
Trends i want to see die is not making good to great games for both consoles. It's just stupid at this point not to release for both
Lot of DEI. The only one I'll try is The Relic.
All these games kind of look the same… one also wonders how much RP is in these supposed RPG. It looks like they all are trying to sell on their art/visuals and combat. I guess the days of RPGs with mostly sophisticated RP are a thing of the past. Veilguard already looks like it is not getting anymore significant content, even though it is less than 6 months old.
how hard is it to make good game?...dont really need that ray tracing high realistic game(bonus if have it)..just a good engaging game and story
You wasted 15 sec of my time ,you have Avowed on this list thumbs down bro,you should not have this on your list.
unreal 5 games all look alike
Hope all fable chars don’t have to be so homely. “Modern Sensibilities “ red flag statement
why do these games almost all look worse than the witcher 3 from 2015?
That first game Relic Guardian is not an RPG its an action fantasy game. No RP tomit.
