DIY Grill Platform Kit for Outdoor Kitchen

If you are building your own steel frame for your outdoor kitchen you need to know what framing method is required for your type of built in bbq grill. There are 3 types of bbq grills for outdoor kitchen islands. Type one and the most common is a counter top supported grill. This is a grill that will sit on the 3 sides of the cutout opening in the counter top. Some brands outdoor kitchen grills include fire magic, Blaze, Cal Flame, etc... The other type of grill is a platform supported grill. This grill requires both a grill opening in the counter top and an extra grill platform kit. The grill will rest on the platform, not the counter top. Some outdoor kitchen grills that require the platform are DCS, Viking and Lynx. The last type of grill is a self standing grill. These are usually not the most popular for a built in outdoor kitchen but they can be nicely designed with our self standing grill cutout kit.
