Was just trying to see how high the jack stands were, but got alot more info. Sorry for the late reply, Thank you! Sounds like he should hook you up with that lift if he's not using it lol totally doable on jacks though like you saw. If you have any question during the install feel free to ask. I'm happy to help!
I have a 2005 c6 auto 4 speed and the headers and x pipe fit perfect but the axel back exhaust did not line up and touched everywhere I had to get the pipes blended to fit correctly and when I was taking off the stock exhaust I couldn’t take the passenger side off and had to cut it off, is there any axel back exhaust that I could buy that would be a perfect fit?

I just installed the "Speed Engineering" long tube Headers and "Borla Touring" exhaust - I love it but, it is just slightly more aggressive than the stock exhaust sound... I'm thinking about changing to the "Borla ATAK" exhaust to hopefully get a more aggressive exhaust sound.

Awesome sounds great, I’ve got the same setup but a corsa axle back… I’m curious do you regret not getting high flow cats or do you like the sound? I can’t seem to find a video of both of them to compare how much louder it really is catless
The tuning process for this is just plugging in with HP tuners and deleting the rear O2 sensors. If you wanted to run high flow cats then you wouldn’t need to worry about removing the rear O2 sensors but you would need extensions for the harness.
Did you stick with the 2.5 inch exhaust or did you go up to the 3"? Fyi get some heat socks for your plug wires or get the ceramic. Safest bet is get ceramic boot plugs and and heat socks for wires.

@@jaylin2080 the only "tune" you really need is turning off the rear O2 sensors which you have to do through software because it will trip the check engine light. @@MitchCarveth im still learning so im assuming i put them on together at the same time. like put em together and the screws on both ends to hold in place
Yes, If the gaskets are aftermarket and have the open bolt holes on each end it’s easier to loosely put one screw in the back of the header and front of the header then just drop the gasket in and put the rest of you screws in after. If not, you just have to hold the gaskets in place while you install the headers. Can be a bit of a pain.

speed-engineering.com/collections/2005-2013-c6-corvette-c6-zo6-exhaust/products/ls1-ls6-c5-corvette-longtube-headers-1-7-8-race-version-x-pipe-stainless-m2
Awesome job my guy!! Im doing the same set up but i got the hooks blackheart exhaust............. Quick question you just had to only coat the new headers right? you didnt have to sand them or anything?
Thanks man, I appreciate it!! that's going to be nasty! I did have to get the headers media blasted before coating them. its best to use #100 grit Aluminum Oxide or Garnet Sand.
@@MitchCarveth thanks.. did you blast them yourself and how long did it take?
How did you tune it afterwards
I used HPtuners for tuning
How much louder would you say it made your car? Would you say it’s like a whole new car with headers
Shes a whole new animal, not only noticeable power gain but sound as well. Its quiet tell you really want to release the sound of America. I'll be doing a sound and review video on it.
Does the check engine light pop up after install?
Check engine light will pop up after installing. You will need to get your rear 02 sensors turned off.
How has the paint on the headers holding up?
It’s holding up really well
I believe it’s about half way through this video but I have a little update on the headers while they are out of the car.

Thanks for the video man , gonna try it myself now. Added Corsa sports but still too quiet
You're welcome! It's going to sound sick with that exhaust setup.
Are you in Jacksonville, Fl?
I’m up in Washington
@@MitchCarveth I wish you were near; I'm cautious about doing advanced - imo - transfigurations on my Corvette without someone more experienced being present. Thanks, though!
Great Job! One question for you Mitch. As a fellow 2008 C6 owner I have heard that there are some slight modifications that have to be done specifically for the 2008 since it has the LS3, but still the old exhaust style as the LS2 vettes. You didn't seem to have any issues nor comment on it, but was just wondering if you had any advice for when I do mine?
I am getting ready to order these headers and install them but still wondering about this part.
Thanks for putting this video together!
Thank you! The speed engineering kit comes with mid piping for ls2, ls3 and ls7. Once I figured out which one was for my car it was good to go.
@@MitchCarveth Got mine installed without an issue, sounds awesome now with my corsa sport exhaust
@@AramatOverlanding how did you remove the cats? Like what were the cats replaced with exactly.... it’s a dumb question Ik
@@jackedvette8258 The headers are long tubes, so they basically take the place of the cats.
This is a great install video! I’m about to buy some headers myself, how bad is the smell with the catless x pipe vs stock? It’s obviously going to be a lot more noticeable but do you regret going catless at all?
Thank you! The smell isnt all that noticeable unless you are standing right behind the car. I was worried the smell would come into the cab but I don't notice it at all.
@@MitchCarveth that’s good to hear. I’ve had cars with long tubes but I had high flow cats on all of them so I was curious. Keep up the good work!
@@bwill03z76 was the high flow cats worth getting?
What gaskets did u use?
I used the cheap gaskets. Don't use those ones, get the GM gasket for sure.
@@MitchCarveth thanks for replying brotha 💯
Mannn the sound of a loud corvette lol can’t beat it.
2 in headers?
what’s the whole setup you got? i want mine (when i get one lmao) to sound like this
Lol I have the headers with no cats going into Borla ATAK mufflers.
@@MitchCarveth do you need? to tune it if you have cold air intake and header like what you set up is?
@@jaylin2080 the only "tune" you really need is turning off the rear O2 sensors which you have to do through software because it will trip the check engine light. If you don't mind the check engine light you can rock it without a tune for a bit. That being said, It is a good idea to get a tune to really utilize the new parts.
What’d you do with the cats?
I sold them for recycling
@@MitchCarveth obviously don’t live in an Emissions state 😏
@@racerrick35 the county I live in still falls under agricultural/farming so we don’t have to deal with that.
Hows the cerakote holding up?
It's holding up great, I'm actually really impressed
Does she breathe flames?
Not yet. But soon enough 😈

@@MitchCarveth thanks ill be ordering headers x pipe and the extension for the o2 sensors would I be needing anything else? I'm doing this myself and notice something about the trans lines for automatic c6
Did you tune it after the headers and x?
I haven't put a tune on it other than deleting the rear 02 sensors so far.
@@MitchCarveth do you have a link to what you used to delete the rear o2 sensors?
@@dannygonzalez3678 Just don't use them and have to turn them off in HP Tuners to keep the check engine light from coming on because the ECU is still looking for their signal if you don't. It's a good idea to retune it anyway after the install.
The bung on the new headers is for the pre cat sensors? Thats a crazy relocation no wonder u need extensions. I was going to run these with just some turn downs but now idk that sensor would be pretty close to the outlet.
I love my arctic white 08 C6 too !!!!!
How much time? Hours?
I honestly can't remember, couldn't have been more than 4 hours though.
Thanks for responding. Your car sounds good!
Anytime, and thank you! Can't wait to get the cam in now lol
I have spent more money on mods n tryin to make my cars faster than what i would want to admit. I am just havin a hard time spending $1000 plus on headers. It looks like you can spend less n get the same results.
Agreed, that's why I went with the speed engineering headers at almost half the price of other headers for the same power gains.
Did you tune after headers???
Just tuned the rear O2 sensors out so far.
Sick looking car but why does your wheels say corvette? Do you think people are going to mistake it for a Silverado? 🤔
They say Carveth tho...
Great job man , i wish i could do the job same as good as you !, btw bro how much time did it took to you to complete the job??
does it drone at all at cruising speed ? dang it man your making me throw cash at my car
No drone at all :) I will have an exhaust sounds video and a review video soon. You will love them, the mid range power on this car has defiantly improved as well.
👍🏾 Nice are those 2 and a 1/2 Mead pipes sounding like that
Yessir 2 1/2
What time did you use?
I’m not sure what you mean by what time did I use?
Nice sound
Im interested to buy the same headers.. this is an LS2? Is needed any weld or i can put in my house? Thanks and nice video, new subcriber 😁
Thank you! Mine is LS3 but the kit comes with extra pipe for LS2 or ZO6. You can defiantly do this at home.
@@MitchCarveth and another question, the rear pipes are normaly 2,5", and this tubes out from x pipe i understand is 3". The connection is a problem? Thank you very much!!
The rear pipes reduce down after the x pipe to 2.5" to fit the mufflers.
@@MitchCarveth these headers do fit ls2 tho yes ?
@@6kilo508 they fit LS2, LS3 and LS7 ZO6.
Crazy. I have the SAME car, borla all the way
Sounds like you've got great taste as well
@@MitchCarveth yeah man, just threw on the same speed engineering setup. Sounds amazing 💯 I appreciate you making the video. It helped
Cool video nice information!
am i missing anything? did he not have any exhaust manifold gaskets?
lol I definitely used exhaust manifold gaskets
@@MitchCarveth im still learning so im assuming i put them on together at the same time. like put em together and the screws on both ends to hold in place
Yes, If the gaskets are aftermarket and have the open bolt holes on each end it’s easier to loosely put one screw in the back of the header and front of the header then just drop the gasket in and put the rest of you screws in after.
If not, you just have to hold the gaskets in place while you install the headers. Can be a bit of a pain.
I’m so curious how this vette is doing!!
I'll have update soon!
Is it the whole kit or just the headers?
Its the whole kit
What headers did you use?
Nice job!
Thank you!
Nice job brother. I’m getting ready to do same install on my c6
Thanks man! you wont be disappointed
Well Damn , snds good from here!! 👏🤙😎
