🙏🫡 yeah so unfortunately a while back UA-cam changed the algo so that vids aren’t promoted to your subscribers anymore, they promote them if they are similar to vids in people’s watch histories. If they always showed my vids to people who subscribed to me then I and all creators would be better off, but youtube prioritizes what videos hook the viewer into staying and watching more videos rather than prioritizing the success of their creators per say. Kinda confusing but in a nutshell, subscriber count is a vanity metric, it doesn’t actually mean that 200,000 people get my videos in their feeds, it just means that those people hit the subscribe button at some point in the past, even just from UA-cam shorts feed. Therefore, I think they should change it from “subscribers” to “channel likes” or something like that, as it’s misleading; and the term “subscriber” should be used for people who hit the bell button for notifications when new vids are uploaded, (which is what should happen automatically for everyone imo or at least put the damn vids into all subscribers feeds) but I digress..
