The fact some drivers will do whatever they can to give you a clear road, you still get the odd idiots who don't have a clue, but another great video and great driving skills, Drive Safe, Stay Safe.
I tip my hat to these men and women who do this stressful work daily. In these type of videos you see either how many people either don't use mirrors, or panic and get in a fluff when an emergency vehicle needs to get past, worst still...both !!
Haha, it's been a while since those roadworks were there, i didn't recognise till Wokingham station. I'm currently going through the application process for RBFRS to be an apprentice so this is extra cool. Feels weird when you recognise the roads on videos like this haha
1:52 - Really good use of an Exemption to make progress after the earlier traffic treacle (like jam, but stickier). 2:07 - Nice Deviation by red one (VW Golf?) 2:34 - Another really good use of an Exemption. 2:34 to 3:41 - Good Deviations by oncoming. 3:42 to - Good Deviations all round. Nice use of Exemption at underpass. And again at 6:25. 6:36. General - Brilliant works by cammer to make progress. I'm not sure if using cycle lanes is an approved Deviation or not, but it *should be*.
People are not constantly looking in their mirrors but should be more aware I don’t think it helps when there’s heavy traffic and nowhere to go, sometimes it’s best to keep moving and pull over when safe, as an ex coach driver I can say we had to do that also usually spotted in advance and would be looking for appropriate place to stop emergency vehicle would carry on without hindrance got a lot of toots and thumbs up from fire drivers & crew
Bloody he’ll how far away was this ambulance from the incident as it seemed to be miles away. It never seems to amaze me on how obvious these drivers are of what is behind or in front of them with their lights and blues and two’s going and they still don’t know we’re to go ?
Sirens not loud enough now if u have radio on you can’t hear them also unmarked vehicles don’t obvious flashing lights as on marked vehicles I remember the days of the old two tone air horns, you could hear them a long way away
Interesting, many people comment on how quiet my sirens sound. Perhaps it may be due to the fact that they are placed at the front of the engine compartment therefore the sound has to penetrate through the engine bay and then closed windows, I would hate to think how loud it would be in the passenger compartment if they were any louder.
It is staggering to see how many drivers take so long to get out the way ( move over ) 7;53 , for one . They either do not look in their mirrors , or are too busy doing something else in car . Maybe some are deaf ?
it seems like your siren sound isn't thrown far enough, it seems especially evident from 4:40 where 3 cars in a row all see you pretty late. seen the same in a few other videos. unfortunate thing to have to work with, great driving though!
The problem with sirens everywhere these days, they are located almost road level, you have a speaker thats shooting into countless bits of solid metal masses in front of you, in heavy traffic, thats massive sound suppression not to mention modern cars being more sound proof and radios. Its why you'll nearly always hear fire trucks further because higher off the road. I remember back in 80s when police bar lights had the centre speaker, you could hear them for miles away even in heavy traffic, now, its barely 50 metres behind you
For sheer audibility you struggle to beat proper 2 tone air horns...(well unless you have an American Q siren but they are toooo loud) . Problem with them is the lack of direction perception that you get with wail/yelp
@@Ressy66 H+S dictate that sirens can no longer be roof or cab mounted due to the effects of hearing damage than can be sustained by regular exposure when responding. That’s why they’re all bumper mounted or grill mounted now. That being said, the sirens these unmarked cars use are nothing like as powerful as the marked vehicle ones, they’re usually hidden away inside the engine bay which doesn’t help. Add in the probably poor visibility of the lighting package other road users can be forgiven for their slow reactions,.

1:46 never pressure vehicles to mount the pavement. 2:50 Do not clearly force other vehicles to mount the pavement. That is something you can be prosecuted for, blue lights or not as it was dangerous driving at 02:50. 6:25 unacceptable to do this against oncoming vehicles. This driver needs retraining. The reason for attending incidents is being reviewed. For example, there is no reason for a chief fire officer to attend a fire in a car when he can travel with firefighters. Why get there quicker and stand about doing nothing until colleagues show. There were a few fake ambulance vehicles being used in the North West for pleasure, the blue lights got the driver excited. He went to prison. NHS, Fire Service and Police do not permit this type of video to be made and posted to profit from it. It's serious misconduct, so all you and others do is help identify people and get them sacked quicker.
Not really. The electronic siren is controlled by the car's steering wheel horn button - start, toggle-through and stop. Sometimes you have to press a tad hard to get the desired result and therefore the horn sounds too. When correctly setup this shouldn't happen.

Love watching these videos, you really do see how difficult and challenging it is dealing with other road users and traffic.
When 99% of people move out of the way as best they can, we cannot complain about the 1%, its awesome to see
From New York Volunteer Fire Firefighter, keep up the good work brothers!

That went fairly well . Everyone seemed pretty Switched on about clearing a Path SAFELY .
this job would have too much responsibility for me, im glad there are people who can manage.
Actually I blame the bloody councillors for shrinking the damn roads and not penalising long delayed Contract workers

@user-ig1xo3om2x thank you for your comments, it's very easy for some to critise when they don't really know what training has been given. Thanks
Fast, safe and considerate to other road users. 👌
A suburb and safe drive, excellent!
So annoying when they don’t move over. Bloke pips his horn. Excellent Driver.
Well done to the red car at 0:23 that was a nice early spot and reaction.
They were just Broken Down .🤣
Great work! Is there any chance you could show us your light set up 😊
Yes, soon

Another congested day in Wokingham LG. Great driving as ever...
Thanks again!
Thank you BB
Great video as always!
Typical road works and temporary traffic lights, happens a lot in Leicester, suspiciously when April is just around the corner, wonder why?
Council Appropriations time ?
Oh hey that’s Wokingham again

Other drivers might have the music up loud, and wind can throw off the siren

Great video! I take it you are based in the Central Hub Area of RBFRS?
Does Your Siren have a hi-lo or phaser, or is it just wail and yelp?
Just wail and Yelp I am afraid
I think phaser is for metro police in London and they use it mainly for terrorist attacks or bomb threats

This Is the slowest code 3 i've ever seen
It's a code 3, code 3 is not high priority. A code 1 is top priority, thats a danger to life imminent call.
