Yay book haul!! I'm so glad you're reinvigorating your recently unhauled/cleansed shelves with books that make you excited to read 💓 And that Jordan Peele-curated collection sounds AMAZING. His storytelling instincts are so good and I'd love to see that translated to his curation of written work, too. A Tempest of Tea sounds fantastic--vampire teahouse?? Sign me up! The Gatsby film was phenomenal, I think it did a better job of demonstrating the thin veneer of extravagance covering over a morally bankrupt, completely hollow world that ultimately Gatsby was swallowed by. Leo's performance in that was beyond anything I could hope for. And that edition's minimalist style just feels exactly right for a version of Gatsby read in this age, where the Sad Beige Minimalist Aesthetic is the, like, imagery associated with wealth and class. Sleep Like Death sounds so cool AND the cover glows in the dark?? Incredible?? I love a serial killer chef, so Butter is going right onto my TBR. It sounds so cool and completely unpredictable. Can't wait for your thoughts on that one. I love stories about translated fiction, but I don't think I've heard of an instance where a translation beats out the book in the original language! Since you can read Mary in both Dutch and English, would reading it partly in one and then partly in the other be something you'd consider, to compare the two? Found fantasy is crucial for fantasy and nobody can change my mind. Ahhh all these books sound so good! I hope they all treat you super well in your reading, Olivia Savannah ♥♥♥
I am so glad you understand and agree with the sentiment on the great gatsby film being so good! I have watched many a Leonardo film, but I truly think that's his best performance. I'm hoping to read Butter for Catastrophe Club with the patreons, so hopefully thoughts will be coming in autumn for that one! Ooh, I will have to see if I can get my hands on Mary in Dutch because that would make for such an interesting reading vlog idea 😲
I love the sprayed edges of Before the Coffee Gets Cold special edition. Alien Clay sounds interesting, enjoy! It sounds like Edenville might scare the heck out of you! I recently got a middle grade fantasy called Ragabones by Daniel Tweddell. It's waaaay out of my wheelhouse, so I'm interested to see if I like it or not.
Sprayed edges can be such a lovely little bonus thing on books you love! Ooh, reading outside of your comfort zone can always be a little daunting but I hope you have a good time with Ragabones 😋
oooo one of my friends just told me about Sula today! I was gonna say I thought you hated The Great Gatsby??? 😂😂 Yes the Leo film is so good! I remember it helping me understand the story better when I originally read the book for school. The Snow White retelling sounds interesting and I love the apple on the cover lol. Mary the Birth of Frankenstein sounds good too 👀👀
Hahaha you know me too well, you called me on my hate for great gatsby before I even got there 😆 The film does a better job of storytelling than the book itself, I agree!
In terms of like paranormal fantasies, I am leaning towards stories about angels or fallen angels. 👼🏽 I forgot which BookTuber/UA-camr I found Nisha J. Tuli and I added Trial Of The Sun Queen in my Goodreads to-read list. That's a different cover of That Self-Same Metal. Thanks for introducing Kei Miller, Carmella Lowkis, Linda Cheng. Gorgeous Gruesome Faces seems like it is going to be a series based on Goodreads. I read K-Pop fiction books but I haven't read one that is leaning towards horror. 📚
I remember when angel stories were the trend and agree they are fun! Ooh, good to know gorgeous gruesome faces is going to be a series going forward! 😇
I am soooo jealous about the new Kalyan bayron book. I’m definitely getting it as soon as it comes out. I just had Homecoming by Kate Morton arrive as an anonymous gift
I haven't heard of Mary and the Birth of Frankenstein and it is not my usual sort of thing but it is TEMPTING me out of my comfort zone purely because it's Mary Shelley/Frankenstein linked lol!
I have been meaning to get Before the coffee gets cold so maybe now the pretty editions will seal the deal for me. Tea and vampires? Call me intrigued. I don't think I heard that book had vampires before so now I kind of want it 🤭 I really enjoyed A Fragile Enchantment and it was such a different book for me. But it was also so cute and cozy 🥰
Ooh yes, go for the pretty editions and give the short story collection a go! Vampire books are on the rise and I am having the best time reading them. I just finished a different vampire book the other day as well. I'm glad you liked a fragile enchantment too. It was very wholesome 😇
@@OliviasCatastrophe Indeed vampire books are making a come back and I could not be happier about it. I am going to be reading The gathering very soon by CJ Tudor and I am so excited. An Education In Malice has been one of my favorites this year.
I think i have Butter on my tbr. Still haven't read that yet. There are so much great books you discussed in your Video. A lot didn't released in germany i think.
I was like "good for you with the special edition if you like Great Gatsby" and then you said you didn't like it either :- D But I get the explanation, I haven't watched the movie :- )
I’m so excited to hear your thoughts on so many of these!!! 🩵🩵🩵
Thoughts to come 🥰

Yay for having editions you love!! And you know how happy I am that you got me to read Knife of Never Letting Go! ❤
I'm still so happy you enjoyed the first book in the series 🤗
Fab haul! Butter and the Frankenstein book are two that I clearly need to pick up! ☺️💛📚
I hope they will be absolutely brilliant ones! And that you can get a copy of them too 😋
I'm currently reading before the coffee gets cold! I'm liking it so far
Ahh yay!! I hope you enjoy it all the way through 😇 So happy you've picked it up ^.^
I didn't think I liked fae books until I read Emily Wilde! I hope you love it as much as I did!
Ooh, amazing to know Emily Wilde is the fae book that got to you! That gives me hope 😋
Tea and vampires… that book was made for you 😂😂 I really enjoyed Mr Loverman.❤ Great book haul lovely ❤📚❤️
It was absolutely made for me! Happy to report that I did enjoy Mr Loverman in the end 😋
📚
😇😇😇

I've been curious about A Fragile Enchantment
I've since read it and it's really lovely!

I loved lover man
I have since read it and I enjoyed it too (review to come in a wrap up soon) 😂
I am soooo jealous about the new Kalyan bayron book. I’m definitely getting it as soon as it comes out. I just had Homecoming by Kate Morton arrive as an anonymous gift
I hope you'll love the new Kalynn Bayron when you get it!! Ooh I have heard good things about Kate Morton 😋
I haven't heard of Mary and the Birth of Frankenstein and it is not my usual sort of thing but it is TEMPTING me out of my comfort zone purely because it's Mary Shelley/Frankenstein linked lol!
Literally the exact reason I ended up getting it as well. The love of frankenstein is POWERFUL 😋
I have been meaning to get Before the coffee gets cold so maybe now the pretty editions will seal the deal for me.

I've seen The Catch in a local bookstore so I might go buy it 🥰
I think Amy Lea is such a talented writer ^.^
I received A Tempest of Tea in my Fairyloot and I'm really excited for that. I so hope it's good. :)
The fairyloot edition is so beautiful 😇
Well now I want to get the Chaos Walking trilogy in black, despite not having read them yet 😂
Black is always better 😉
💜💜💜💜
🤍🤍🤍
I also don't like Great Gatsy at all but the recent movie version was so good!
It's always impressive when film adaptions can be so good even when we don't like the book 😲
I think i have Butter on my tbr. Still haven't read that yet. There are so much great books you discussed in your Video. A lot didn't released in germany i think.
I hope we both enjoy Butter! 😇
I was like "good for you with the special edition if you like Great Gatsby" and then you said you didn't like it either :- D But I get the explanation, I haven't watched the movie :- )
It may be one of my weakest reasons ever for hauling in a book 😇 The film is so much better, I do recommend it!
Do you read ebooks as well?
I do! But mostly for work x
