Tommy Edison, who’s been blind since birth, talks about how a blind person is able to watch movies, TV shows, and UA-cam videos. This video is a response to questions in the comments of the recent episodes of UA-camrs React ( / thefinebros ) in which Tommy is featured. I'm appalled by the stupidity of these incredibly rude people commenting on Tommy's reaction video. How utterly ignorant and dogmatic do you have to be in order to politicize a blind guy watching videos? I mean what do they think blind people actually do with their time? Just sit in a dark room by themselves all day being miserable and depressed? I hope they are just trolling because it's really hard to believe that anyone could be that simple-minded. Just remember Tommy, every time you turn on your TV you are being a social justice warrior.
Blind people doing things intended for sighted people is not being an sjw. It's just called adaptation.
If I'm not mistaken Tommy did specify that he usually sits in a dark room since there's no point in turning the lights on when he's by himself... so they probably got that part right :D
They're the same people that think not being able to see is 'permanently seeing pure blackness' soo...obviously they don't care to inform themselves, they just base their opinions off of pure experience & things they've heard randomly.

that's the idea of being inclusive. if they're including a person with a disability or other impairments on a certain activity to make fun out of the disabilty, that's straight up went beyond cruel. it's a discrimination. but fine bros and tommy had a good time making a collab and engage with their audience.

Tommy is great at rolling with the punches and dealing with people's ignorance and keeping the tone light and playful. The only time I felt really riled up was during the Howard Stern interview, and I consider my self at least a mild Stern fan.

About half the time I don't watch, I just listen. If something sounds interesting, I'll look at the screen.
Go to a tech expo, being OBVIOUSLY blind, and ask to try out some VR headsets.
Then act amazed because you are seeing for the first time in your life.

Ya know, if the sounds from the headset adjust depending on the way you're facing, that might actually be kind of cool for him. Still a good prank either way though.

Before TV there were radio programs. All the action took place in your mind. Same concept.
So true. In the UK, radio plays on BBC4 are still a thing. They can be quite engaging as you need to use your own imagination to "see" the movie in your mind, as it were. The are mainly dialogue and some sound effects.
Radio shows discribed stuff more vs tv movies today. They knew you only heard. So a bit different bud.

I also was wondering along the lines of this horror movie I recently watched about a blind woman trying to survive against a murdering nut.
I was wondering what he does when he gets scared. Like if he is chilling in an ice cream shop and all the sudden there is a commotion and everyone starts screaming and running away. Does he grab his cane and start running with the screams best he can?
Also, say a bug is messing with him. Does he swing wildly trying to evade it? Does he accidentally take out a few people nearby? Is there a stop, drop and roll kind of technique that works better for the blind? I would like an education on this too!
Elvis Stangroom if you have already tried it, that's what it's like. Only Tommy is probably better at it because everything he knows how to do he does as a blind person. He has 40 something or 50 something years of experience.
How has Tommy not gotten to 500k yet, he is such an inspiration and entertainer. You don't need to see to Experience the Tommy Edison Experience.

Sure you are missing *one * piece, and you might not react as strongly as someone who can see, but that's *very* hard to judge.
