Field Trip New Edge Pertamina PHE | Kopu River, Kampar, Riau | 30-31 July 2024

FROM SUBSURFACE TO OUTCROPS:
APPLIED RESERVOIR STRATIGRAPHIC CONCEPT FOR
SIHAPAS GROUP IN FIELD DEVELOPMENT & PRODUCTION, ROKAN BLOCK.
On 30th-31st July 2024, PT PERTAMINA HULU ROKAN, NewEdge Pertamina Hulu Energi Subholding Upstream and Ikatan Ahli Geologi Indonesia (IAGI) PENGDA RIAU in collaboration with GTN, successfully conducted a geological field trip along new route in Sungai Kopu, Kampar Kanan Regency, Riau. With all safety measures in place, the event was well-organized and productive.
Participants from Pertamina Sub Holding Upsteram (SHU), Pertamina Hulu Rokan, Pertamina Region 1-5, and New Edge Pertamina explored clean and diverse outcrops of Sihapas Group from the Menggala, Bangko, and Bekasap Formations. This field trip focused on the applied reservoir stratigraphic concept for unlocking the bypassed hydrocarbon within mature fields. Providing valuable insights into the tidal deposit characteristics, geometry, and heterogeneity, also reducing risks and uncertainties during subsurface reservoir evaluation in Rokan Block, Central Sumatra Basin.
