Hey guys, I managed to get so much footage that I decided to make this a 4 step process.
All the products used are from Blue Hors. I am a big supporter of this brand as after having tried literally everything on the market nothing has given me better results then them.
heres a link to where you can shop everything I used and more

I hope you guys liked the video. stay tuned for the next 3 step.
”Makeover to my already perfect horse”
jimin kiddo ugh ikr

jimin kiddo Ay army💜
Keira Hagan Hi bab 💞
hiiii uwu
The bowl cut in the horse world.
Ohh yass
tbh better than a backyard mane oof
Agreed.
Velvet Rose lol yea
LOL ... I was just thinking that Chase is a beautiful horse, but when I see that mane cut I always think of Moe and the Three Stooges ... then, I saw your comment :D
Matt says "tidy and fresh," and Chase turned and gave Matt a look of absolute disdain! I think Chase not only understood, but took it as an personal insult.
timestamp please!?
Therabbit Dunn 0:36
Yes, Chase is a master of the side eye.
uhmm...
you think Chase is dirty?
my horse has dried poop all over his side every single day.
And it's even worse when you try to clean it because you unleash the smell by brushing it 🙈
Mine does that too and is outside all day+night but he's a light dapple gray it looks awful!
okay. Mine is a pinto and her whites are brown with poo!
She always rolls after I clean her! 😂😂
okay. Same😂 Chase before is the "clean" example for my horses😂
My palimono does that, her tail drags on the ground, I hate long tails in the winter
I got a complete wit horse💩+⬜️=🐴😫🤣
0:00 me when I have to go to school
Benb 2013 same lol
saviour michael so what? Your 4 months late
Matt: He’s very dusty.
Me: Why! Why is his horse so cleeeeaaaan
I don’t know if I’m weird, but I really don’t like the look of those straight but short manes. They just look hella weird to me. Anyone else feeling like that?
i dont think anybody feels like that😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Me either
Hafi's land Ye people think like that? I think that too, to me it looked better before than after
All the horses I'm used to have really cute long manes
My horses mane is long and since I use a German martingale, it always gets stuck in the rings and I have to stop what I’m doing and take his mane out so I don’t pull it. (;-;) such a struggle but he is such a beauty with his long mane
Chase is such a gorgeous, handsome boy! He seems polite like a little gentleman! I’m shook at how clean you can keep him! If I brush my horse one day and go out the next day he’ll look like I haven’t brushed him in a month... chase is like my dream horse, your stable is my dream stable, and your knowledge, caring, very professional yet fun demeanour is everything I strive to be! I really look up to this channel!! Can’t wait for chases full transformation!❤️
Perks of not going to shows: long natural manes
Chase is such a wonderful horse! He’s so chill and trusts Matt. 💚💚
I love at the beginning how Chase’s expression was like “here we go again...what’s he up to this time?” 🤣 he’s such a chill boy though and takes everything in stride. Thanks for the tips on trimming a mane straight...I always have trouble with that 😖
So glad when you said you weren’t going to trim his whiskers ❣️
Those are important for the horse, since they can't really see what's happening at their mouths
I would be happy if my horse would look like yours before the makeover
Lisa_maria_v same here
Matt, you are SO good at explaining the important details! I love this! Plus it is SO relaxing after a long day at the office to just set back and watch! You and Chase are an awesome pair to see working together. Chase is so mellow! What a lovely horse! Loved the series about the move too, that was just incredible! Thank you for sharing your intriguing life! ~Peace & namaste~
Seeing Chase (and the other horses) makes my heart happy. Thanks for sharing him.
Best video on how to clean up the look of a horse I have seen on the internet, and there are a great deal of these videos. Thank you so much for the education Matt, keep up the good work. :-)
"Now if I left it here... *cringe* he wouldn't leave the barn. He'd just stay here." 😂😂😂
Matt I own a hair salon in the states and you have hit upon what I do with the humans haircuts as well to make sure the "weight line" is softer. Using the tips of the shears/scissors really softens the edge. well done.
Chase is having a spa day! What a gorgeous fellow he is! ❤️❤️❤️
Loved watching this! I love you and chase ❤️ I like to just spend quality time with my horse. I'll sit in his stable with him and play ✨
A horse looks better with a natural mane I think
Linda McLean I agree
Performance level horses look silly with backyard or ‘natural’ manes. It’s unrealistic to expect a grand prix rider to put up with mane getting tangled around their reins and being frustrating. super long manes are accepted in some breeds.
I like my mare with a natural mane, but I do straighten and trim it so I can plait properly as we don’t show much, just occasional mini ode’s
I think so to but when you compete everything has to be neat and tidy
@@Ds-bo2fn braid it then, it isn't too hard
New video, yesss 😍
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Ah noch ein deutscher hier
the Gecko Brothers hiii
Haha hallo aus Leipzig 😂
Hallo aus Münster😂😂❤❤
Ich bin nicht die einzige😂😂😱❤
such a beautiful horse, it seems so calm and nice.
I can’t wait until you post this video
I prefer natural manes, buuut, you do you Matt! :)
all people should treat horses as wonderfully and kindly as you do.
Lovely horse. Video was entertaining.😍🐎
“And on this episode of trimming my horses beard”
wow great job also I love the relationship between you and chase I just think that you have such a strong bond❤😍
Wow chase looks stunning 😻
"Chase hates that so were not doing that" ok but meeee with my horses!😂
2 Uploads! Wooooohooooo
U should do a video thats all about Chase like where he is from and stuff 😍😍
Yassss
So funny, poor chase wasn't convinced at first but he looks amazing just beautiful. I'd love a horse like him, actually any horse would be amazing for me. X
I'm new to your channel but I already love it! I love your horse! You seem to be really nice to him
Chase is so handsome
@Horse Family yeah? And? Equestrians are in love with their horses :)
I own a mare, i should ask her.
Friend owns a friesian stallion with a mane and tail to die for, he squeals when we trim his tail so it doesn't drag on the ground, he HATES having his tail and mane cut, he either squeals or stamps his hoof, washing and brushing his tail and mane, that he LOVES. watching him gallop with that insane tail and gorgeous mane I can see why he is so proud of it.
When your mom who has no business cutting hair cuts your hair.
Wow...what a beautiful creature...and his horse is a honey too!
Love how you didn’t cut off the whiskers and how’s bear doing
I believe it's illegal or against competition rules in some European countries, specifically Germany. In the UK there's also an increasing amount of pressure to keep whiskers natural.
isn't it illegal to do that anyways?
Amy Weatherald yeah that's what I thought as well
I knew loads of people hated it but never thought it would become illegal love how I live in Europe and didn’t know that
not illegal here in england! lots of people do it in showing unfortunately
Such a pleasant and happy horse.😎
Your horse is really beautiful!
Chase at the start is like "Oh lord, what is my hooman gonna dooooooo???"
awesome video , keep up the great work!
You exaggerate a bit about the hygiene of Chase. It's a horse so it's normal for him to get sometimes dirty. He won't get any diseases 'cause he has a little bit dirt on his skin.😂 Horses are not as sensitive as you think.🤔
He just doesn't want Chase to itch his mane, which is totally fine. And he just wants him to look tidy. I mean yeah it would be too much work for me personally, but to each their own.
My horse rubs when he’s dirty and gets bald patches if I don’t do some gentle conditioning at least once a week on his mane and tail
I Stan to many Kpop groups other horses get itchy and irritated if you clean them too much and are constantly stripping their natural oils... but yeah I guess it depends on the horse...
Lou he is a showing horse...? They have an even higher maintenance... and have to look as perfect as possible
Well my fav horse is supposed to be snow white, but I think she's some kind of coat changing Appaloosa 🤔
The best video to show how to clean a horse wich is not dirty !!! Hihihi👍🏻😂😜
That’s such a well kept horse!
Matt already done ❤❤❤
I love love love love your horse 🐎
its most beautiful when its just natural
This horse is so nice and calm
I’m going to go and give my horses a makeover right now after seeing this! 😂😂😂
Lovely!
BEAUTIFUL 🐎❤
I find your videos very informative thou ive never gone to the extremes that you do cleaning my horse maybe it’s time I did
I love this💖💝
What a lovely horse you have
Beautiful red color of your horse so beautiful and nice that you have the effort and time to take care of it very good
You could always add a drop or two of oil on the hinge of the scissors so your hand and fingers don't get so tired so fast.
Wow, he should be a hairdresser! 💗
That horse was already more than perfect I couldn’t find anything wrong with it from the beginning
LOVE IT
I love watching grooming of Chase. He is so beautiful.
what chase did at the start is so relatable for me!! my 15.2 cob does it and i just turn my back and do something else - e.g talk to a friend - and wait for him to walk to me cuz he *craves* attention like there is no tomorrow
Lol I love that you think the before was dirty 😂 yesterday I went out to my horse and he was covered with mud 😂 I fly sprayed over the top and left him to it ☺️
I thought youtube was broken then but now I see what it happening ehehe silly me =)
Sam Warrior saameeee!
I never seen UA-cam do a "this video will be airing soon thing" before.
Would you like a tip from a professional dog handler and Master Dog Groomer who also has show horses? Do not struggle with heavy scissors! You will get tired before the job is completed. I suggest a pair of Geib 'Gator' series grooming shears. You can find them in most larger pet catalogues. They are lightweight, absolutely razor sharp, and are joy to use. Geib makes several series of their wonderful shears and each series is priced accordingly. I have always been more than pleased with the "Gator" series which is the middle grade. They are money well spent and will last a lifetime.
Chase always looks handsome!!!!!!
Chase looks so handsome, your very lucky to have a horse like that.
I’m giving my horse a HUGE makeover 4 or more months of just rinse offs with the hose or just a groom! No good washes or trims Matt’s horse is clean as he was!
You have 1 new notification you now have another subscriber
He so handsome !!! ❤️👌🏽
Your horse intimidates me even through my phone screen
He’s so handsome .. 💗 I love horses
It's like a kid in a car " are we there yet?"
Chase:" am I gorgeous yet?" 😂😅
Hes such a beautiful horse
Matt your hair is so tall 😂😂!
Equi Dreamx hair can't be tall, I believe you mean "long"?
@@valerie1223 Hair can be "tall", its called volume.
Ro saliex lol
Lol
Am I the only one that prefers a horses mane to be long and flowing?
No you are not, Ive never cut a horses mane or tail (only to make it tidy with a light trim) the longest mane and tail in the stables was a Friesian cross stallion, his tail almost touched the ground and his mane was like something out of a Disney movie, if he was going out and they required a short mane, we would spend ages braiding it. Long manes and tails require so much more maintenance, but Im fine with that.
You are not. All horses should be like that. Mane is a way of protection what they get from mother nature.
me, too!
Zsuzsanna Racz he cuts it short so the reins don’t get caught in the mane. it’s safer and easier for everyone.
@@cloey7680 I usually plait the hair there, so that I don´t have to cut it and it won´t get caught. I think it is also a good option, and doesn´t take that much time. :)
What a beauty
Omg yesss
Can't waaiiitt
Hello I'm a big fan and I've watched every video
Who gave this man scissors
There are no better scissors than Kai scissors ... they are amazing! Will cut like butter through anything.
For getting a really nice straight mane bathe the horse first and then cut the mane just remember it will look shorter when dry and then go back when its dry and do any touch ups, gets a much straighter line then trying dry
one of my tips is when bathing i use a currue comb to rub in the soap
Take a shot everytime he says “we’re gonna start “ 😂
Chase: I don't want this Matt
Matt: *Makes fun of Chase*
Chase: You think this is funny Matt?
Matt: *Starts talking about the idea*
Chase: This guy doesn't know when to shut it does he?
Lil thing I imagined, Chase's facial expression was my inspiration XD
Would love to see some competition footage.😁
Your horse is so pretty
Was is only me that got shook when the music started because I didn’t expect it 😂
I had a pair of scissors that had blades that take away a blunt edge. Those are at a beauty show supply store.
What type of clippers did you use again? I love how they are SO QUIET!!! 🤩
"If I left it like this I wouldn't leave the barn and we would just stay here" 😂
Chase is a well-mannered guy, he can see how much you love him and is a trusting soul. You should go train in a barn-like Blue Hors for a few years to get the entire way of an Olympic level barn. You can learn so much there.Start learning how bad horses are as well.
Every 2 months?! 😮😅 Last time I washed my horse properly with proper shampoo and stuff was like, I dunno...in September maybe? 😅 And I've had her for a year now 😂 but I mean, I do shower her with just water after her workouts because she gets so sweaty (she's a coldblooded trotter), but now she's clipped so I only wash away the dirt on her legs and just under her stomach after her workout ☺️ She also has a long mane and forelock and I don't dare to touch it with anything but show shine and my fingers to get rid of the knots 😂
Thank god I'm not the only one then 😅
My gelding gets a bath once every spring and the only thing I clip is his legs so his wraps sit nicely, every 2 months is insane lol!
Well it's different for everyone I guess 😊 but he definitely did look good after this makeover... Maybe it's something I have to try 😀
I can only wash mine once or twice a year for competitions (reinning my other is a black pinto but he doesn't get dirty much and is used for barrel racing) because he needs to look good! Same with my barrel racer! I live in Canada too so it's impossible to give them both a bath
It probably has healthy and well oiled skin without the washing!! :) I think soap washing any animal is only necessary in "emergencies" like poop, chemicals, ....
Fun video.
Gallop shampoo is a must have when doing a make over
Haha, the horse is like "human, what are you talking about, I don't need this every two months, you do."
You should come to my barn and clean our horses haha Chase is so clean!
