  • Capt. Mike Hogan shows us how to use the Hogy In-Line Trolling Weight for Tube and Worm striped bass trolling in Cape Cod Bay with Capt. Dave Peros.
    For anglers looking to troll for striped bass tube and worm, the in-line trolling weight offers the ability to troll at deep depths without the use of Lead Core or Wire Line outfits.

    When trolling do like to go with the tide or against current

      Typically we prefer to troll against the current. This allows for more action on your lures and won't make them seem "dead" in the water.

    What is lead core? Never heard of it, but I've never trolled (but I plan to).

    Hi Capt Mike how heavy weight and how deep are you getting letting out 150' of line? thanks Travis

      I like either a 3oz or 4oz eight, depending on the area I'm fishing. The deeper the water, the heavier weight I'll use.

    I troll tube and worm on a kayak with a penn squall II 20LW and it never fails to get me some good stripers

    On finicky days the trolling weight turns the fish off. Maybe find a way to disguise the trolling weight?

    • @HogyLures
      @HogyLures  6 місяців тому

      On these days it can help to increase leader length.

      @@HogyLures makes sense. I saw charter boats hand lining 50 ft of leader of a drail.

    The bluefish around here would devour that plastic line

    • @HogyLures
      @HogyLures  Рік тому

      Whenever I am fishing an area that has bluefish I make sure to bump up my leader size.
