- This is the kind of mech game I’ve always wanted to play in VR. It’s a like a mix of Pacific Rim, Real Steel, or that really cool Netflix show Love Death and Robots. But this game has an amazingly unique identity of its own and I can’t wait to show you what it’s all about. This is UNDERDOGS.

Also the disconnect between your arms and the “simulated weight” of the mech/weapons feels natural compared to other physics based games
I agree, it’s just the right mix of responsive and weighty.
i feel like a mech game is perfect for this. in games where the controllers feel like your real hands, the discrepancy can feel weird and clunky. but in this game, your controllers represent actual controllers, making that discrepancy actually make more sense, both logically and physically
I can't believe this guy actually knows the movie I love that movie but the only problem is the movie ain't really that popular so I think it's pretty cool to find another person who likes the movie I like

Exactly, it actually feels like you’re controlling a very heavy robot, and it just makes it more immersive because when you touch something in VR, it breaks the immersion, but when you control a mech, it’s more immersive because it actually feels like you’re controlling something that can’t feel
i feel it’s worth mentioning the lack of motion sickness despite how you’re throwing yourself around at mach speeds in a mech suit. it’s great!
I love the cel shaded art style, reminds me of the unbreakable gumball.
Saw you post this video yesterday, bought it after watching about 2 minutes, beat the story on my first run somehow, and am ready to do it all over again.
I hope you understand that you are doing a great deal for the VR community, as lots of people review every popular VR game, but you handpick which ones are worth our time and so far every game you have recommended has been a hit for me.

Finished the game a few days ago and I gotta tell you: It feels like you're LITERALLY ON TOP OF THE WORLD when you get into new brakka. One if the best games I've played in vr TO THIS DAY.
I look at other people playing this game and then clips of me playing and think, “Jesus Christ im a try hard.” The best part about this game is you can have different fighting styles. Hit and run, jab swarms, wide swings. And all of them feel great. (Though I will NEVER feel anything better than backhanding a junk dog out of the air at full force and sending them into a wall, only to grab them and throw them the other way.
I've only played for a day and I get so immersed that my brain tunes out my in game human arms and all my brain focuses on are my mech arms

This is quite possibly one of my favorite vr games of all time, and one of my favorite games in general. I have beaten the game around 8 times, beat it without any new weapons or bashers (about to beat it without any addons, new weapons, upgrades, or repairs), and almost 100% the game.
My FAVORITE thing about this, even though it’s relatively small, is the dynamic voice lines. So, I fought with one arm once, nothing out of the ordinary. But then I do a mech fight with one arm and King says he’s seen me win with one arm before, i can do it again. GOTY
Fights are intense in this game. Had one like this. Bubble shattered where one hit will kill you ending you run, Left arm gone,Right arm critical, while fighting a mini boss and barley being able to move. Winning felt SO SATISFYING.
Dude I did that with the first real boss. I felt like rocky balboa.
I love how this game actually has music and shit to litsen to. Playing games like boneworks where its very eerie and quiet and playing b&s which has the same 3 battle tracks mixed with screaming made me litsen to podcasts or hype music while playing. And this is the first game to break that cycle and make some banger tracks

I have the game and I slaughter blood hounds, but I always die on the championship. And when I die on the championship I scream at the top of my lungs
so basically, Gorn but robots? AWESOME

The best quest 3 *AND* quest 2 game. Just bought it and still just as breathtaking and thrilling!
My only gripe with this game is the difficulty. I beat it on my 3rd run quite easily without even unlocking 80% of the gear.

I've noticed that you don't do full damage, swing your arm wider! two indicators on left and right are amount of 'damage' your arm is giving at current swing (two red 4-piece bars), they get green when you reached maximum damage your arm can give. Especially satifying when you have very powerful damage arm, and 'utility' arm fingers. Grab and smash - dogs fly through whole stage and crash into walls!
They don't explain enough in the tutorial, whan turbo, overheat and shock damage is - you need to find it your self.
Game is amazing, tho I wish there were more bosses, and single playthrough a little bit longer.
I wish there was like a list of other pilots to defeat (like original the NFS:MW), even stealing their mechs, tho I understand that scope of the game would be much bigger.
After you are defeated (ded), you can skirmish with your last build, so you can practice more without consequences.
Hope they make more out of it. I love the fact that it's realy good workout.
(SPOILER ALERT):
You actually fight only two 'other mechs', after second you are thrown into run and smash stage, where you climb up the city we see in the intro, fighting through a horde and meet last boss (bosses?), then its done.
I like the change of gameplay a little, refreshes game after two arena styled stages, but that is it, end screen.

I've realized that to me, in concept, mechs seem cringe but in reality I almost always find mechs to be super cool, I guess there was just one time when I was young that I watched a cringe mech series and that forever tainted my view of what in reality has made some really good things, i.e. Titan Fall 2 my favorite multiplayer game, Transformers, Code Gees, and this
I would get this game, but the two main characters are black so that's a deal breaker

Amazing workout, incredible gameplay. The fact that dying sends you back to day one makes me really play defensively while still making kills. I’ve made it to day nine by finally killing that mechanized rhino 🎉🦏

Hell nah. This game is fucking fire. I hate the other gtag movement games, but this one is awesome.
This game looks like it should be a VR classic staple game like beatsaber. I love how polished this is and it feels like it finally catches VR up with other types of gaming.

Tbh, there’s a LOT of down time in between playing which is a bit annoying. Also, there’s not a lot of enemy types, so it can be a little repetitive

I am LOVING this game. Art style, music, locomotion... firing on all cylinders. On the reveal trailer I saw people complaining about "gorilla tag" movement but your comparison to Nock is spot on. Locomotion feels precise and physical and I'm glad to give the joysticks a rest.
Absolutely!! Yeah it’s tempting to call it similar to Gorilla Tag but it’s quite different since there’s no vertical bounce! Glad you’re loving it too! :D
The stress relief gained from pounding a random robot to the ground after a long stressful day is truly spectacular.
All of that frustration from Jerry's incompetence at work just comes out when you hit that devious 5 hit combo.

The one thing I find cool but kind of annoying when you're far into a game is when your cockpit breaks and your HUD is all glitched and can only barely see it through the glass.
(Also, if you play the game with smooth turn on, and rotate while one arm is on the ground, you can slide in a fast circle, and it's both hilarious and somewhat useful.)
I bought it and really enjoyed the gameplay but I feel like I saw almost everything in too short of a time.. I just don't know what I'm missing.
When the junkdogs jump in the air at you, jump and double uppercut them like the zoo fight in real steel. It's so fun

I've been wanting more boxing style games in VR. The closest I've had was using only shields in Battle Talent
Just saying, the mod that gives your remaining arm 5x turbo for the rest of the fight is definitely one of the best in the game

I feel like this game should have multi-player. Think of it. Two or more players smacking it out in the pit.
It looks pretty impressive. I'm thinking of getting a VR roguelike, but I'm having a hard time deciding.
"Underdogs" is definitely a contender, but "The Light Brigade" looks amazing too.
It's too bad none of them seem to have any multiplayer options, nor any future plans for including any of them. That would make them easy picks.
That’s a tough choice! Both are top-notch. If you don’t already have a good VR shooter, then go with Light Brigade. But if you need a good VR melee game, definitely go with Underdogs!
I have Light Brigade and it’s probably the best shooter I have on quest 2. It’s casual and a difficult game. Honestly nothing compares to sitting behind cover waiting for a opening in the enemy’s shots to peak out and return fire. Also the bosses are challenging and the game has good replay ability

Best part is that every weapon has its place, the duel grapple strategy I did as a joke but it’s been my best run so far, so many different ways to customize.

My few complaints: it's a little short :') best it in 2 days with like 3-4 attempts? Theres only two proper mech where you actually fight another mech (those were my favourite parts of the game) and the final boss was... Underwhelming- Id lost my arm leading up the fight and still won :( other than that it's Stellar I loved it. Just wish there was more content
i got thisgame today and have plauyed it for 3 hours, this is amazing, and wait, IS THAT PROJECT DEMIGOD? I LOVE THAT ONE TOO, isn'tas good but, its pretty cool, but this game needs to be a staple game like beat saber and the iron man game for soem reason, it should come with a headset cus its just so good

Can't wait for him to finish the game and in true roguelike fashion, there's bonus difficulty modes. And the best ending is locked behind the hardest

I just beat this game and immediately looked up content on it. Literally GOTY, this shit is amazing.
So glad this is on PCVR, hated how RIGS was PSVR exclusive cause that game was awesome... but the PSVR was not, and quest exclusivity is just as bad as epic or any other kind of exclusivity
I was able to get an addon that overheats an enemy and another that zaps the enemy. So i could *MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA* my way through the game by rapidly attacking anything and it couldnt do anything because it was constantly zapped and overheated. Lmao.
If you play "Robo Recall" before, there is nothing new over here. I appreciated that new game but for me is like a step back in VR games. If we have so "awesome AI" why we don't have anything better than Alyx so far?
It makes me sad every time I see an Oculus-exclusive VR game, because I don't have the patience to figure out how to run it with my Index with third-party software and such. Otherwise this game and Stormlands and a couple of others would totally be on my list of games to play.
This game is fun as fuck. The feel of uppercutting a dog into the air and then double slamming them back into the ground is nigh anime level combat. Unfortunately, you can fuck your arms up really quick if you're not careful. I did 4.5 hours, and my arms are still hurting after 5 days straight

I played this at a friends house a few days ago. Got to the first boss and was getting my ass whooped until my left arm was gone and my bubble was at 1 hp. So I had only one arm to fight with, and only half mobility, while he was at almost full hp
Somehow I managed to beat him by going full Minecraft on his bubble. I have no idea how I did that shit
My only complaint is that moving sideways is nearly impossible for me
I get physics based mech combat great 100% behind that but what is with it just being gorilla tag movement like that so annoying why cant we just get a standing mech so u can crouch and duck under attacks it just seems as if all these mech games just dont want to do a full mech like in iron rebellion's your just a tank gun with legs and in this game you are just a torso why cant we just get a full suit

Man I wish these games were playable on actual PCVR headsets like the Index. Facebook is awful.
