Glad to see that you're still making videos and seem happy. It's been a year or two since I last watched you guys... Back then you had your daughter with you. Hope you and your family is doing well. Happy I clicked on your video, well put together along with some amazing landscape. Smiles from Sweden
Good to hear from you. Ya all is well, Sammie is busy with university and work. I go live every now and then, look for me going live, I would love to talk to you again.
Just moved from there. Whiskey Town Lake and the famous Shasta Lake were super low….it honestly looked like they were drying up before our eyes. Docks had to be moved. In certain parts, you can drive on the old lake bed. Sucked being dry, checking your phone in the middle of your old swimming spot.
I noticed Jeremy’s video is different quality than your footage here on the same day. What equipment do you and Jeremy use it looks way different here. Jeremy’s almost like 4K quality.
I wish someone would do some amazing underwater footage with an underwater drone or submarine of some sort. Would be cool to see! Knowing there used to be a town here
My great-grandparents met when my great-grandmother, Mary Desmond, was living at her brother Dennis's stage stop in Oak Bottom in 1862. Our great-grandfather owned a saloon in Weaverville. When they got married, they changed it to a hotel, which is now the Weaverville Hotel. Do you know if the old stage stop is beneath the Oak Bottom marina or campground?
Love the collaboration! Keep them coming!

Love how the video started out. Nice intro~
Thank you. I thought it would be funny.
Very very well done video!
Thank you
That asphalt has held up pretty good!
That's what I was thinking
Good film! Thank you.
Always a favorite collaboration between historians. Your chemistry flows nicely together.
No doubt that Jeremy will bring the facts like always. Great video, I can’t wait to see Tuggle’s.
Incredible!
This is freaking amazing to see and unreal that Whiskeytown Lake is so low! I can’t wait for Tuggle’s article and video.
This is incredible!
Love this!
Almost a mirror image of Tuggle's video. This is great. Different film stock though.
Ya I filmed toward Oak Bottom and Jeremy film away.

I believe they lower the level of the lake for winter for erosion reasons.

my grandparents owned 160 acres on Clearcreek just off 299. near the road that takes you to the powerplant.

I am using my Samsung S21 Ultra and Jeremy is using a Go Pro with 4K so ya you are right.

I am not sure but that is a great question. I will try to find out.
When was this video filmed?
Last weekend
The background music is too loud and ruins the narration. Other than that, really cool history of the road!
Awesome!
