Absolutely stunning! Hats off to Brett & his Team. South Australia on the world map! (to have an importunity to be part of the project would be unbelievable! )
@HAlexVR I agree with @MaxTurolla... its a neat concept but ridiculous in practice. The only difference is the size of the vehicle and a person is actually in the seat compared to a small competition FPV Race Drone. When an Airspeeder travels over 180 mph, starts pulling G's, and the machines test the abilities of the pilots against the clock then I'll be impressed!!
I'm very much into fpv drone racing and thinking about this being a reality to the performance of fpv drone racing is a pretty terrifying thought. Every race ive ever been too has a quite a number of very skilled pilots going home with there drones in pieces. Now imagine crashing in a manned drone at 200 mph about every race will be several contestants ending up in pieces.
Flying cars could enhance mobility for individuals in remote or underserved areas, where traditional infrastructure is lacking or inefficient. This technology could provide a critical link to essential services, including medical care, education, and employment opportunities, thereby improving the quality of life and economic prospects for those communities

good luck being the first in this race, the competition already exists (e.g. Drone Champions AG, maybe others...) :) but we will be happy to see who officially wins... thumbs up for amazing pioneering :)
I would be more than grateful to get an opportunity to help establish this new Motorsport and would be honoured to play my pat, no matter how small, as the knowledge we gain throughout development would be astronomical, not only in terms of the impact it may have within our society but more importantly a chance to teach us more about nature and our environment of which we may have otherwise been completely oblivious too. To learn and become better connected.
This competition would help a lot to push the technology required for personal VTOL mobility. When I see different VTOL designs, most of them seem wrong, not convincing (with few exceptions), this instead looks like each part is in synchrony with the rest of the parts. Not like VTOL designs where they add 4 propellers than are only used to take off or with bad aerodynamic designs or fly angles. Here we can remplace the H2 turbine with a less powerful (but more efficient) fuel cell, increase the size of the propellers and wing surfaces, this will reduce the speed but become less noisy and controllable. Exactly what a personal flying vehicle needs.
Its great to think how this series of racing tech can begin the powerhouse of evtol and uam in the future. Sucks to see people who take this too literally and dont realise that motorsport drove the automotive industry
Interesting idea. What would the courses be like? Would they be some form of roundy-round with the spectators below or at the sides? Or point-to-point, over hundreds of miles of desert and mountains? Either way, the speeders would be visible from so far off that it might make sense to not charge admission to see the race at all - but if a fan wanted to truly experience it, with in-vehicle cameras, commentators, instant replays, and all the other enhancements of Big Time Sports, he'd pay for that.
Is it supposed to have a small battery to take off that gets charged by the jet in forward flight? It seems like taking off and other maneuvers would be pretty hard if you have to rev the jet to get power to the motors.

Nice Cartoon and a great idea, I would avoid comparisons with F1, F1 is so boring now. I love the idea and would go to watch it (sadly I'm far too old to drive one) but which countries would allow it with the H& S nazis in control, look how they almost eliminated pilon racing. Personally, I think the box wing and ducted rotors is the only way to go for flying cars/taxis and cannot wait it see it when/if it happens.
Interesting idea, but you should clearly state somewhere it's an IDEA, not a working aircraft. 2 questions: 1) Can you tell me more about this unprecedented "1000kw (one MILLION watts) generator you stated this eVTOL will utilize? 2) How will the 8" motors seen @ 0:19 not melt into lava when you run one million watts through it to push it to 225mph?
These still all electric or are they going to be hybrid that is powered by a mini turbine engine as well ti provide thrust out the rear for higher speeds?

there are many other power sources and generators that are smaller, make less hp and produce far more KW. just FYI.
