This was so lovely and beautiful, amazing job!!! I'm just wondering, do you use a belting/chest range for this song and other covers you upload, or do you use a really strong mixed voice?
This song is quite high and more classical, so I was using a lot less chest voice than I usually do in my other videos, there was a lot of mixed/head voice in this. E.g 'silent night holy night' was chest voice, 'all is' was head voice and 'calm' was back to chest voice. And the whole line 'sleep in heavenly peace' was mixed/head voice. My other covers are mostly chest voice except for the occasional high note or when I feel like adding contrast :) I don't fully understand all of this stuff though haha
Jen McPherson Thank you for the insight :) I sing as well, in choir and on my own, so I'm always wondering where people's ranges are, haha. I think you do a great job, and it's all how it feels after all: I noticed the more classical tone but you have such an impressive range and blend I could barely tell the switches. I hope I have as strong a head voice someday! Happy holidays :)
I've been in choirs most of my life too, I think they make you a better, more versatile singer. I am most definitely a soprano haha I'd like my voice to be a bit lower but you've got to work with what you've got! Also I think the room I'm singing in is very forgiving!! Sometimes I'll record something and think it doesn't sound very good but then when I listen to it, it sounds fine. Keep singing :) and happy holidays to you too
