- California College of the Arts proudly announces its official video in the national It Gets Better Project youth-suicide prevention campaign.
The just-over-seven-minute video, filmed, directed, and edited by Photography student Yoni Klein (with graphic design by student Nick Navarro), features CCA alumni, faculty, staff, and students who share personal messages about the benefits of living today as an openly lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, or queer (LGBTQ) person.
The goal of project is to send positive messages to those LGBTQ persons who are struggling with their identify, assuring them that things will get better.
The video project, part of the college's ongoing commitment to increasing diversity at CCA, was produced by the Communications Office under the direction of Senior Marketing Manager Clay Walsh, Web Editor and Content Manager Jim Norrena, and Communications Associate Sarah Owens.
The 24 subjects represent a diverse cross-section of the CCA community (programs of study, gender, age, ethnicity).

Thank you for all of the hard work, honesty and love you all put into this video.
@dragade101 We're so proud of this video! And we're the first art college in the United State to have a collegewide representational video. I hope you find it was worth waiting for!
Thank you.
Beautiful video, thank you!
Thanks for producing this. Beautiful job!
Great work you guys!
I love it. We are not alone. Just wait and see how wonderful life can be when you get to be who you are.

Hey, there's a great event at CCA February 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Timken Lecture Hall on the SF campus to celebrate this video and meet some of the participants. It's FREE and open to the public. Visit the California College of the Arts web calendar for details.
@hernalexito I know, right? But don't think for a second invitations weren't sent out left and right. Truth be known, it's an unfortunate omission in the college's representation, but it wasn't for lack of trying, I can assure you. I hope this "issue" comes up at this Friday's event in Timken Hall (from 6-8 p.m.) so that we can assure folks diversity representation in the filming was placed highest. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)
@CCAArts do you think in three years you have room for me? Because this is now the perfect place, I've always loved art and had to hide myself in a way, plus I'm moving to CA in three years, guess where I'll be applying for Collage?
where are my dark queers at ? lol
