The fact that Shuga was clearly cast as a "filler queen" but ended up being more fierce and talented than the producers expected so they had to shoehorn her elimination to save Silky and Vanjie.

Yep. I was on Silky's side in the beginning cause Yvie was coming for her out of nowhere (AS ALWAYS) but God damn Silky was so annoying and tone deaf that whole season. I can't believe how she got away with so many AWFUL looks. I get it, you are a poor queen but that's not an excuse. Yvie was RIGHT THERE.
The same is happening with Kandy now. I like her, but a lot of people definitely don’t. She’s being shoved down our throats.

The critique of Pastique Tiara using her accent to her advantage when Jujube and Ongina NEVER had that critique is laughable.
I know right... and especially if you learn a foreign language, it is so difficult to relearn how to move your mouth to create the correct accent for the language. Plastique genuinely could of just slipped into her natural way of speaking from nerves. Take it from me, I’ve lived in England for 15 years and even spent most of my school years here yet when I get nervous or scared my Italian accent slips out.

To add onto those points, I have a Kenyan friend who explained to me that they often cover/"mask" their Kenyan accent with great effort in order to better blend into American society, so it's entirely possible for someone speaking a second language to slip in and out of their typical accent. The attitudes displayed toward Plastique Tiara in general on this season just seemed so rotten and nigh on prejudiced, and to be honest, a lot of it felt like envy to me. :'//
and the judges always tell the queens that speak another language to amp it up and do that more
especially insensitive considering that Plastique hadn't been living in the US for more than a decade, while Ongina and Jujubee were born there.
It's like with Eureka constantly using the baby accent when in doubt, or shitty pie using the old lady accent when not slaying the competition.
Aside from that, I have a general problem with how asian queens are portrayed/edited in rpdr, because I sometimes get the impression that they are only there because of tokenism and that does not sit well with me. Ongina, Manilla, Jujubee, Kim Chi & Raja are probably the only asian queens that somewhat got a fair chance of showing who they are, but queens like Rock, Plastique, Shitzu, Jiggly, Vivienne Pinay, Gia & Yuhua were poorly portrayed and oftentimes overlooked.
Silky was awful in that lip sync. I still don't understand it.
They made it _very_ obvious that they were keeping Silky for drama and TV.. She did not deserve to stay that lip synch was garbage, mama.
Let's be honest she was awful all season. It's like they kept her because they thought she would be a gan favourite... that backfired badly

They kept her because they knew she would be ripped to shreds by the fans just like Phi Phi or Roxxxy and that people would hatewatch the shit out of her. They knew exactly what they were doing which makes it ten times more disgusting because they used her for views and money while throwing her to the wolves

I actually ended up really liking Scarlet that season and Im still dumbfounded at her elimination. Like she wasn't the best but she wasn't the worst as Detox would of said.
And even there, sure her btm placement was deserved especially because she fell lmao, but then you have vanjie who did the same thing as in Trumo the rusical by never changing her facials really and then she doesn’t get btm 2 but Raja does for the same reasons as in the said rusical? That didn’t make sense
I really liked Scarlet and I don't understand why everybody always calls her a villain and talks about her as though all of Drag Race fandom hates her and thinks she's evil. I loved her, and I don't know where people get that she's so awful?
Scarlet was my favorite S12 queen! I was heartbroken to see her go like that, specially when she did so well in her lipsync. Her runways were on point, she nailed the Halloween Ball, had a win on her record, while Rajah was constantly in the bottom and just didn't stand out as much as Scarlet. Idk why some call Scarlet a villain when Rajah exists. Scarlet wasn't perfect, but had tons of charisma and was charming, had an underdog storyline and was talented enough to have lasted longer. I will never forgive Ru for her elimination.
scarlet's elimination was really when i was done with the season. i really like rajah too but scarlet turned it so hard in the lip sync for the queen she is and did not deserve to go out like that :/ i still love when she cut off her dress lol. and rajah went out right after when scarlet couldve gone sm farther if she survived that week. it was just so sad

Rajah just talked shit behind the cameras and could not take constructive criticism. even towards the end at the reunion, it didnt seem fair when brook lynn said they all hated her

@@upmysIeeves Nobody hates Silky. Most people just didn't like her behavior during the season (which, as we've seen, can be dramatized to the heavens with editing. Even if her untucked moments were... 😬).
She is obviously a super talented makeup artist. Her face was always BEAT even when her outfits were lacking. And I'm sure she can put up a damn show if i go to see her.
So yeah, it's a matter of perspective.
the look Brooke Lynn gave the judges in the makeover episode when Vanjie didn’t win, she was like ‘Bitch what? You’re not serious’, she knew that she didn’t deserve that win and even mentioned it in Untucked so the production in this episode is just 😡🤯
They probably gave brooke the win so there can be conflict between them and then next episode they'll lip sync. Perfect storyline 💅

ALSO I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID IN THE SCARLET ELIMINATION PART, she was painted as delusional, almost in a milk way by the other queens when she did a good job, they made fun of her, she was excluded multiple times, and finally, her entire team threw her under the bus. she really was the underdog at that point, and sending her home when she did an amazing job in the lipsync was pure robbery, and as you said, didn’t make sense with her storyline

For me, the nail in the coffin was Silky being overrepresented in confessionals and drama. I became very very very tired of her stupid feud with Yvie after a few episodes
Literally she was so ableist as well. Like saying Yvie shouldn't be there because she has EDS. Disgusting.
How was Scarlet ever too confident or arrogant. She was obviously joking about it in a sarcastic way. She came across as charismatic at very least.
She knew she was good and she had fun with it. The show only painted her as delusional cause production and Ru decided she shouldn't be allowed to shine. The show obviously didn't like her because there have been other, less talented queens with the same attitude who weren't painted as delusional (and some even made it to the top)
Looking back at this while watching AS6 just solidified this with me, never realized she was this likable

I wish people would stop flaming the queens for decisions the show makes. (also just in general)
most of us have moments of annoyance, but it isn't Ra'jah's fault scarlet went home. Drag race has social media accounts, if you *have* to throw a fit and tag someone, tell the production you hated what happened, instead of tearing down individuals just doing their best. 🙄
i LOVEEE a good reality show villain, so I appreciate queens like Ra'Jah, Kandy, Phi Phi etc that came and gave us great tv

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT. The queens do not decide who goes home an who stays (except on AS but even then the judges have a say in who's in the bottom). I really don't understand why people are STILL hating on Kandy after the Tamisha fight. She was a LOT in that untucked but she really didn't do anything awful AFTER that. There's no need to go to her account to call her names. That's tacky.
The thing with Ra'jah is that she attacks without reason, she does hinge based on her emotions and what other people have told her. For example, the whole Plastique situation that Akeria instigated. I don't blame Ra'jah for getting upset but she really should have communicated for with these queen's before making opinions. This is why I was so thankful that Plastique wasn't angry at Ra'jah

@@tnguyen7424 It’s sad they don’t just let it play out naturally as that will give good enough television for people to love it. If they make the viewers outraged every season they will lose their respect. In this season I have no idea what they’re doing anymore and it’s sad as the great queens they have selected deserve better.
@@tnguyen7424 but Kandy is nowhere NEAR Silky tho. Kandy messed up badly in that untucked against Tamisha. But after that she's just there. Not causing that much drama. But if you really wanna compare: Kandy has a bigger potential than Silky ever did (on the show) . Kandy did well in a couple of challenges and some of her runways were pretty good. She has a lot to offer other than her personality and drama.

@@5h3nn0ng I completely agree. Silky never listened to the Judges and then wondered why she was in the bottom. Kandy even if she doesn’t agree with the judges which I sure she hasn’t on multiple occasions tried her best to apply that and improve.
Also I didn’t know Silky was partying during the pandemic because if she is that’s horrible.

Every season since 11 apparently has a dark horse that gets past the riggery, season 12 was Jaida. Season 13 is Rosé (Not spoiler season 13 is just that predictable)
@@luisamador5011 Yep, Jaida somehow dive through all the sh*t show and won the season. That's some black magic. And Rosé is standing out of sheer talent, while others have a hard time being remembered but somehow have a couple wins.
When scarlet was lip syncing I thought she was the obvious winner especially when she bust out gold scissors and cut her dress for a ruveal. When they eliminated I was mad, but I was even more mad that they kept Silky after that god awful lip sync. It just proves to us as the audience that it doesn’t matter if you’re talented, if you’re loud and a shit starter you get to stay longer. That’s what they did with eureka, silky, probably sherry, and now Kandy.

@@aoifewhite349 true! Same could be said about Darienne Lake and maybe even Mimi Imfurst (although she wasn't pushed by production quite as much). The problem is, not a lot of big girls get casted on drag race period, so we don't have a ton of examples that would disprove that accusation. The only ones I can think of offhand that didn't fit that mould and are widely celebrated today are latrice, Stacy Lane Matthews, maybe Delta, Ginger Minge, and I guess Porkchop, although we didn't see much of her obviously.
I've dropped season 13 because of Kandy double shantay. Just eww

THAT'S IT, GOT IT. I realized why after reading your comment. They did it because Branjie existed already. And brooke couldn't have more dramatic storylines or else she would be on the same level as yvie in terms of reality TV entertainment
I think the reason they didn’t is because they knew scarlet could have been top 4 and they wanted silky in the top 4 and to keep vanjie around.. so I really feel they got rid of scarlet when they could so she had no chance to be in top 4.. idk tho lol.

Unpopular opinion: Shuga or Nina should have won snatch game with Silky being high. Vanjie and Silky were just themselves in a different outfit but Silky was funny as hell. Nina had two fully realized characters true to their original inspirations, and if Shuga won it would have given her a good underdog storyline and saved her from that absolutely garbage elimination
so so true about nina! both of her characters were fire , as u said. silky was herself , but because the producers expected her to be fan a fan favorite , they let her win snatch game :( its so infuriating because sometimes the better queens get overlooked! like shuga. i feel like because she’s quieter and more i guess humble, she never gets as much attention as silky. silky only gets the attention because 1-she’s larger than life and can’t be ignored and 2- the producers thought we’d all love her. idk what my point is here i guess i’m just sad for people like shuga and scarlet :(
I think if Nina had not changed characters, she may have won. The switch was a teeny clunky and had been done, versus Silky who was consistent throughout

Episode 8: I disagree, Silky should not have won because she wasn't playing a character - she was playing Silky with a different name tag. Nina should have won instead.
Agree, clearly Ru wanted her to win, she was laughing at all Silky was saying, even when was not so funny. Silky's other win was also undeserved, she kind look like Oprah but she did not "embody the mannerisms of Oprah" like the judges claimed.....it was ok, but I can name at least 3 queens who did better
Sometimes I feel like the lipsync doesn’t mean anything and the decision has already been made, the song being geared to one queen is such a giveaway of this too
It only changes something when the queen gives up completely. Like Charlie Hydes, Valentina etc
The most obvious one was def in UK season 1 when they gave Baga (in a black dress) and Cheryl (in a dance dress) an Amy Winehouse song

I still think Brooke was favoured A LOT in this season.
During the Ball challenge they read Silky and Ariel for her last looks saying that they weren't "monstrous" enough, but they didn't clocked Brooke's last look which was just a black witch dress. And don't get me started about the makeover challenge. She did great but Vanjie literally made Ariel look like her twin sister. It baffles me how Vanjie NEVER won a challenge.
She wasn't. She lipsynced twice when she didn't deserve to lipsync in either of them.
Vanjie vs Yvie would've made more sense because they all sucked but Brooke's runway was legendary and Vanjie got negative critiques for both runway and performance.
Again, she lipsynced for storyline purposes in the Top 5 when she clearly did better than Silky.
Vanjie should've won the makeover but LADP would've been a better double win than the Scarlett-Yvie double win.
She was fucked over for storylines. She was consistent throughout the show but they made her lipsync because they knew she'd give legendary lipsync stuff. Her Miss Continental performance and other performances were already famous.

And her performance was better than Silky for sure. The producers just wanted Brooke vs Yvie and they had seen how 'ready' Silky was as well.

scarlet being sent home on rajah’s 3rd time in the bottom was always confusing to me. it was still early and even if rajah did a little bit better in the lipsync thats her 3rd time vs scarlet’s 2nd, plus scarlet’s better track record. choices.

I don't know how anyone watched that lipsync and thought Scarlett won. Rajah absolutely killed it. Pulling out scissors and glitter for a stunt does not automatically hand you a lip sync win - it could have been a double shantay if they really wanted, but Rajah so blatantly won...
Apart of me hates when people say this was Scarletts storyline. I hate that we think that we need to humble queens to make them a possible winner. Everytime a queen knows how good they are beforehand (following, experience and ect) but get called "cocky" or "arrogant" because they actually celebrate that they did well?? That also leans into the idea that queens have to be loud, confident and extra (think Pearl, Violet, or the multiple other queens) they have to fit that stereotypical mold of a "drag queen" and its aggravating

The fact that one certain queen made it to the final four told me everything. One of the messiest queens ever and very unliked by many.

Top 4 should have been Vanjie, Yvie, Scarlet and Shuga. Although I do liked the Branjie storyline so Brooke Lynn could have made top 4 as well instead of Shuga.
@@anitakrijgsman5778 See I knew Nina West wouldn't make top four because it was obvious during the season that she was going to be Miss Congeniality. She was just such a sweetheart. My top four would have been Brooklyn Hytes, Miss Vanjie, Shuga Cain and Nina West. But like I said, Nina early on was already getting the other title.
I’m still pissed about Silky staying. Either they both should have gone home or Nina should have stayed. Not taking anything else into context, Silky was messy as hell in the lip sync. Nina did what she could do, so not the greatest but tighter and better put together than Silky. I’m still in the both go home camp, since neither really impressed me, but that’s when I knew they’d save Silky all the way to the finale.

Diva Worship remains one of the most glorious WTF Episodes in the entire Drag Race Canon. I will never forget Honey Davenport's swan dive off the Main Stage 🙌.

I once heard that the girls aren't allowed to jump off the stage anymore? I knew immediately when she did that (and the edit of Ru looking down her nose and being like, "Wut?") that she was going to be eliminated. But curious if she did break the rules.
@@JBrodo you are correct, the queens are not allowed to get off the stage anymore and I’m pretty sure it came into practice with the India Ferrah/Mimi Imfurst pick up alongside the drag is not a contact sport rule. Honey was just trying her best in the worst ever lipsync. She had to stand out somehow

Yvie could've had 3 wins, the acting, farm to runway and the last episode before lip sync for the crown
Not to mention she deserved a win for that last episode. But they just gave her a pass to the Finale, whilst Gigi Goode randomly got a last win for what could be described as kind of the same “Last” episode; a pass for the finale

Scarlets lipsync was fucking FIRE
THIS. I will say that Season 7 has redeeming qualities, like the John Waters episode, Katya’s existence, a decent Snatch Game, and the lip syncs were quite good! Season 11 had messy lipsync outcomes, not a lot of likeable queens, terrible challenges and a bad snatch game.

The Shuga elimination hurt the most as I'd already caught on that the producers weren't crazy about her (saved last in the 6-way lipsync and should've been high/won in Trump: The Rusical) but they then throw her out for "not shining" when 4 other queens did blatantly worse than her in the challenge. I may be alone here but the riggery in S11 honestly made me not come back for S12 and 13

Okay but season 12 is literally one of the best season we ever had in the modern Era of drag race (after season 8).
This is the thing. She clearly was never going to win and she didn't have any storylines, but it just made no sense for her to go when she did. Like it was genuinely confusing. She should have gone home against Ariel if Ariel hadn't slipped, and from that point she was on borrowed time, but she never slipped up enough to be in the bottom again. She was perfectly safe, so it was just so confusing when she was kicked out when multiple people bombed significantly harder.
All that being said, despite not making the best TV I did like how she was a genuinely lovely person who definitely served some looks and challenges in her time.
Also, 100% watch series 12 because it is amazing (excluding [redacted]), and series 13 is a good one but tbh I'm just far more interested in UK 2.

@@AnimeDreamer141 sure, IMHO it’s over all a really boring season, that suffers from pacing issues and and really baffling editing decides.
When it comes to the pacing, it takes like 4-5 episodes before it actually feels like drag race and we have an actual challenge, all the challenges that they do have don’t show off the creative side of the queens, they are for the most part scripted challenges or they just have to fill in an adjective.
As for the editing it was really strange how they decided to cut out all the fun moments between the queens (look at the bonus clip of Farah and “I have a dick in my mouth”) and what was left in the show was not really fun and we had to have a queen or two crying every episode, which was obviously forced by the producers.
And then the lip sync for the crown really was the final nail in the coffin when it really messed up the season and stories they had produced throughout the season. Personally I didn’t think Sasha deserved to win, Sasha never got any critiques, was never asked to change up her silhouette or make up, she never had an arc or a storyline or grew.
Now don’t get me wrong there some great moments in the season and it had a really strong cast over all. It could have been one of the best seasons of drag race, but it was screwed over by the editing. Now this is all just my opinion

To be honest, the only good things about S11 was Yvie and Brooke's lipsyncs, most of Yvie, Brooke, Akeria, Scarlet and Plastique's looks, and Yvie winning.

They definitely lost the fanbase with this season. So many eliminations didn’t make sense & we could see the rope being played in the background.
Watching this video, oh definitely. I feel like s8 and s12 are the exception to the rules where most of the cast was super entertaining and loveable. Remove those series and you can definitely see the show getting messier with what it’s doing

I was in shock when she didn't choose Akeria. They were friends, and that way they would have ensured a spot on the Top 2, and with a LOT of luck, maybe win.

I disagree about a Yvie being undeserving. She won the episode before the finale (unofficially) and Brooke lip synced twice and no one has won a regular season lipsync for more than once. Yvie also won her last two lipsyncs.

I agree except for the fact that Brooke shouldn't have lip synched a second time. They put her against Vanjie for drama purposes. I still think Brooke has a way better track record than any other queen but Yvie won the final lip synch anyway.

Silky's performance at the finale shows that she had no business being there
She’d been beaten down so much by the fans that she felt defeated.
This season was a hot fucking mess and I think you explained why perfectly. My biggest frustrations are that because of the mishandling of judging and storylines, Yvie's very deserved win didn't feel as satisfying as it should have (and I firmly think that fans put WAY too much on track record), and that A'Keria was treated as just kind of there the whole time despite consistently performing very well. If they'd given her the attention she deserved throughout the season, she could've been a much stronger contender for the crown, but instead, everyone had her pegged to lose the first lip sync for the crown before the finale even aired. It's just really unfortunate across the board how the queens were treated.
Track records should matter like it did in S1 through S8. I really hated that Sasha won when Shea had the best track record & Yvie won when Brooke had the best track record. Like what’s the point of doing good? When a queen can be mediocre through the first half of the competition and kick it up in the second half and you been doing good in both halves and still lose

While Ra’jah is sickening and did well, Scarlet won that lipsync. It was extreeeeeemely disappointing that Silky was in the finale where Vanjie or Nina deserved to be. The Silky-Nina lipsync was MEH, but Silky lost that lipsync. Nina deserved a win more, but it could have also been a double sashay.
i completely agree and even with silky “winning” the lip sync and going to the queens everywhere episode silky should have been in the bottom two for that episode as she got critiques that she had had multiple times before it always baffled my. i’m not a huge fan of brookelynn but her critiques in that episode were bs and it should’ve been vanjie and silky in the bottom two

She was a really good competitor, and honestly deserved better for her looks and challenges. I can understand saying that she should have placed lower for some challenges but she gave really strong performances and was generally recognized as a frontrunner

When vanjie came down the runway in that farm runway look and was safe for it. I think this was a real "Window Glass breaking" moment for me with the show

Her and Tina's "we're the winners we're better than you you don't deserve to be here" attitude that was just shoved in our faces from the jump made me dislike her. I hate it when people say she didn’t deserve her win based on track record or they say she only won because she was odd. Her track record was stolen from her. And yeah Brooklyn is amazing in lip syncs among other things but so is Yvie. She tied her once and beat her fair and square in the end and her true track record made her worthy of the final battle. I do think if Yvie would have gone home earlier then Brooklyn should have taken it. But people need to stop coming for Yvie like she wasn’t the best. She earned that crown just as well as many queens before her regardless of track record. If anything that should make her win even more valid because she won the whole thing with a robbed track record.

I think if they had critiqued her more she could have grown as an artist at the competition because she certainly showed a willingness to learn. The show could have been a learning experience but it ended up not giving her much of an experience at all in my opinion

I would put Olivia up there as a Bishop. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely live for her. She's my favorite queen this season.
Gottmiks runway saved her from the bottom but should have still placed low 10000% Kandy honestly should have been safe and honestly Utica and Tamisha would lipsync. Or if you want Gottmik and Utica lipsync, but Utica ultimately would have gone home. She can’t dance, and I think Ru personally hates her quirkiness because it’s comes off fake similar to Laganga. Plus they hated Uticas performance and runway. But Utica is the one who was saved unfairly. She did the absolute worst in the challenge and had a bad runway. I love Utica a lot, but she’s been saved a bunch so far. Should have won the bag ball tho.

amen to that. she looked awkward, shoulders up/tense the whole time, didnt know the steps. they are constantly putting them on a pedestal just to be like: hey! drag race is trans friendly. its annoying how challenges and runways constantly fluctuates in importance just to fit their narrative. i believe the challenges should have much more weight than the runway as they are more indicative of how the queens perform rather than who has the most money and contacts to get designers dresses made.
I just wanna say this: YVIE ist one of the most deserving queens to win the title. She not only has a special take on drag in general but also is one of the most misunderstood queens to ever walk into the Werk Room. She's overlooked because of her "crafty" runways, because of her fighting with production favs silky and Vanjie, because of being too real for reality tv and because of not being a household name prior to season 11. I still think that editing gave her a bad reputation or rather made her appear to be bad. So I was pleasantly surprised that she was the first Lipsync assassin on AS5 and production kinda gave her the redemption she needed for her storyline. And lets be honest, the Brooke Lynn and Yvie Lipsync is the best Lipsync to ever appear on drag race. I absolutely don't get the hatred Yvie had to face during and after season 11, cause she's probably one of the best look queens to ever walk into the Werk Room.

I'm still mad over Scarlet's, Nina's and Shuga's eliminations to this day.
Ivie's track record is an example of one of the main reasons I never cared for Lip Sync for the Crown. It it throws out the contestants' report cards and leaves it more or less to chance (at least on screen). And we see them lip sync all season, so unless it's a rare occasion when a queen hasn't been in the bottom 2 before the finally, it's generally not something we haven't seen before. (With some exceptions, of course - but again, it's a gamble.)
I wish I could see the look on producers face when Silky chose Brooke Lynn over Yvie and they realized the climax they've been building up for all season wasn't gonna happen, especially after both Season 9 when Trinity and Peppermint made a pact and inadvertently got Shea sent home, and Season 10 when Aquaria fucked up her lip sync against Eureka and they had to bring them both to the grand finale. I'm honestly surprised we still have a lip sync for the crown after all those fuck ups.

Scarlet should've won the ball challenge......all categories were executed excellently AND her final look FIT THE CATEGORY. Vanjie should've won episode 3 instead of Nina.....Nina did a southern impression and that's pretty much it, Vanjie was easily the best one of that group. Yvie should've won the Rusical solely for her look, idc, and she shouldve won episode 7 instead of Plastique. ALSO, yvie shouldve won the final 5 episode. They let Gigi win that episode. So the fact they had no queen win the last episode makes zero sense to me when yvie KILLED it. I feel they were just unsure about who to crown until social media convinced them that Yvie would be the better received and just deserved it more than Brooke. Yvie has one of the weakest winner records because the producers were too busy trying to make other queens look good that didnt deserve the attention (Silky, Plastique, Vanjie most of the time).
i feel like season 13 is heading this route as well, really great queens but god most of the episodes r so scripted n rigged in certain queens favor.
@Lewis Hopping i don’t think mik has been pushed. she had 2 better looks than utica in the ball and sold them better, the little black dress saved her from a low spot in the discomentary, she should’ve been high in boss rossy after dark because she made olivia funny and she did really well in the rusical so i don’t think she’s been pushed just yet, but it’s clear mik is making top 3. i think her placements have been deserved so far.
Let the queens sink or swim on their own without producer meddling. Sure, it's a reality show, but at least make the producers' hand less obvious. This would make for a far more enjoyable show.

There will always be some debate regarding wins, but there shouldn't be such blatant favoritism and random and incongruent judging used to push some queens to the finale and axe others too soon. It takes away from truly letting the queens shine on their own. Seasons 11-13 have been particularly egregious in this regard. Certainly makes me less invested in the show (but I'll continue to watch 'cause it's Drag Race).

@@Noah-rq3xt let me breakdown everything. The main challenge of the ball is the design challenge so it make sense for utica to win and her first two outfits were not that bad. Runways usually dont effect anything. Look at denali and kahmora they came in gorgeous outfits and still lip synced. Plus gottmik didnt even dance well in discomentary and her dancing outfit was a little saggy? But imo she did better than olivia in the bossy rossy after dark.
This season just felt unpleasant in many parts, which isn't great tv. Season 13 is feeling similar.
I am now finiding myself wondering if season 12's original edit was also like this before they had to hastily re-edit to remove redacted's confessionals and story presence. It seems weird otherwise that two of the last three seasons, non-consecutively, would be edited this way.
I agree that shoving Silky down out throats was just painful, and Nina deserved so much better. Scarlett being sent home on such a joyous lipsync was unacceptable.
However, Yvie did deserve the win through and through. Wins help you get to the finale and from there it's a blank slate, and Yvie CRUSHED her two lip syncs of the finale.

It feels like they just desperately want a plus-sized queen to win for the sake of the show being seen as more 'accepting', or at least getting them far enough for that.
