REACTING To "Meet The Port City All-Star Band 2024"

1. They are kids , so let’s not break their ego.
2. The director and I went to undergrad together. Good guy, need some things to work in terms of directing an ensemble.Now the ugly….

5. 1st song….tempo not in tact. Trombone hella flat (fundamentals). I agree the percussion too damn loud. Why???
6. Just you play soft, it does not mean you play weak. They air will always be fast

8. Director, you dont have to clap the entire song.
9. Trumpets aren’t slaw, they just may not be there mechanically and fundamentally.
10. Disagree you don’t build endurance by “pushing” folk can’t throw buzz words with no context.
11. Umm this is a rehearsal so I’m not expecting to hear X band.
12. “Open up” can mean a lot of things….these kids need private lessons so they can have command over their instrument.
13. That trumpet that squeaked a high note….again poor fundamentals….
14. Seems like the sections they are fighting against each other.

I agree. They’ve got a lot to work on. They just need to fix the minor issues.
