      Yeah, having been a catcher, I'd say it probably hit next to the cup, the very upper, inside of the thigh. Even with a cup on, that would drive the cup into the skin enough to put a MAJOR Shockwave through Mr. Pecker AND the Kids, , and a break would have had to been taken...for sure.

      Definitely working on a power change should be the goal at this stage. A true curve would be easy on the arm, but very few players can locate and get that past MLB hitters in 2022. He'll start working in a slider eventually if/when he hits MLB, and it will be a truly nasty thing, but it'll put a lot of strain on his elbow and there's no way I'd be letting him throw it when he's still throwing the hardest fastball on the planet playing against college kids. But yeah, right now he should be in the lab on that 91mph changeup with the nasty arm-side run. I wouldn't advise teaching him the split because 1) it's anecdotally hard on the elbow and 2) It's almost never in the zone, and this kid should be trying to steal more strikes instead of trying to somehow increase his swing-and-miss.

    • @jeffdarnell7942
      @jeffdarnell7942 2 роки тому

      He better be REALLY good at his delivery!! Most power pitchers that add a change up have a movement specific change when they let go of the change-up, and it's easy to read, especially the better hitters in College, and especially the Majors.

    @1:11 -that's really strange.. bizarre... the way people who come from Knoxville, feel they need to advertise when a player's out of Knoxville... "K - IT JUST MEANS MORE." ... the School's jersey says "TENNESSEE" for.. A REASON... I've noticed when students enroll to The University of Tennessee.. from Chattanooga, Nashville, and Memphis.. the University's always... GLAD TO TAKE THEIR MONEY !!! it's the ENTIRE STATE of Tennessee's University !!! the University should BE UNITED... I once heard a wise man say, "A SUPERIOR ATTITUDE.. is REALLY, just AN INFERIORITY COMPLEX... disguised, as superiority" - it's looks... DESPERATE. - and, if YOU CALL OTHER PEOPLE OUT (💥IN A FLASH !!!💥) for actin' arrogant... DO YOU ACT ARROGANT ?? IT'S A FAIR QUESTION. - it's a bad 😑 look, for people who come from Knoxville.
