Aye for those that don't know, when your doing the meter dunks. If you press the L2 or LT when it's in the green window, you never have to let go of the right stick. Found this out and my dunk timing just skyrocket

@@sam56094 he’s saying when you’re holding the right stick for a dunk and you get the meter you don’t have to let go of the right stick on the green and instead just press the LT / L2 when you wanna release on the meter to dunk

I can’t time those meter dunks AT ALL in the rec/park because of that latency. In mycareer and private court (without latency) I never miss them
Online you can't time it by looking at the meter, as soon as you see your meter come up let GO! And you will green 70% of the time
you get used to it just like shots,, i hated it too but if it gets you contact dunks then why not get the hang of it

My first build only has an 84 driving dunk but I catch hella bodies just because of attacking the right angles with that skill dunk, 2k23 is super fun if you like dunking a lot
I would make a video on how you time the dunks. When do you release it. Sounds simply but it would help a lot of people.

I got Slithery,Posterizer,Aerial & Takeoff On HOF....Playmaking A+, Defense/Reb A+...Sacrificed Shooting except Free Throws....Monstrous
Also left right on the stick is a hop or euro step depending on ball hand and those are great dunks to throw off the timing of the defense this year. It's fun too.

I think stamina is an important factor too. If your stamina is under 50% (prolly because of dribbling too damn much) then you won’t really take off 100% of the time

The dunk meter actually helps a lot with that I find. In myteam at least I can force dunks with really low stamina and as long as I time them right they still go in
Yea I made a build w 60 stamina like a dumb ass , had to remake his ahh w 99 stamina 💀

My day zero build is a 6’6 interior finisher with 93 dunk 76 3pt (so Giant Slayer can be viable). This actually made me much more consistent due to the meta being 6’9.
With that, all I use meter dunks but if I miss a few I do stick lays and jumpers. Meter dunks make it feel more realistic for me and adds skill to pull off.
Dunks from when the defender is riding the hip is my favorite time to go for a dunk. It lets you start your gather into the animation as far as the free throw line long as you got the angle towards the basket.
Giant slayer will only proc on 6'11 and taller builds for u

I just can’t time that up down one right idk if I’m holding the up too long so it doesn’t trigger the dunk meter or I just need to take the basic two handers off my guy cause that’s what gets activated a lot when I use the stick to dunk

I remember when I first started using the pro stick and I had went up for the contact and got it greened and I was hyped and everybody on my team flopped cause I have a 2 way inside out creator and he JA Morant like.
Is you keep on step backing on dunks it’s because your left stick is to the side or the way you were running it has to be straight I literally just figured it out

Vertical definitely matters this year if u have a 99 driving dunk and a low vertical most likely you want get the full potential of your dunks

I got that 6'9 athletic Finisher but he's at the 3 position. I messed up when I made him though. Only gave him a 92 driving dunk so I only get silver poster.

the latency is real so I dont wanna do it. same with shooting. I used to be getting contact dunks without meter with down up. also strong hand doesn't work for me. no contact dunks. also my player's starting to lay the ball up more ever since I upgraded my layup to max 80. probably should've upgraded layup first then maxed out my dunk 93
Is a 86 driving dunk with silver poster and takeoff good enough I only get pros contact dunks but I never get them my meter never even pops up
damn, maybe after im done with my second build im gonna make like a 6'10 or 6'9 PF pure slasher straight savage with like 90 str and all the dunk packages and like gold or HoF first step.

My build is SF 6'9 has 96 driving dunk the right dunk packages settings and I can never get the dunk meter to work so can you make a video explaining and maybe showcasing the right time to pull up with right stick then when to pull down right stick for the dunk meter to pop up each time? Also, does close shot affect the dunk? I should be dunking on most and my player seems to layup more than anything, my finishing badges are limitless takeoff gold, posterizer gold, slithery gold

I was a glass lock 21 n 22 and this year I decided to be a slasher and now the defensive big men are probaly the most valuable builds now

It breaks my heart how majority of these guards don't appreciate the bigs AT ALL.
The way some of these guards will completely disregard the big being wide open just to force a bad shot, then turn around and pass to the big when surrounded by 2-3 defenders in the paint because the guard decides to rim run and then realize they have nowhere to go so they decide to feed the big after bringing all the defense to the paint.
I use to think it was just a few guards but then I started seeing it more and more and that's when I finally realized that this is just the mentality of the average guard.
It's almost like they have no respect for the big, like they just look at you like "you're only here to get my rebound if I miss" which is sad....

Is there an advantage or boost to using the dunk meter over the other options? It seems like everybody uses the meter even though the other dunks are easier to pull off.
The meter way gets way more contacts and if you master it almost all your dunks will go in

I have a paint beast and haven't even seen a dunk meter yet. I see the meter on alley's but not on regular dunks
You have to manually initiate it. Certain right stick combos bring up the dunk meter (for example, flick up quickly then hold down until it’s in the green to initiate one type of contact dunk with the meter)
Okay so even in practice I do up down shit and I still do layups like the meter doesn’t even pop up

You know what badge they should add back, QuickDraw. But, change it so instead of release speed, it increases the speed of which you can start your shot after a catch. Or add that to catch and shoot so catch and shoot matters and I can get my shot off since I’m a spot up shooter/slasher
