Sustainability is not exactly just servicibility. Even with life extensions, the end-product (aka e-waste) that is created is toxic and harmful to the environment (like plastics). There is no way around that currently, except implementing massive (read expensive) recycling and disposal programs, and even then they are not guaranteed to protect the environment over the long run.
Agreed. Sustainability to me is fundamentally about solving today's problems in a way that doesn't inhibit future generations from solving their own. This requires a very comprehensive approach in a number of areas (not just in technology). Aceleron work in serviceability (extracting more value from materials) is one area in the many opportunities for improvement that's why Im looking forward to colaborating with others on the sustainability cause.
