I'm sure people have already explained it, but here goes... his mother was a drug addict when he was growing up and she wasn't in his life very much. That demon followed him into adult hood and he found himself doing a lot of things he isn't proud of and hanging around a lot of people who were toxic. Did his time in jail, started the new band, had his daughter, and now the band and his daughter keep him grounded and his past has taught him what to avoid and what to focus on. So, at 37, hes finally got his stuff together enough to explain what hes been through in a creative way with a clear head. Hope you enjoyed this summation of these videos haha

I think basically what Ronnie is saying is that in one form or another, everyone is reliant on something. Be it drugs, alcohol, social media, coffee, relationships and so on. Everybody has their “Drug”. I guess I should also mention that when he was in Escape the Fate, he was struggling with drug addiction. The short of it is that he ended up in prison for 2 1/2 years, was released from ETF, wrote many songs (while in prison). Got clean (not sure if he was in prison still or if it was after he got out). You should dig a little deeper as he has had a very interesting life so far. Also, check out older FIR. It may surprise you
So I have heard all of these songs before and watched reviews of them all....BUT this was the first time I have gone through the trilogy journey with someone and that was REALLY F'ing cool. Just discovered you/your channel and I'm liking it so I'm going to deep dive into your content and see what your channel is all about.
So I think of the three songs as stages of his life/addiction. The tone of the lyrics and the progression of the music changes through all of them. The black stuff from the first one represented heroin and the ascent was the high. The song was about his active addiction, the lyrical tone was defiant, and the music was less heavy and more upbeat. In Losing My Life the image in the beginning was him confronting his reflection and it kind of splits off into good/sober Ronnie and bad/addicted Ronnie, as far as I can tell. The lyrics are confrontational and aggressive. Then you have the break down where he’s fighting himself. When he wakes up and his daughter is older, I think that is representing the possibility that he could’ve lost all that time with her from being in jail and drugs and things like that. He had a dream that he was going to die in 2033. Then he talks about killing himself sometimes, which is a pretty straightforward metaphor for reinventing himself, getting sober, getting out of jail, changing a style of music, etc. Then at the end of Losing My Life he buries his old self, but then he comes back and they go into a fight with each other, and that sequence is the opening of Drugs. They both get knocked out. The breakdown is much heavier in Drugs than the other two. He murders himself with a chainsaw, he confronts his mom and takes control of the things that happened in his past. You can see the progression of music and the progression of his state of mind. Also “the American dream is a killing machine” is a super dope lyric and he’s referencing the general idea of that but also talking about his mom and her addiction and not being there. Then it ends with him waking up and seeing Willow, his daughter, her eyes flash like the other versions of himself, in what I assume is to represent the chance that he is passing down the things that he’s been through to her and his concern about that. All of that is what I get from the videos, watching his twitch stream, and reading other things 😊

Not just the video itself but the story behind them and stuff. Anyway, I just thought the video of “Girl in a Country Song” by Maddie and Tae is funny and love seeing you smile. Thought you might like a funny video and to a pretty good country song.
A lot of people think everyone is on drugs is like hyperbole or something but literally everyone I know is on drugs or dead or god bless them somehow managed to get off. It’s insane
The thing is, with this song is that it’s not just about Drugs. He means everybody is on Drugs by we all have unhealthy addictions. Like, being on your phone too much, or addicted to things that aren’t good for you. That’s why he says that everybody is on drugs. And that the American dream is a killing machine. (I saw him explain this on a twitch stream of his)
Thank you so much for the heart and the like, Yaz. It's refreshing to know that some youtubers have their notifications turned on so when someone comments on their video, they are notified. :)
Hate to say it but her reaction video doesn't have s even close to as many views it take for him to see nor as enough UA-cam subscribers to have a him see it to react just being realistic that's all
yeah so the drugs reference is a metaphor, drugs can be social media, men/spouse, money not just what you smoke, inhale etc. The american dream yeah that is a crazy one, in the states so many people chase that just to make it, and the important things like family, friends are passed by and forgotten in the hopes of chasing the american dream :)
I think u would really like "Icon For Hire" her song's Hallow, Supposed To Be and Happy Hurts R my top favorite song's but I enjoy most of her music honestly
You know, I think you will like Hollowpoint " Dont Fall Asleep" there a little bit on the matel side, but its a really good song, and falling in reverse is a awesome band, it's cool that you like them
Drugs is metaphorical. He just doesnt mean actual Drugs to get high and stuff, he means the whole chase for perfection and also social media stereotypes. People literally killing themselves just to chase that "dream" all these influencers force upon us. Also he went to jail because something bad happened to someone else while he was just there, beeing with his best friends. He had a knife on him and the police just went full force on him. He told the big story in one of his streams so check that out, its crazy. Also his life during that time was also fucked up...jeez that dude been through some shit. Also Corey Taylor
"Everybody's on Drugs" is a crazily deep line because it's literally true. EVERY SINGLE HUMAN that has ever lived has taken or been given a drug in 1 form or another. Be that psychedelics, pharmaceuticals, techological, herbal or spiritual. Even your morning cup of tea😅
The next one you should check out is In Flames - Take This Life i think you'd love em... Btw just stumbled across you here on the tube. and ive been binge watching :p
So ronnie was deep into drugs and alcohol at one point and time in his life.. the phrase ( the American dream is a killing machine) is referred to people trying to obtain a certain level of success that most people can not get to and that in its self is like a drug!!! The word drugs does not always mean chemical it could be anything one person is obsessed with and can not live with out... this song is so deep on so many levels!! And yes he did not have a good relationship with his mom....
Now you need to to The Drug in Me is You and The Drug in Me is Reimagined back to back

your eyes ... I can die for them
Waits for Ronnie to react to your reactions and he will clarify things if he does
That would be soo cool and YESS 😁
Hate to say it but her reaction video doesn't have s even close to as many views it take for him to see nor as enough UA-cam subscribers to have a him see it to react just being realistic that's all
yeah so the drugs reference is a metaphor, drugs can be social media, men/spouse, money not just what you smoke, inhale etc. The american dream yeah that is a crazy one, in the states so many people chase that just to make it, and the important things like family, friends are passed by and forgotten in the hopes of chasing the american dream :)
Are you planning on doing more NIghtwish?
Amazing song. Nice "I know who that is!"
I want to dance to it, but my mother's kitchen is not the place.
You should check out champion its one of my personal favorites. Pretty heavy. Great reaction.
The next one you should check out is In Flames - Take This Life i think you'd love em...
Btw just stumbled across you here on the tube. and ive been binge watching :p
Yaz....
Where are you?
So ronnie was deep into drugs and alcohol at one point and time in his life.. the phrase ( the American dream is a killing machine) is referred to people trying to obtain a certain level of success that most people can not get to and that in its self is like a drug!!! The word drugs does not always mean chemical it could be anything one person is obsessed with and can not live with out... this song is so deep on so many levels!! And yes he did not have a good relationship with his mom....
A new song by Brand of Sacrifice called Altered Eyes
Damnit missed the notification for this one so I’m last 😂
Nice try william :D
Love your videos. Now I need some Motionless in White reactions. 😎
