Hi from Annie those amerellos look too nice to be pulled out. I have lots of junipers planted about 25yrs ago keep them shaped they have this orangey color pollen blossom like a powder all over the plant it comes up end of winter and if you got senstive nose and allergies it is not so great, I hose them with water often. Like the mama papa and baby bear theme.
I worked in my gardens all day! It was spectacular. Nobody would notice all the things I accomplished, but it was so satisfying-clearing, cleaning, refreshing and sprucing. Gardeners get it. ☺️
Congratulations on being in the 100th Anniversary Edition of Better Homes & Gardens. This will be a most saved and valued edition. I went to their website and they are really celebrating today - annual subscriptions are $1.00.
I loved this video. Linda you were having so much fun sharing your plans. Your enthusiasm is contagious. August gardens are my favorite. I appreciate so much the work the gardener has done all year to get to the high point of the season. Your garden is gorgeous
I am pushing Autumn by starting my Autumn decor. The weather in my neighborhood low Arizona desert Zone 9B is still pretty warm. But we're having a lot of rain which has made a nice change for us here. I would drought has been extensive for years now so we are enjoying the rain. I am lucky my area doesn't flood.
Hi Linda - I start off every Spring with maybe 6 yards of burlap. It's a staple in my Spring planting. Like you, I use clothespins to hold the burlap in place as I fill my containers. Using burlap as a liner I can plant up old crates, wire baskets, and a list of unusual containers. I also fill the bottom of large planters/tubs with plastic nursery pots and then place burlap over the pots. It saves me a lot on potting soil. I wanted to suggest to you that folding over all the excess burlap back into the container makes for a thicker liner. I fold over the extra and still hold in place with the clothespins. As you fill the container with soil you can move/shift the burlap and adjust your clothespin. Gives the liner extra strength. Like you said it's all hidden eventually with the flowers but I love the look of a finished edge with the burlap. I think my regular pots look bare in comparison. Thanks for the wonderful videos. I look forward to them.
I love your Idea with burlap in the wire baskets and on the stands I am going to try that out I have black iron stands also and a lot of wire baskets .Thanks so much💚🌸
Don't forget to listen to the sounds of fall! I found myself just closing my eyes and listening to the sounds of your Beautiful garden. Thank you for sharing your garden!
I love the idea of the trio of stands with the hanging baskets. I probably would spray the stands to match. It’s quick and easy. I can also picture it with some pumpkins around the base of them. I clipped more coleus last night to root up. They root so quickly. Will you bring the big pot of amaryllis into the house or store it elsewhere. Maybe you could go into more detail, I have a pot of them outside right now and want to have good results!
After watching your video for ‘cuttings’ I went right outside and cut several of my coleus, putting them in water. It won’t take long to grow roots. Those coleus I planted directly into the ground after cutting have apparently developed roots as they are perky and upright. Love your hat. 😊❤️
I love your enthusiasm for fall projects in the garden. I have so many things I want to do when the weather cools down. In central California we still have weeks of triple digit weather ahead. I'm so glad for August to be done soon!
We worked in our yard yesterday while it misted and very lightly rained. I agree with you that it’s the best time, especially when weeding. I took some of my orchids and larger indoor plants out on the patio for a refresher. I hope you got more rain than we did in Fort Smith, but I’m thankful for any we get and the cooler temperatures. Who thought relief would be in the 90’s? 😂 Have a great week!
I want to take a moment and thank Stewart for slowing that woman down sometimes, ha! I love you Linda, you're my favorite garden channel on YT but I was happy when Stewart showed a more closeup of the Dragon Wing begonia because I just purchased my first couple of plants of that variety and they are babies right now and I know you planted yours as tubers, so it's nice to see how big they've gotten since you planted them!
I could spend every morning with my cup of coffee in your garden. It does scare me after watching your recent members only chat that all the things that keep me here, are things you are feeling the urge for change. I love curved lines, asymmetry, and the kind of dark academia type home vibe. I will of course follow your journey ,with hopes I still feel the kindred spirit vibe I get from this house and garden . Also the two garden hints that I love , are your pappa bear, mamma bear, and baby bear. And I learned long ago the thriller, filler, spilller mantra, that is perfect everytime.
No matter how hard I try to gather all my supplies together there IS ALWAYS something I forgot and had to go find. Lol While I like finishes to be the same, it isn't a huge problem for me. More important things with life to deal with.
I would tend to spray paint the finishes to match - and lean into the designs of each stand to add a different but complimentary look. ps: I do not do matchy-matchy in my indoor decor though. I like an eclectic look there.
The coleus colors are beautiful. I would go with the way the plant stands are this year and if I didn’t like it then next year I would paint them and start fresh.
I love the plant stand idea! Yes paint them! I have started painting all my metal black, unless its natural state is copper, brass, ect. Im going for an updated organic feel, but in a French/ European style. I use alot of your ideas.
I Linda❤️, I love the endless patinas in your garden. As I’m watching this, regarding the color of the plant stands, maybe you could brush them with the silver/ grey color of your doors and windows- it would work with the color of your dining chairs, outdoor furniture and pick up the colors of your flagstones. ❤️Kry
Well, another GREAT watch!! And how wonderful, RAIN! Today my hubby and I worked out in the garage, trying to organize and finish, FINALLY, unpacking all the boxes from our move a couple of months ago. After watching your video yesterday on Fall container planting, I started trying to remember what I had done with the wire-hanging baskets I had moved to the new house . I was thrilled when, after I moved out of the way a few boxes, there they were! I am so excited to try your idea, that tomorrow I am going to give it a go! This is one of the many reasons I just LOVE watching your channel! It is so relaxing and always so full of great ideas! Thanks so much for all your time and talent! Much love and blessings to you and Stewart!
Love you Linda; you are my favorite as well...I would spray paint the three stands and pots black or darkest brown / bronze to match for Fall and take it from there.
You are just the cutest thing. I love watching your design ideas in the garden! I have bought tons of plant stands off fb marketplace this summer and can’t wait to have more height in my garden next spring! Thank you for all you do!
The garden is still looking beautiful! And as it was raining by you we finally had rain here as well! Hurray!! We are planing zone 6b and in such a drought!
We have been getting some rain each day or so through Aug. and although it's so muggy, the plants are loving it!!! Every plant has suffered through the AZ low desert zone 9b summer. Everything is growing now!
I definitely agree that Mama, Papa, and Baby Bear should match in color. I find black to be very elegant. Would love to see your "plant hospital," and also see how you propagate your coleus. Do you grow any veggies in the fall? I am beginning to see signs of fall in Northern California!
That hat you are wearing is so magnificent! It takes away and gives. Allow me to explain. It takes away,in that it casts your gorgeous eyes in shadow. But it gives,by way of contrasting shadow,a most remarkable highlight on your smile, which shines like the Sun,upon all of us! ❤️
I don't mind the different finishes. Since the 3 plantings will be coordinated that will tie everything together and the slightly different styles and finishes of the stands will add interest.
Good morning from rainy Vienna, good to see to had some rain. I really like your idea , looking forward to the end result. Your arrangement as is just beautiful .😍
I love your videos and am also rooting things like crazy. Linda - how do you stay so trim and slim? Can you do a 'what I eat in a day' video aside - or do you work often with a trainer. I'm struggling and you always look so nice.
Ok so everything is great in the garden etc….I gotta know where you got those pants?!😊so adorable. Just my style and would fit under my 50+ year old tiny tummy pudge😎
I wouldn’t mind the different finishes of the plant stands so much if all the baskets were planted identically. Otherwise, I would use spray paint which is kind of fun anyway. I find gray, drizzling or light rain days in the summer very peaceful and relaxing. A nice break from the heat!
I know I've commented before that I always enjoy your videos, but I also want to thank you for being an inspiration and a good influence for me. I've finally finished in the front yard handling every single planter, ridding them of walnuts buried by squirrels, dividing things, etc. and now I'm encouraged to continue around the sides of the house and on into the backyard. On video, the plant stands don't look all that different, but a coat of paint on them (like the Rustoleum 2X) might be good for them.
Hello Linda THANKS for all yours videos learn so much of it love watching you and learn about all your tecnic and thank you Stuart for filming love you both dearly have a nice week Johanne from Blainville Canada💙💕😘🥰😍🤩🌸💮🌺🥀🍀🌳🪴
Can't say it would bother me if they didn't match. But, I usually have spray paint in the garage, so I'd probably go ahead and do them in black. There are times where I would deliberately paint them different colors just for fun.
I love everyone’s mixed thoughts on the plant stand finishes. Thanks for sharing!
How can I get a Tara Hydrangea by Southern Living? I can never find them in stock anywhere.

Yup. I get it😆
I totally get it. We always sleep well with a clean garden. It brings peace to our hearts. Then waking ip the next day and going outside is the best!
Are you as ready for fall as I am?
Actually, for the first time in my life, I'm done with summer, ----- ready for fall!!! And I'm 72! I love summer, but not this one! UGH!
Not quite yet. But starting to think about it.
Yes! We have had a good deal of glorious rain and my plants love it! 😊❤️
Congratulations on being in the 100th Anniversary Edition of Better Homes & Gardens. This will be a most saved and valued edition. I went to their website and they are really celebrating today - annual subscriptions are $1.00.
Thank you for the heads up!
Linda, I think you mean "glimpse" as in a quick view, rather than "glimmer" which is a spark of light. Thank Goodness for the rain!!!!
I loved this video. Linda you were having so much fun sharing your plans. Your enthusiasm is contagious. August gardens are my favorite. I appreciate so much the work the gardener has done all year to get to the high point of the season. Your garden is gorgeous
Thank you dear!
I am ready for fall weather, food, and plants.
Congratulations Linda!! So proud of you!! I love your garden and inspiration!!👍🌹
Linda, I hope you show us how you install your brick border. Would love to see that. Thank you
Will do!
Please do share how you do this, like the actual work please
I like that you have a plant hospital!
The finishes don't have to match, I once had a decorator tell me not to be too "matchy matchy". I still rememeber that advice. LOL
Oh yes it would drive crazy

Great tip!
YES! Paint papa, mama, baby; 🐻❣️
I love your Idea with burlap in the wire baskets and on the stands I am going to try that out I have black iron stands also and a lot of wire baskets .Thanks so much💚🌸
Come on FALL 🍁🍂
The different finishes of plant stands are lovely. Adds character in my opinion.
Don't forget to listen to the sounds of fall! I found myself just closing my eyes and listening to the sounds of your Beautiful garden. Thank you for sharing your garden!
You are sooo right. Just thought of that this morning!
Lovely! Yes I would paint them all black.
Hi Linda. I believe that you should go with a colour scheme. How about a bronze or red tone to set the mood for Autumn? Keep planting everyone.
Wow, great advice for Autumn!
I love mixed metals, but I also love different styles, painted the same color.
Oh, I would have to paint them too.
Start shakin' that can! Yes, to the matched finish! 🌿
Lol!!
After watching your video for ‘cuttings’ I went right outside and cut several of my coleus, putting them in water. It won’t take long to grow roots. Those coleus I planted directly into the ground after cutting have apparently developed roots as they are perky and upright. Love your hat. 😊❤️
So did I! 😁
I always have spray paint, so yes I would paint if I had time to do so.
Oh no! My hibiscus topiaries fell over, too, in wind and rain. I put them in a different place, against a wall.
Very ready for fall and COOLER TEMPERATURES in Houston! Yes, I admit the different colors would bug me and I’d break out the spray paint, too.
I love your enthusiasm for fall projects in the garden. I have so many things I want to do when the weather cools down. In central California we still have weeks of triple digit weather ahead. I'm so glad for August to be done soon!

Who thought relief would be in the 90’s? 😂 Have a great week!
Thank you Linda for another great video! You're such an inspiration!🪴 💖
Definitely paint all the same color! It would bother me to no end!
Great video, I'm looking forward to seeing Mum, Dad & baby baskets finished, also everything else.

Never fear! Many beloved elements will remain🙂
Mama, papa, and baby would look good all in a rusted finish as well as black. If you spray the metal with vinegar they will rust themselves over time.
Great idea!
I like the different finishes, Linda
No matter how hard I try to gather all my supplies together there IS ALWAYS something I forgot and had to go find. Lol While I like finishes to be the same, it isn't a huge problem for me. More important things with life to deal with.
Good morning Linda I like your garden . Thank you for your excellent experience
Yes, stuff like that drives my crazy. I’d paint all the same.
I would tend to spray paint the finishes to match - and lean into the designs of each stand to add a different but complimentary look. ps: I do not do matchy-matchy in my indoor decor though. I like an eclectic look there.
I like the different finishes. They add interest to the mix. Also like the burlap, nice touch.
The coleus colors are beautiful. I would go with the way the plant stands are this year and if I didn’t like it then next year I would paint them and start fresh.
No no. It's fine. The Main is all the same. Wire holder with baskets. --- you're so Clever chicky. 😉
Different finishes don’t bother me…as long as they are a similar grouping. Once again, loving the clean, fresh look of the garden!
Yes, it absolutely bothers me and I did say that on first impulse. Spray black!
I love the plant stand idea! Yes paint them! I have started painting all my metal black, unless its natural state is copper, brass, ect. Im going for an updated organic feel, but in a French/ European style. I use alot of your ideas.
I Linda❤️,
I love the endless patinas in your garden. Its all about personal choice! Spray Baby Bear if you need too!
yes the different finishes would bother me too 😊
Yup🙂

Thank you Sweet Pea!
I would absoloutly paint them! ❤
Such an inspiration, linda you always motivate us to go out and create beautiful things in the garden 👍🙏🌷❤️
Love you Linda; you are my favorite as well...I would spray paint the three stands and pots black or darkest brown / bronze to match for
Fall and take it from there.
Go for the paint Linda.😃
I was born10 degrees north of the equator. Thus I prefer the heat over cold.
You are just the cutest thing. I love watching your design ideas in the garden! I have bought tons of plant stands off fb marketplace this summer and can’t wait to have more height in my garden next spring! Thank you for all you do!
Thank YOU
The garden is still looking beautiful! And as it was raining by you we finally had rain here as well! Hurray!! We are planing zone 6b and in such a drought!
Excellent!
I think the squirrels rebelled against you having tidied up the place.
That’s beautiful Linda. Yes I would spray them all the same color. Black probably
👍
Being from California, yes! Wish we could get some of your rain🙏🏻
We have been getting some rain each day or so through Aug. and although it's so muggy, the plants are loving it!!! Every plant has suffered through the AZ low desert zone 9b summer. Everything is growing now!
Excellent!
Spray paint them and continue to plant!
I have used your qvc large hanging planter (large fern) on your qvc lattice stand
Fun!
excellent update segment!
Yes, the mismatched colors would bother me! a I have always resisted planting anything for fall, as it seems so short before it freezes.
I definitely agree that Mama, Papa, and Baby Bear should match in color. I find black to be very elegant. Would love to see your "plant hospital," and also see how you propagate your coleus. Do you grow any veggies in the fall? I am beginning to see signs of fall in Northern California!
A few! Greens this year!
Yay!!! I LOVE garden decor!! Thank you for the inspiration Linda! This was fun and refreshing! 🧡❤️💜💙💚
❤️
Thank you dear
Hi linda and Stewart love what u guys do l find it inspiring l love Ur garden lm glad Ur getting some rain 😇😊
i love the container arrangements and your outfit, too :)
Thank you!
Your TOP is one of MY new favorite things...esp. "dampened by mist"
I don't mind the different finishes. Since the 3 plantings will be coordinated that will tie everything together and the slightly different styles and finishes of the stands will add interest.
the finishes don't bother me! Such a great idea!
Good morning from rainy Vienna, good to see to had some rain. I really like your idea , looking forward to the end result. Your arrangement as is just beautiful .😍
Thank you Imelda!
Ordered the shirt!!
Glad I found your channel!
Welcome!
The different finishes wouldn’t bother me but I would spray paint them to match because I would prefer that look.
I love your videos and am also rooting things like crazy. Linda - how do you stay so trim and slim? Can you do a 'what I eat in a day' video aside - or do you work often with a trainer. I'm struggling and you always look so nice.
I will address it soon:)
Ok so everything is great in the garden etc….I gotta know where you got those pants?!😊so adorable. Just my style and would fit under my 50+ year old tiny tummy pudge😎
I’ll look!
I’d love to know how you set your bricks and flagstones into the gravel Linda. You are so lucky to be having rain.
We hardly got any😭
I'm sooo ready for fall my favorite season🍁😊
No help with squirrels?!?! Well why am I here then? 🤣😂🐿🐿🐿🐿 Love your little bit o sarcasm !❤️❤️
🤣😂🤣
I wouldn’t mind the different finishes of the plant stands so much if all the baskets were planted identically. Otherwise, I would use spray paint which is kind of fun anyway.
I find gray, drizzling or light rain days in the summer very peaceful and relaxing. A nice break from the heat!
Me tooooo
An inexpensive can of spray paint can bring uniformity to your beautiful plant stands. That would keep me happy!!
I concur😄
I know I've commented before that I always enjoy your videos, but I also want to thank you for being an inspiration and a good influence for me. I've finally finished in the front yard handling every single planter, ridding them of walnuts buried by squirrels, dividing things, etc. and now I'm encouraged to continue around the sides of the house and on into the backyard. On video, the plant stands don't look all that different, but a coat of paint on them (like the Rustoleum 2X) might be good for them.
Well done you!
THANK YOU, Linda, for all your inspiration! I tried 2 mixed coleus planters yesterday!! You inspire me all the time.
I’m so glad:)
I'm all for the spray paint. The various designs would not bother me. Thanks
Definitely spray it.
I’m with you Linda, I’d have to have all the same colour stands, that would drive me nuts!
👍
I would like to know the details about cutting/rooting coleus.
Several of my recent videos discuss how to do it :-)
Since most of your outdoor iron pots, railings, plant stands, etc. are black, I would spray paint the plant stand to match it all. ❤
I love the still from this video-Linda, the garden goddess. Unique stone should model a garden statue on it! 😄
😂🤣😂
Linda that’s the beauty when there is not exactly the same finish.
I do also like things to match, but I think your plant stands work.
I love the finishes being different!!
Can't say it would bother me if they didn't match. But, I usually have spray paint in the garage, so I'd probably go ahead and do them in black. There are times where I would deliberately paint them different colors just for fun.
In this case the three stands look good. Guess it’s just a personal decision. On camera they look fine.
It looks very cleaned up linda. Thank you for reminding ding me of what I need to do. However not,! In 1000 degree weather. I. In so al
Exactly 😆
