The great Patrick Sky (Many a MIle) in rare video recording... we lost Sky in 2021. Ironically, Patrick played the pipes at the tribute concert to Phil Ochs in 1976 and he was on platform with Ramsey Clark who also passed away in 2021 on the same day that Phil Ochs died. Patrick''s South African song is Phil Ochesque! and unbelievably powerful. The Penny whistlers group was spectacular in this show. They appeared at Mariposa Folk Festival in 1967 on same venue as Joni Mitchell and on the day before, Buffy St. Marie.
Pat was born seven years before Arlo, but it's still hard to tell who influenced who. I'd guess Arlo influenced Pat, or maybe both were influenced by Rambling Jack Elliot and Dave Van Ronk. The reality is that they all influenced each other.
I still love to play his "Separation Blues", "Hanging Around" and other songs. RIP Patrick Sky, RIP Pete Seeger.
My late friend Gloria Throne once sailed with Pete Seeger down the Hudson on Pete's personal sailboat. What a great American Pete Seeger was.
The Pennywhistlers sound so beautiful. They formed in 1962 and disbanded in 1968 and unfortunately have one album on Smithsonian Folkways Records.
Pat Sky produced Mississippi John Hurt’s studio albums!!! He should be exalted in the pantheon of the greats!

I'm 76, and was a great fan of the great Folk Times. Joan, Judy, Patrick, Buffey so many! Great ful We can share those wonderful moments. Bob.
Loved it, brought back memories.
I've been looking for this episode for years. Many thanks for uploading!!
I hear a lot of Arlo Guthrie in this guy. Even have a similar singing voice. Wonder who influenced who?
