So to explain something with the Shermans, part the differences with the "A#" designations isn't so much straight upgrades, but rather production variances.
The A1 was changing from the welded M4 hull to an all cast hull.
The A2 was basically "M4 2.0", going back to a welded hull with an improved hull angle and turret design (removing the weakspot on the turret cheek).
The A3 was originally due to Ford installing their V8 Engine. It later came the basis the change from the VVSS suspension to the HVSS with the A3E8, as well as the uparmored A3E2 Jumbos.
The A4 was Chrysler installing the A57 Multibank engine, which required a longer hull, and was exclusively used for Lend-Lease Exports.
The big thing is similar to that of the US focusing on the notion of shipping it anywhere: they wanted it to be produced by as many manufactures as possible while still being of decent quality. And that's something that effected all of the US's production effort in the war. Armored vehicles, aircraft, small arms, ect. Because just like it doesn't matter if you can make something if you can't get it to the front, it doesn't matter if you can get it to the battle if you can't make enough of them to justify using them.
Had no idea you had a series on this game! I just played this a week ago on stream the Sherman DLC is so good, I need to check out your other episodes ASAP.

6:39 I think it's actually that you're not keeping the mouse on the bolt, and that you have to keep it on there for the bolt to screw it. That's both _kinda_ realistic, and *_VERY_* annoying

I have tank mechanic simulator on my ps4 unfortunately it’s extremely buggy and although the maus is now in the game it tends to crash the game most of the time which is unfortunate
