Funimation Cast Sings Dragon Soul

- In 2010 when Kai was licensed to North America Funimation recorded the opening "Dragon Soul" in English with lyrics written by Brina Palencia. However, the most popular version of the song is the one that aired on TV with Vic Mignogna as the singer. These other recordings, for the most part, are cast aside by the fandom as they were only heard on the home releases of the show.
I decided it would be neat to compile them all together to form a Dragon Soul Choir
Singers are:
Sean Schemmel, Sonny Strait, Brina Palencia, Justin Cook, Greg Ayres, and Vic Mignogna.

If you compare both sean, Sabat, and Vic to their original dubs and newer stuff for super

I remember back when I used to watch it, back when Vic was singing, there was 1 scene at the beginning that wasn't there when I was watching it (the scene where it's all dark and the z fighters fly up above the clouds) and also he didnt sing 'keep your spirit proud and ride upon the wind' he went straight to 'there's so much to be found'
That was the Saturday Morning cut, while the full version would be the Toonami cut.

2. Brina Palencia: Palencia is a good female version.
3. Sonny Strait: Strait is not a bad singer, but something is lacking.
4. Justin Cook: Cook isn't a singer and it shows.
5. Greg Ayres: Ayres is good at voicing boys but again not a singer.
6. Séan Schemmel: Personal feelings aside he's the worst, heavily autotuned and too deep.
Vic isn't irreplaceable. I love how he sounds, but Greg Cipes could fill in and we wouldn't notice

I feel you, I used to like the funi cast but after all that messed up crap and destroying the poor man's life I just can't respect them.
They were one of the most influential VA for a time, then most of them became horrible people and revealed they don't really care for the people who made them famous in the first place.
All we can do is pray and hope Vic will get at least some of his life back.

Vic is undoubtedly the best, but I gotta give a close second to my boy Justin Cook. As far as I know he and Colleen Clinkenbeard haven't addressed any of the stuff about his allegations, which I'm glad about. It makes me happy to know that at least some of the other funimation voice actors won't slander a coworker for publicity.

Thank you for making this and answering a question I've had all these years. I started with Kai on the CW and on Nicktoons, then watched it on Toonami. They obviously aired the home release version since it was uncut, but never hearing Vic opening confused the hell out of me. It finally makes sense now and its a shame they didn't use his opening in the home release...

originally it was just vic and sean, but after funimation screwed vic apparently they "fixed" and i use that in the loosest way possible by replacing his voice with one of the female VAs, probably one of the ones that screwed him
