Your hiking videos are by far the best I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot). I would love to see a tutorial on the techniques and equipment you use if you ever feel like putting one out. I can really appreciate the time and effort you must have put into filming this one in particular.
Thank you for the kind words. I do have several 'how to' videos in the works but it will be many months before they will be published. At the moment I am too busy traveling and making my current adventure hiking and bicycle touring videos. So stay tuned and thank you
I did that as a section just to see how it went. I had to take the pack off and drag it a couple times, but that was the worst. All the rest was gravy. Good vid
One question- if it's such a tight fit going through the rocks, why don't people take their packs off and push them through first or tie a rope to them and pull them up and through after they get through?
Yes, of course..they're incredible. Looking forward to the next one. You make us feel like we're right there with you, your videos are epic. And thanks for the well wishes, we're about a month out from "go time" now.
So, you never answered the question of your own title.....just how hard is it? Can an older guy like me in my late sixties but in decent hiking shape make it? And how long does it take the average hiker to go through this thing? Looks intimidating as hell!
The boulders in this area are so large that going over takes far more work than going under. This trail has many steep descents where poles would be invaluable. It’s easy to criticize from behind your computer though. Go try it for yourself and share your own videos if you think the way he’s doing it isn’t good enough!
Proud of my friend Spartacus doing this!
I know him..
Great video! Hiking katahdin next month and might have to hit this up too!
Brought back so many memories!

Nice
Brad, you and your hiking mate are absolutely brilliant. Your hiking skills, photography and dialogue are superb.
The wife and I went through the notch in 2007 on our AT hike. I was 62 and she, 59. Yeah, I know.
I think the video captures what it's really like. Mostly fun.

I have backpacked many sections of the AT, but not that far north. Looks challenging for sure. Great series!
It's a rewarding section of the trail. Tough but a lot of fun.
Love this sound track - I have yet to visit here. Maybe this fall! Video moved me...thanks for the great production quality on this one!
Thanks for the nice words. It's a great place for a hike I hope you get the chance to make it there.
You captured the Notch perfectly! By far, my 2 favorite states on the AT.
Cheers Thumper, yes, my favourite too, and Vermont.

Wow. Incredible videography. Loved every minute, thanks for sharing. Can't wait to be those boulders myself. Awesome!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. Did you check out the rest of my videos? Good luck with the hike.

That just insane that little tiny space must ruin everyone day doing that
wow
super cool...
cheers
There's no way I could get thru this maze with my normal 80-90 lb pack loads. Does the Notch have an alternate bypass trail????
Not that I know of, take less gear might work
It should just climb on top of those rocks
@@melissatodd1135 Should, but doesn't, just not possible in the rugged terrain
I'd never make that I go around that no crawling I have thing about small spaces
It's twice as hard when you have to set up your shot and do the same area 3 times.
that is definitely a true story.
Why can't people just climb on the rocks instead going through that small hole space would be easier
Not sure if you've been there but that is the trail. A boulder field that requires climbing through small gaps.

How the f do you hike 1900 miles and you're still carrying two poles? Reee-diculous. Why is he going through holes rather than walking on top?
