- I've been trying to get this working for so long now, and with FINALLY some found success, it could mean very cool things for the future. It's not all sunshine & rainbows though, and I'll probably explain why in a future video

I still need to figure a few things out with this, but provided the right people came together, and dedicated real time to this... There is a very small chance a fan remaster of BL2 could be made.

On one hand, this is amazing. On the other hand, i feel like the game struck gold with the girthy textures and doesn't really need a remaster all that much

@@rexcolt7203 Wonderlands feels good too but Bl2 really had gold in all departaments. I still wish Hyperion still made pistols like in Bl2. Those things were amazing
i was surprised by wonderlands i like it to, i still ve to finish it but right b2 was a gem in everything story characters missions atmosphere...@@Sruf.

Make a vid on unobtainable borderlands loot. This idea came to my head when I heard of a shield called the "Naught" in the pre sequel that's only obtainable if you've purchased the og tales from the borderlands seasons pass. I think there are lots of unobtainable stuff in the borderlands games specifically in the pre sequel such as heads, skins, guns, shields, etc.

I think you have it in you. I mean, you did the best mods for bl3 and wonderlands, so you have the experience... it would just be a massive undertaking to do it alone. I hope the right people can come together to make this happen. I love BL2 the most, and I've tried to play BL3 modded all the way through and I just can't do it with how much cringe dialogue there is. Believe me, I've tried and I tried on multiple characters. After playing through the slog-like story, I can't bring myself to do it. I've never had that problem with BL2 though.
Why would you try on multiple characters to get less story?
Have you played the DLCs for 3?

Amazing work! There are so many great maps and assets in BL2 and 3 that i would love to 3d print for table top war gaming but have no idea how you got the models. Gave it a crack years ago but could only get gun models.

Neat, but I'm not sure I really see a point when BL2's stylized art still holds up plenty well on its own.
if this is made a thing were we put the BL3 models in BL2 to make a remaster i would 100% play it cause honestly BL2's models and were good for its time but now they kinda hurt my eyes after playing BL3. so a mod to make BL2 have BL3 graphics sounds amazing.

honestly, bl2 doesn't need it it just needs more postprocessing and a change to pbr-metallic but that's something we cannot do bc unreal 3 doesnt allow it

This was stuff was cracked by me back in 2015 but I never went public about it
How hard was it to implement these mesh changes?
It's a very tedious process which requires a lot of care and effort, which makes me doubtful of it happening - but it's 90% possible
@@EpicNNG do you think if a project like a fan remaster would be started that gearbox would allow it? If it uses borderlands 3 meshes and textures they may not be so okay with it. (Also that sounds like most of game development lmao)

I’m not a 100% sure but isn’t mesh replacement one of the things modders have been wanting for a while for the game but have struggled due to technical difficulties? I’m not very knowledgeable about modding the game other than it’s fairly limited at times

Hey, little suggestion: If possible please redo the audio design of Bl2 when it comes to guns. They sound like toys. Especially Jakobs assault rifles.

There would actually be a lot of models you can update, including most of the characters. What would you do with ones like Roland, Scooter, (young) Tiny Tina, etc. that aren't in game? BL3 also has no sand worms so I guess you can't change Terramorphous. You can change Vermi though! You could get Mr. Torgue from Wonderlands but the fantasy skins for Dragons Keep wouldn't work for most of the characters (Moxxi, Ellie, etc.).
You could change the guns...? There are no Maliwan launchers in BL3, however. Also no COV/Bandit SMGs or shotguns and Tediore rockets.
What would you do for slag effects? Maybe repurpose radiation effects to be slag or retool the game so it doesn't need slag and then just remove it. If this is all possible, could you put in cryo? Maybe use the coding from Pre-Sequel and have the effects from 3? I have no idea how modding works so that might just be reaching.
I wonder about skill trees too. Could you put in more skills and move the augments to the sides like in BL3? Probably not.
Um what? There certainly are Maliwan SMGs in BL3.

honestly BL3 models and textures as a big graphics overhaul mod would be amazing i love BL2 but the graphics even though still good are kinda dated [also if youd know could this also be done to BL1? just imagine BL1 to BL3 graphics]

@@EpicNNG honestly maybe abit into the future rtx remix could be used to add this type of stuff idk if remix even works atm for borderlands 2 cause its like DX9c or whatever. it might already work just no one has tested it yet tbh.
@@Helix142I saw epic asking on the RTX Remix forums and someone told him that because of shaders in unreal engine 3, it's a no go. :(
@@MichaelMKenny last i checked it doesnt matter what engine the game uses only if its uhhh DX9 or DX8 though apparently going off PCGW something like FONV is DX9c and ive seen videos of it relatively working with RTX remix and that was even before the open beta dropped.
