2011 was one of the best NASCAR seasons in recent history
2014 was better, imo, but I get why 2011 is considered
Best of the 2010’s
Ren Amamiya 2014?
which was sadly ruined by nonsensical chase format
Zender Man I really don’t give a crap
I broke my arm when I was 7 and my Mom took me to see a nascar race in 1983 or 84 and Dale Earnhardt signed my cast on my arm and every since that day I've loved Nascar
2:20:42 greatest quote in nascar history
LMFAO!
Haha he really said it. Hero.
Big yikes
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
2:26:13 Loved Harvick's comment about seeing Blaney's "Kids Eat Free" panel on the back of his car while pushing him. 😂😂
people might hate the tandem, but it provided some great racing and finishes
More precisely, it sometimes provided great racing and finishes, with this being the best and most classic. Too often, it was tedious and boring. Overall, I hate tandem racing.
tandem drafting is better than the train-around-the-outside-of-the-racetrack-for-half-the-race shit we have.
@@killertaco9703 True, I'll grant you that is worse. I don't know how to solve it except to just let the cars go crazy fast, removing restrictor plates or tapered spacers, especially now that the safety precautions are so incredibly good. NASCAR is far safer now than in 1988 when they restricted the speed of the cars.
rockpaperscissors82 ya but the cars would be going 230 mph. And the cars are giant sails and that’s a perfect way to start killing people in cars and the stands. It can’t happen
@@hayden4597 with Newman’s crash, I don’t think they’ll consider it for a while.
88 lead changes
29 different leaders
That's a record that will be very very hard to beat.
2010 was the same
It'll probably never be beat. Not with single file racing at restrictor plate tracks
@@zachtm4yeah and half the field fuel saving…. When I was at the Daytona 500 this year at one point the front had slowed the pace down to about 175 mph +/-… flipping through a few drivers radios they didn’t seem to like it as much as the fans
Awesome race by Johnson and Earnhardt. That was pretty much perfect tandem racing by them.
A classic, and also right when I was about to get busier with my freshman year of high school. Good times. Clint Bowyer in the RCR 33 was my favorite at the time.
I miss this style of nascar I like the way the cars look
Dave Blaney may not have won this race, but there was a silver lining: what was originally supposed to be a one race deal with Golden Corral ended up turning into a sponsorship deal for the rest of 2011 and sporadic races for the rest of Tommy Baldwin Racing's existence.
Well at least his boy Ryan redeemed him last fall here at Talladega.
Definitely one of the best Nascar Seasons EVER!
Why I liked tandem: great finishes, awesome battles, much passing, surprise winners.
Why I didn’t like tandem:
And less torn up cars. Pack racing always seems to result in a 25 car pileup which the fans might like but if I were a driver or team owner and my equipment constantly got torn up because of a wreck that wasn't my fault, I'd be pissed. Tandem racing would rest in most cars being in one piece which was refreshing at a superspeedway
But who doesn’t like big wrecks... well simtimes
@jayden howard especially like the 2017 talladega fall race where there was like 8 cars left. In my opinion the racing gets significantly worse when there's only a few cars
2:28:11 Reutimann had some of the best crash avoidance Ive ever seen. Can't believe he made it through without a scratch
1:12:25 Spoiler alert, he's a one-hit wonder
Zach Hatten I mean he was amazing at tandem drafting anything else eh
I loved it. Thanks for these videos because it's not on TV in France. I'm so glad I found your channel! 😍
1:33:13 That shot of Ragan being on fire before he ever hit anyone always baffles me.
Really bizarre.
the car in front of him got nailed so he had impact damage which probably broke the oil line and woshhhh
@@josephjohn3857listen to his onboard he blows an engine half way down the straightaway.
He blew an engine at the same time the wreck was happening, crazy timing
That was a heck of a finish I remember that very well
I remember watching this. One of my favorite finishes. I was cheering so loud for Jeff Gordon to win
But he didn’t
@@skill7266 I know that
24 was my guy.........my excitement for NASCAR has fallen off a LOT since he retired (also, the endless tinkering with the stupid chase format)
Back when they had a carburetor These were the days 👍👍👍
Thank you for uploading a great race!! Shouts from Mainz, Germany!!
I really miss living on lake Norman with my nascar family. Me and my son's would play nascar racing on ps 2 everyday. I love racing this full race on the game
1:00:50 Waltrip was right, that was how the race ended 134 laps later.
That was Larry McReynolds
I miss these awesome racing
My memories of NASCAR 2011 game come to my mind
Beautiful memories
2:25:20 They labeled Harvick as McMurray XD
Unironically rocking a John Madden wig in 2011. Thats special.
Man this was awesome. An all timer for sure. 😊
Not many people mention that JR had a major hand in Jimmie Johnsons win. His natural talent for restrictor plate races definitely helped in his pushing of Johnson, i dont think Jimmie would have won with a different drafting partner honestly
Thanks NASCAR for the upload.
Man I miss tandem drafting.
Darrell Waltrip's tie is *AWESOME*!
did you try to make it bold? well, you failed. *bruh*
Tandem racing is so amazing
Who else fast forwards through the parts with no commentary?
2011 Aaron's 499 but every time theres a lead change you take a shot.
dead on lap 30
Holy hell 88 shots that might be a world record
Obi-Wan: You're going to get us both killed!
Jesus 😂
@Damar Fadlan ????
yall ever seen them love bugs flying around attached to each other? thays what the tandem reminds me of. a different time. a weird restrctor time but i love it
Fans: A new comer will win Jimmie Johnson: Let me just step right in
Here after Atlanta 2024 finish
weve had a lot of great finishes this year
Unpopular opinion:
Tandem drafting was the best plate racing since 1998
He’s got room THEY’RE 3 WIDE! 3 BY 3 TO THE LINE!
I was at this race, and Paul Menard’s team gave me tickets!
Jesus watching that line up and seeing Jr's afro
Can we please go back to these cars 😔
This race is my top 10 favorite races of all time
As a Jeff Gordon fan i was so frustrated he didn't win this race when it happened LIVE i was in my junior year of highschool but looking back on it now it's still one of the most amazing finishes in Nascar history
2:29:03 kyle and joey everytime
Ah! I remember watching this race, I wanted Gordon to win so badly, I remember being so salty when Johnson won, looking back on it now it was such a great race, and I really like Johnson now haha.
I was at this race ,and I never even saw Jimmy until I looked up at the big screen and saw him passing everyone
In my opinion the ban on locking bumpers for the Xfinity and Truck guys should be lifted. It would make the racing SO much better.
One good race
Brought my friend to this race… He didn’t seem that interested
Nascar goes back to this pattern nowadays it's very emotionless
Great race!
lol they had an ad for the "new movie" Cars.
Ill never understand why noone liked this awesome racing
Coronavirus sent me here...just watching old races.
1997 Winston 500 please: the fastest NASCAR race in history!
*Geico 500
@@JackTheripper911
Don't change history, it was the Winston 500 the day it was run.
I remember watching this it was so intense but awesome
One of the best plate races of all time😅
Why do they blur out Steve Burns’ name at the top of the ticker when hes reporting
It might be because he died a few years ago
I actually went to this race when I was 8
3:21:41
tandem drafting was so awesome. i hope the next gen car or the a new package brings back tandem drafting.
We kinda have it already thanks to the current package. It can't be sustained for long, but still.
well, we did see tandem drafting with the FORDS. clint and logano at the coke zero 400 (i think) were tandem drafting, along with clint and keselowski. and at the daytona 500, the last lap had some tandems. but, i kinda want the every driver to be in a tandem draft, like in this race.
@@killertaco9703 the Toyotas can do it too, seeing what Hamlin was able to do with Blaney and Newman in the Daytona 500. I'd love to see the Chevrolets try it with the new Camaro body.
i forgot about hamlin using the toyota front end in a tandem, and i would also love for the chevys to tandem as well.
@@JJA1987 it literally is Daytona and Dega style racing, lmao. Despite there being tandems, you still saw packs of cars together all over the track.
Besides, you simply cannot be pleased if you think it sucked, given how many great finishes it gave us and how wild it could be.
My years of running open wheel mods using gasoline with limited radiator size creates overheating issues as ambient temperature rises.. Switching to racing e85 or methanol will cure that issue. 406 is a popular choice and with the limited tire contact patch the camshaft selection can really help drive off the turn. The camshaft you showed the specs to I think will work great.shouldnt give that sudden blast of torque that will buzz the tires.
Thanks for the race. Nascar just isn't great anymore without Juan Pablo Montoya...
At least jet dryers are safe now...
Bring back speed dating!!
The only paint scheme I recognize is Kyle Busch. Every one else is using someone else’s. I see Tony’s and Joeys out there but there not in them
Idk anything about NASCAR i just like to sleep to this video
The Plate tracks should have been tandem winners😂😂
I take it this was the first time drivers started using tandom and side drafti ng
Which Charlotte race where they had a record breaking 24+ cautions? I wanna see that one
I wanna say 05
@@williamgrantham4481 I was off by a little bit. Been a long time since I watched NASCAR
It's good one
Look who’s got his swagger back
And Kyle Busch signed my cap
God i love Nascar tandem or not...
10:00 Green Flag
11th to 1st for Jimmie with 2 to go
Now JJ claims too have all his checkered flags in his garage on his UA-cam channel
I saw that video too but also noticed those flags all looked different than the actual flags from the flag stand.. so I’m wondering if NASCAR gives winners some other sort of flag after the race.
I just went back and looked at the video.. I’m guessing NASCAR gives flags after because all the flags on Jimmies wall have dates and race names on them but the flags from the flag stands don’t seem to have either of those on the flag unless I’m just blind.
I miss this.
What would I have to do in order to see onboard footage from this race?
*NYOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM*
*NYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM*
NYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Mark Martin got screwed in this finish
David Blaney should have won this race
Lightning McQueen
That is lightning McQueen and check Hicks and dinoco and Jason Storm
miguel Rocha Velazquez It’s Jackson Storm, not Jason Storm
@@BH28Racing ohhhh i get it
this was in the 2011 Alabama tornado
The tornado was a week after the race
Search up 2011 super outbreak
this is typical kind of racing in superspeedway tracks, find ur partner, communicate each other, bump drafting overall its aTag Team race at Daytona/Dega. i llike it maybe should be again on new season
STEVE PARK raced in this? Wow
Gracias por la carrera
Gordon burning Tyres 😂❤❤🎉
Sucesso Brazil 🔥🔥😃
what are those flag pins on their suits at the beginning of the video
10:52 green
Its interesting! Who looks f1? is it better?
Three wide, two deep. That’s how we race at talladega
90 lead changes!!!!!
I want to be a tire changer on the pit crew if y'all are hiring
Does anyone know which Talladega race had 80+ lead changes?
I don't remember the year but I do know that it was the race kevin harvick and mcmurry had that close finish
2010 Aaron's 499.
Imagen if doge came bake on nascar.
Could you please upload Sonoma 2007 and Watkins Glen season 2010?
I like Newman yea ❤❤🎉
