We Ran out of Plastic to Recycle, Here’s How We Got More

- In this video we make our biggest ever project out of recycled plastic! We teamed up with Carhartt & Guinness to make our ReCYCLE Wagon as part of their #MakeYourOwnParade campaign to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year. This bike trailer is going to be used to collect plastic donations from around our local community for us to then turn into brand new products and save it from landfill.
However you are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this year, be sure to share what you’re doing using the hashtag #MakeYourOwnParade and tagging Carhartt. If you want to pick up something from the limited edition Carhartt x Guinness Collection, check out the link below:

When cutting and shaping plastic, how do you limit the waste? I'm always worried about creating microplastics, and thus actually damaging the environment when trying to save it. When in a non-dedicated workshop it's hard to separate the waste from e.g. wood or metal waste. Do you have any tips?
Please make a video on making net making needle from plastic
I want to know the name of each machine you used can you?
How can I get this machines? I'm going to use this for my students that I have teaching at my factory ( I have a furniture manufacturing company)
Ok how much for a recycled wagon????
I knew it was a bike trailer... I've been making custom bike trailers for years. Plastic will now be incorporated to my builds.
That’s AWESOME to hear! Thanks for watching!
where is your shop located?
Make shure is recycled
@@MilesProwerTailsFox 100% repurposed materials everything down to the nuts and bolt's even the paint is found.
@@MilesProwerTailsFox Recycling is a hoax. The proof: "Brothers" didn't "make" this from their own recycled plastic. They bought it.
I would love to see you guys collab with Evan and Katelyn, once it is safe to travel, ofc. I think your personalities will mesh very well!
We would LOVE that - those guys are awesome :)
I am from India 🇮🇳
I appreciate your work 👍👍.
Welcome! Thanks so much 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Love it Brothers! You two have a processing plant in your workshop! I'm an Eagle Scout Mom, I take scraps from all my creations and turn them into something. Even with resins, but you two are v putting such a major dent in plastic wastes! Insider secret, remember the HDPE grocery bags I've spoke about? I had so many because I turned them into "plarn" and was making mats for the Homeless in our county. Just goes to show all the different ways to reuse!
That’s so cool! Keep doing awesome things :)
I love that you guys are collecting from and are supported by your community! Really amazing to see such a communal effort! You guys are awesome! Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much! The community around us are awesome and love to get involved!
YOU’RE SO CLOSE TO 100k!! What an achievement!! I remember when you had less than 1k. So amazing.
That’s AWESOME! Thanks for sticking with us since the beginning 😁😁
104k now.
That ending was wholesome as hell 👏🏼 Cheers from Denver, CO!
SO wholesome 🤍🤍
this was everything i hope for and more 🖤🖤
love you, miss you
Literally wouldn’t have done it without you. Right back atcha squirrel lady 🤍🤍
i read hdpe at first :D
i’ve been waiting for at least a week or two for this video. i love everything about it!! i love how hardly anything can ever go to waste when recycling and reusing HDPE. i can’t wait for more projects especially now that you guys can make larger things 💜
We're so glad it lived up to expectations! Yeah it's an awesome material, we're really excited to as well!
@@BrothersMake it did, and then some!
I absolutely love all your videos and encouraging recycling in your community. That is incredible. Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks so much Ciera!!
Every part of this is just plain brilliant. Love it!
Thanks so much that means a lot! 🧡🤍
How exciting! Love the different things you're making, plastic is so versatile!
Thank you!!
Saludos desde México 🇲🇽
Súper nice skill you all have
Keep Going ‼️🥸👍🏽
Thank you!!
You have green helmets, too. Brilliant!
Haha its all in the details 😉 thanks Eugene.
This is just about the most wholesome thing I have ever seen. There is good left in the world!
Haha thanks Alison, wholesome is exactly what we were going for! 💚
To the 21 people who have disliked this (at the time of the comment) what is wrong with you? This is wholesome content that shows just how good people can be, I honestly do not understand what is not to like?
They can´t ride bike or they don´t drink. Or both.
i love watching these guys, they're both so calming and likeable and they do what they can to recycle and it usually turns out beautiful
Thanks so much, very kind of you! Really glad you're enjoying out content ♻️💚
There was something so wholesome about you guys driving around picking up bottle caps for recycling. You both looked like you were having a ton of fun. Great project! (now fill it with ice and beer and setup a mobile bar!) :D
Thanks Andy. We had a great day cycling round!
@@BrothersMake You mean "re-cycling" around?
I'm super impressed guys!
Amazing video 😊❤❤❤👍
And the cart is incredible! Excellent work!
Thanks so much!
Massive indeed......huge fan here from Zambia guys, you always make my days when i watch your videos and am inspired....planning to start my own recycle projects as well
This one made me quite emotional, well done guys.
This is fantastic on so many levels!! I had no idea such machines existed to make plastic 2x4's. This was great to watch. Thank you guys for sharing this.
Thanks! It’s a super satisfying process :)
This is pretty cool! I'm trying to figure out how to make my own composting toilet out of HDPE and all of your videos have been SUPER informative :D just trying to figure out how to make it all work :D
Nice idea!
Me too. I use a bucket toilet. Works fine but the plywood box part should be rounded at the front.
The item here that you call an extruder is the very thing used with injection molding to force the plastic into the mold. As with a lot of products the injection molding machine is rated by the clamping pressure it can exert; i.e. 20 ton press, 210 ton press. I've personally worked with injection presses ranging from 10 ton all the way up to 450 ton.
Going to start off on some smaller plastic projects but if we end up getting into it more we are going to have to check out some more of the heavy duty equipment.
Awesome, that's the way to do it!
Awesome video chaps! The #ReCycleWagon looks brilliant & the section showing how you built it & how easy the material is to work with is sweeeet ☺️ Fantastic job 👏🏻
We look forward to working with you on many more collaborations! #supportlocal
Thank you bud! And thank you for all your help with it. Can't wait to work together on more projects 🤙🏼
I really wished there was people like you in my neighborhood. Good video
Maybe you could be that person?
That was awesome guys. Im gonna guess Johnny did all the peddling and Matt just did the steering? 😆
Thanks fella. Haha that's exactly what it was, lazy bugger!
A little cool tip for the ending, instead of cans, use a bottle of plastic (like coca cola or something like that) so after you finish it you can throw it into the trailer
WOW, mates! A Shreddie Kreuger would work wonders @ reducing the volume of what I've been storing. That extruder looks wicked good too. Looks like they cost a few quid though (Loonies, Pesos, or Greenbacks on this side of the pond). Too bad that's a little deeper than my pockets go.
Glad that you took the time to show the process of building the trailer and show how workable HDPE is.
Cheers from the Pacific Northwest!
Haha yeah he nails it! Thanks bud, really glad you enjoyed it 👍🏼
Yayyyy, I loved it! Looking forward to see more recycled plastic videos and trips! Looks like you guys had so much fun on the trip haha
Thanks so much Jolien! Haha it was so much fun, definitely going to be out on it regularly! 🚲
Man Alive, whoever did your branding is super talented. Great video as always chaps!!
Damn straight. What a dreamboat he is! Cheers pal.
You guys are diamond on earth. Love what you do for humanity. Love from India. I am a big fan...
You fellows are great! Thank you! Keep on saving Earth>->->->->->
Отличная идея, вы молодцы коллеги!
excellent. that's a good idea. Thank you for sharing. See you. big greetings.
Thank you! 💚
I wish I lived there to help you out collecting plastic!
That would be great!
Wow thats fantastic! That machinery must have been a long time coming, gone are the days of using the sandwich maker and heat gun, good on you guys. I wouldn't even know where to look for that kind of equipment in Australia. The recycled bike trailer is awesome, thanks for sharing the video. Xheers from Tasmania!
We still plan to use the sandwich press for lots of things! These machines just open up a lot of doors :) thanks for watching!
@@BrothersMake well, you two make recycling fun, which is infectious! Cheers from Tasmania!

Awesome guys!! The machines look nice 😎
Thank you! Yeah they're so awesome, great to finally have them 🙌🏼
new subscriber here from philipines, I really love your videos it was amazing making things out of scrap material. actually I'm planning to do this kind of content and this was my first step, taking idea on your videos HEHEHEH you guys are big help. :D
Brilliant project and a cracking video to show it off too boys!
Thanks Jamie!
You guys are so awesome 👌 I love this wagon and it's a great way to recycle lids.
You are amazing ♥️♥️ I’m glad that I found your channel
I’m thinking about doing the same for my country, as we are suffering from pollution and poor trash management, but i’m afraid because most of people here are not into recycling🥺🥺
#BETHECHANGE 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Me too. I need to make it easy for people to recycle by collecting - with a bike trailer
So cool! Really enjoy you’re plastic projects and want more! Hopefully I can start my own projects soon.
Thanks! More coming soon
I want to start a large scale facility to make 2x4 boards from recycled plastic, to frame homes! I also want to incorporate recycled plastic into cement to make foundations. This system looks like it would be perfect for building "Tiny Homes" as well.
It would work for sure! There are some companies doing similar things already 🤙🏽
What a lovely pair!!! This makes me so happy that people are doing this type of stuff. Ive been look for 100% recycled plastic crafting beads. Trying to get inspo
Thank you so much! We will be releasing HDPE beads in our online store VERY soon! DM us on Instagram and we’ll send you a sneak peak
@@BrothersMake thank you!!
What a cool and creative idea. Awesome!👍🏼

Nice! Keep making videos like this!
Thank you 🤙🏽
Your video gave my mom a great idea: use a greenhouse wagon to start plants inside and move them in and out as needed for the best possible season. Thanks!
Also, you guys should seriously team up with Man At Arms Reforged. You could show what it would look like if Captain Planet had a sword or something. I bet you could make an awesome hilt and sheath.
Wooooaaaaawwww ! Merci pour la planète 🙏🌍🥰
Thanks 😁😁
Keep going
You guys are doing great stuffs
Keep going
Thanks!
Perhaps this sounds strange, but this would make a cool portable coop if you only had a few hens!!! Add a door that can be pulled down as a ramp or pushed up and locked at night! I’m going to try out a similar design for my little girls!!! Likely using some scrap lumber since the plastic might get hot in the sun! Wish me luck
You guys are geniuses.!
Amazing work, you guys should try making a bicycle camper like that
Great idea!!
Nice project! You could´ve added a pedal powered shreder to the bike! Shred as you go!
Well done guy's!!!
Fantastic idea 💡 and just think if you have a slow spell during the summer you can always put a mini refrigerator compressor in the trailer and start selling corneto's and the odd ice pop 💯% 👍.
Haha great idea!
Hi guys: I'm fairly "new" to your channel.
I'm also into doing things with plastic, I only wish I had all the tools. I have enjoyed all your videos and have learned a lot.
Keep those great videos going! Best wishes from Puerto Rico! 🥰🥰🥰
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching
@@BrothersMake I forgot to mention you guys are incredibly funny. You always make me laugh! Love it. 😄😄😄😄😄
The ending of the video was beautiful. ❤️
Excellent!!! 🌟🌟✨💚
Congrats guys. The channel is doing amazing. Loved this project. Hopefully we’ll be able to get together again soon. Really loved the edit as well.
Thanks so much Chad! And really hoping so bud.
I really like this idea. You should sell the plans or even the cart itself.
In Poland collecting HDPE caps is quite popular. There are big containers for them which collect them for charity. I think 1kg of HDPE costs about 1-2$ here so organizations collecting them can make some money. I myself collect all caps and when I go for a walk or ride a bike and I see a cap lying around I have to take it with me :)
That's great to have that kind of incentive in place, good work Poland!
Very good!! Great idea! 👍
Thanks!
Well done guys, this is awesome! 🙌
Thanks Sophie! 💚
really amazing. if I understand we can do whatever we want with recycle plastic (boat..teardrop ... table). I would be curious about the weight versus the wood. I would take your trailer with my electric bike 😀
Sorry for my english. I'm better in french 😀
plastic is easily 2 to 2.5x heaveir than wood. if they had used plastic sheets they could of kept the weight down. they made too heavy
@@rollandelliott thanks a lot my friend 😀
Great idea. Great community!
Absolutely amazing, very well done
Love it!!!

Excellent and dreamy
"I'm the older brother, it's going on MY bike." you guys are too cute lol

Holey Guacamole!!!! this is incredible!!!!
Haha thanks so much!
Such good work on every level!
Thanks so much, Andy!
Wonderful!
Hi from NOLa I don't know what part was the best. The build or the ride!!! I'm a machinist and intrested in learning how turning recyclables will work out. All our tops are mostly red.
A brilliant construction
I'd love to see if you guys could experiment with trying to make patterns. For example, techniques similar to making polymer clay canes and/or segmented wood canes such as those used for woodturning pens. I'm a jeweller and I've been experimenting with making HDPE jewellery but I've been struggling to make patterns, especially straight stripes. Stripes always end up warping on me. It'd be super cool to see if you could make Stripes, checkerboard, polka dots etc.
Will see what we can do!
@@BrothersMake Awesome!
Only getting to watch now guys what a great project fair play to you and all your recycle patrons 👍 still cant believe ye drank Guinness from the can though 🙄 sacrilege!
Thanks Alan! Haha so we've heard, we'll be sure to carry some glasses with us next time 🍻

The planks look super cool! I wonder if a house can be built out of them) or a cabin… or a doghouse at least!)
Hey you guys totally inspired me to use this same concept to build solar powered velomobiles that don't cost a kings ransom. maybe expand it to build homeless shelters and other critical human infrastructure.
For the trolley frame, the bottle cap is given an iron inside, maybe it's stronger, friend
